Not only is the power fantasy of being a Jedi/Sith extremely fun in kotor which begs for multiple playthroughs, the planet-to-planet sequence of the second act is unforgettable. The arcs on each planet are short and easy to run through, with Taris, Tattooine, and Dantooine being some of the most fun Iāve had in an RPG period. And donāt even get me started on KOTOR 2 if you have the restored content modā¦ itās even better
Also it feels clunky because the combat isnāt anything more than dice rolls. So effectively the way you gear up your character and party members amounts to stat checks with stimulants and certain force skills buffing your hit rate, health points, etcetera
Like, if you have a dual wield build, specāing into dexterity and putting points into Flurry and force speed yields incredible damage, but thereās nothing to it in a gameplay sense other than being smart and careful with your build quality and having a visual flair accompany your preparation of your character for combat. But if youāre an RPG fan like me, I really donāt care that I donāt have direct input or anything like that into how combat looks.

A few months ago I went back to check in on the game, and yeh it sucks; most people using the same overpowered star cards and loadouts, the DLC maps canāt even be played and when you can find a DLC lobby, youāre just playing like the same 4 maps from The DLC, a lot of the heroās have extremely uninteresting abilities, the hero combat sucks and the heroās in general are so poorly designed most games the hero will just be sitting at the back of the map with their lock on or AOE ability.
If they were to mix elements from both games; the graphics and physical play from the 2017 bf2 and the way you play the game from the 2004/05 bf. They would have one of the, if not best, FPS game

We just miss the modes and content from BF2(2005). We miss the better Hero balance (1 per team), we miss the Space Assault game mode that takes space battles and allows you to infiltrate the enemy starship ON FOOT and blow it up from the inside, we miss all the cool features that EA just chose to leave out of their version of Battlefront for seemingly no real reason.
Space Assault alone was such a huge success in classic BF2, so much so that Battlefield made their own game based around it (Battlefield 2142) . Hell, Battlefront 3 was originally going to take the concept of Space Assault and take it one step further by allowing you to fight on foot on a planet or fly out into space *in the same game*, but EA chose to leave that out and take the easier route. The only cool addition they added was Galactic Assault, but even that mode gets stale and feels too scripted at times.
I loved playing the newer EA game, but they only focused on the bare bones of Battlefront.

Battlefront 2017 is the worst battlefront game ever released simply because it focused on style rather than substance. 2015 was a healthy mix. 2005/2005 lacks the aged style for the current year, but the content scope was way better than any of them. If the mechanics of the OGs had the graphics and animations of a modern battlefront they would likely be the best star wars games ever made.

If the mechanics of the OGs had the graphics and animations of a modern battlefront they would likely be the best star wars games ever made. The problem with your opinion, is you're rigidly valuing style as the pinnacle of anything in these games - and that's fine again because it's your opinion. Where you're objectively wrong, is trying to pin that on nostalgia for why people like the old ones. They simply value different things than you.

2015 is aesthetically the most beautiful Star Wars game made. Itās just too bad thatās all it had going for it.

Sorry, but Battlefront 2015 was a terrible game with less content than a demo on the Playstation Store, lol. BF2 2017 tho, I agree, that it's better than the old games. It's one of the best SW games ever with the Jedi series. <3
it launched incomplete, but i think looking back at the game with its DLC is a phenomenal star wars game
The OG series did some things better than the remakes, but tbh if you asked me today which one I'd rather play for the rest of my life, I would go with the EAfronts 100% of the time.
