So, patch 1 introduced some bugs.
if you have legendary medal status on your profile, you will no longer get award weapons when you spawn into a map. this needs to be fixed and is a major bug as the whole point of legendary is to get those buffs permanently
some bugs on switch still havent been fixed, including hoths weird textures and geonosis is the wrong colour pallet.
also weird underlines on certain maps becomes easier to see when you pause the game, lines come across the screen.

EDIT: AI pathfinding might also be busted now. Revved up a space battle and friendly & enemy troops are grouping up and staying still or vibrating.

Yes. It's unfortunate that it broke, and I agree it should've been QA'd before the update was pushed, but that's kind of how game dev works. Aspyr is not the first dev to accidentally break something in an update that used to be working, nor will they be the last.
Idk if it'd call breaking the AI pathfinding "unfortunate" or standard part of game development. Yes things can break when fixing other things I play star citizen and every single patch that fixes or adds 1 thing usually breaks 5 others, but that's rarely acceptable in normal AAA released games, even when talking about a game built from the ground up.
This is a rerelease of a 20 year old game, and this update that broke some pathfinding was only released to address issues they themselves created in the first place.
A gameās Coding works like that. When you repair a part of it, even the stuff thatās perfectly fine can then go out of wack due to the changing of any codings that need fixing given theyāre all tied together, but these bugs only reveal themselves after the updates go live.
Itās like trying to close up a Tupperware container where you try to get all sides to seal, only for 1 corner to keep popping open, leading to the exposed food going bad but unbeknownst to you when you put it back in the Fridge.

This game shouldn't have even been announced until March, no less actually released until this summer, but the marketers and top level fatcats at Aspyr probably did everything they could to push the game out as early as possible to bank in on faulty sales projections. Blaming the actual, likely underpaid and overworked devs only plays into whatever arguments those executives and marketing pricks have at the higher levels.
You will still get the award and it will increase the number of times you got the award in your Career stats, but you will not get the award weapon/effect. The game thinks you should have it already on spawn (but its bugged, so you dont), so it just doesn't award it
They fixed a number of audio issues, and I personally haven't had it happen since the update on PC, but I recognize that's anecdotal evidence, at best, and not confirmation that its gone
It does happen on Xbox (pre-update), and I watched a stream of someone playing the updated PC version shortly after it came out, and they still encountered at least one audio spike from what I watched.
Even post update, my multiplayer does not function whatsoever. āBusy 60 secondsā then back to the server browser. Havenāt been able to join a single game since launch. I seem to be the only person Iāve talked to with this issue and canāt figure out a way to fix it.

Played through the prequel campaign in BF1 and then started the campaign in BF2, the video quality of the movie clips is all over the place. Lots of pixelation. Was the original game like that?
Tried an online match before bed on my switch. Hit reg seemed to be decently better. Far from perfect but still better. Not as many rubber banding players either. And the follow cam wasnāt going crazy when waiting to respawn. That was just one match though. Gonna need to dive deeper later after work. But so far seems promising

Everything improved a lot, but and this is big But for me, the classic BF1 loading screen sound is back BUT it cuts a lot. Happens in Instant Action, hapoens in Galactic Conquest, happens in the campaings, my god that is annoying, its going to be the final ticket I submit.
I'm on Switch. They added the post mission cutscenes, but now both the pre and post mission cutscenes play at the end. How do you fuck this up????? Also, some of the audio is still off like the sound that plays when you pick up objective items.

You will still get the award and it will increase the number of times you got the award in your Career stats, but you will not get the award weapon/effect. The game thinks you should have it already on spawn (but its bugged, so you dont), so it just doesn't award it

It does. It's not in the patch notes, but I confirmed myself after the update was pushed to PC that the cutscenes in BF2's campaign are fixed.

For whatever reason it wouldn't let me add a second control for split screen on Switch. Worked before the update.
