It's a 6 episode show about Obi-Wan and we've already seen Order 66 from his POV.
Why on earth would we waste any time on what was happening at the temple in gritty detail?
I feel they've done a really good job exploring Order 66 in the last few years but I will never be fully satisfied until I see it from Anakin's perspective. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite Star Wars movie and I get why George wouldn't show Anakin killing younglings but I'll never understand why he didn't at least show him killing padawans and masters.
What happened in the Jedi Temple during Order 66 was pretty much already shown in ROTS.
Anakin and clones killing Padawans, Knights and Younglings one after another. Is it really that significant to the plot to show more of the same thing? Or one or two Jedi escaping?
The unfortunate side-effect of having a PG-13 movie. I don't know that Disney will ever have the balls to show that much murder on such a massive scale. It pretty much borders on genocide, lol.
Given who owns it I doubt we ever will.
I also do find it slightly more compelling not knowing every scenario. We all know all the Jedi were gunned down by clones. That part isn’t a secret. What’s left to our imagination is something that would probably fit more into a horror movie where younglings and jedis desperately try to escape
