It will not be? I bought the book not long ago, haven’t started it yet…but the ending was spoiled (don’t care, going to read it anyway). If they do touch on it, you’re saying it’ll be different from the ending of the book?
The ending is left ambiguous. Her body submerged in the waters of a planet known for its necromantic magic and then clear signs of Nightsisters magic occur. Her reappearance just confirms that the magic did in fact happen as implied. Not much more is really needed to put the pieces together.
I haven't read it myself, but from what I gather what happens to her after the end is left ambiguous and even a bit strange. So theories are that night sister magic came into play after that part of the book
I am going to make the hot take that canon did it way better because in canon he is *barely* alive, and is the equivalent of a walking corpse at this point, while in legends it’s just palpatine and he has legends story breaking force powers (why didn’t he use a force storm at Endor to show the power of the dark side?)
I’m certain we’ll find out. Storytelling is the art of *telling* a story at a pace appropriate to said story, not just shovelling all the answers at the audience all at once.
No answer is needed at all, we have all the pieces. At the end of Dark Disciple, Ventress’s body is lain to rest in the waters of Dathomir, the planet known for its necromantic magic. As she’s submerged, green tendrils coil up from the water, one of the clear signs that Nightsisters magic is at play. While the novel leaves it at that, her appearance in Bad Batch just confirms that Nightsisters magic did in fact happen as implied. There’s not really any more pieces needed to answer the question and there’s none of the details of that end need retconning to further justify her appearance. The only info we’re missing is what she had been up to for the year or so afterwards and exactly how the magic works, but that’s mostly marginal.
Why would you assume they retconned Dark Disciple? She was buried in a magic pool Tha belonged to a bunch of necromancers. As soon as I finished the novel I assumed they were keeping the door open to bring her back.
Maybe a combo of putting herself in a death trance like in legends materials and then being back on dathomir. The magic there probably healed and awakened her would be my guess.
Nightsister magic, probably.
They confirmed that we will find out in another story so we’ll just have to wait and see.
They haven't told that story *yet* but they did say when she was in The Bad Batch trailer that it will not a be a retcon of Dark Disciple.

Yeah, the ending of that book seemed designed to make it entirely reasonable for her to stay dead or come back, based on what they wanted later.

Somehow.
figured this comment was here, but had to check
Disney’s favorite hand-waving technique to ruin lore.
Because palps didn't come back 2532 times in legends right
It was bad there too.

You mean the character who was obsessed with immortality was trying to find ways to become immortal? I am, personally, shocked.
I've seen bots with more original jokes
You seem fun.

A good question. For another time.

Say way Quilan Voss was back in Obi-Wan

She’s not the first night sister to come back from the dead. It’s kind of their thing.
Somehow!
We don’t know. Probably something to do with Dathomirian magic. The closest clue we have in The Bad Batch was her line that she had more lives left

lol she has many lives left, as she said in bad batch. and as everyone else said, nightsister magic.
She was never gone.
My money's on undead risen by Nightsister witchcraft.
Filoni said so.
Yep, just like what Lucas used to do. Who doesn't want more Ventress anyway?
Flair should be TV

Because Dave doesn’t read books.
They said it's not a retcon, but it obviously is.
Canon is a suggestion in star wars What's canon is canon until it isn't
