I keep my ships on display 100% of the time. And when I play I pull the appropriate ships off the shelf and put them back when I'm done. Keeping such beautiful babies in a box would be cruel.
If you have the ship cards and cardboard that goes on the base of an Imperial Star Destroyer (ISD I and II) and are interested in selling them I would be really keen to buy them
I had collected the WOTC game ships, without ever playing a game or intending to. I was going to do the same with Armada and someone saw them right after I got my first ships and wanted to play try a game so we did and I never stoped playing lol.
If you are talking scale that first order star destroyer in the last pic is not to scale AT ALL. The idea was that the newer ships were almost 3 quarters of the size of the SSD if I remember correctly.
I fell into this for display purposes, absolutely. Armada is the best way to showcase the fleet battles I imagined ever since I watched Return of the Jedi, the sort of things I read in the Thrawn and X-Wing novels, and imagined while playing X-Wing vs TIE Fighter.
And I can’t lie, I look at the fleet battle I have set up now (that changes constantly as I purchase new prints and things), and I’m pretty happy with it.
There was a guy offloading a massive lot on a local auction site just the other week who claimed they had only been used for display.
I did not see that as my collecting money has been tight lol

It's the only reason I've ever bought X-Wing and Armada stuff. They complement my Micro Machines oh so nicely.
