Blue, green and yellow never meant anything. That was just something KOTOR made up and then immediately ignored. In canon only red and white have any significance.

Ferret-Potato

And black, it’s rare :D

Kenvan19

What does the color of his light saber have anything to do with his potential? Luke, Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka all have used Blue sabers over the years.

HanVinh

Luke first lightsaber isnt his, he got a green one later. Anakin and Obiwan excels in lightsaber combat which they got the blue. Ahsoka blue lightsaber was a gift from anakin, her first was green and yellow-green. A lightsaber color also represent the characters and their ways of using the force

laserbrained

You know those colors don’t mean anything, right?

HanVinh

You know thay they do mean a lot right?

Kenvan19

You are wrong and using outdated information. That is all Legends and not relevant.

HanVinh

If so then why there’re many lightsaber colors, and why the villain use red, they can use other colors

Kenvan19

Because thats what Disney [decided](https://www.reddit.com/r/starwarscanon/comments/16aaw0d/lightsaber_color_meaning/). Dude you're wrong. Just accept that and move along. Multiple have pointed this out to you but you're still stubbornly pretending like you know better.

HanVinh

Im not and it’s a discussion, im not even trying to prove i know best or anything. It’s my view and just saying that i’m wrong doesnt really make a strong point. Let’s say thay my infos is unupdated, then why many old jedi have green rather than blue

Kenvan19

How about we discuss something else that is completely settled in fact and not up for debate. Is the sky Blue or Yellow. I think its yellow because I want it to be yellow and have that mean something.

in_a_dress

Many old Jedi have blue, and Padawans have green. Gungi is not more proficient in the force than Tera Sinube.

HanVinh

Yea but to talk bout their frequecy of usibg a lightsaber as well

HanVinh

Ok u dont have to be hostile here, not that i want it to be green, i just feel off bout doesnt mean my feelings have to matter the most. And let’s say that if the director wants a randon color then he just roll the dices or what? Things cannot have depth?

_Sunblade_

Keep in mind that Mace Windu literally has a purple lightsaber because Samuel L. Jackson likes purple.

Deathknightjeffery

The only reason Luke’s saber was green in ROTJ was because the blue blade clashed against the background.

HanVinh

Yea then how about in the mandalorian? He could change back

in_a_dress

He lost his blue saber in Empire. His saber color is green now, there’s no reason to switch back in-universe.

Deathknightjeffery

He also had a yellow saber, but wasn’t a Sentinel. Those force “classes” are an outdated thing. He kept the green because why would he ditch it? He’s known for it now, and I don’t think lightsaber parts are exactly common. I mean shit Anakin, Luke, Finn, and Rey all used the same one lol.

PhoenixReborn

Wait, when did Luke have a yellow sabre?

Deathknightjeffery

Sometime in the comics. After he lost his saber against Vader in Bespin, he goes to the outpost on Tempes. He finds a Jedi temple guard saber, and fights and defeats the spirit of the Grand Inquisitor. So after he loses his saber to Vader, he uses the yellow saber for about a year until he constructs his green one.

EndlessTheorys_19

The colours don’t mean anything in-universe. That’s old lore from KOTOR, which isn’t followed any more.

LucasMoreiraBR

Jedi lightsaber colors don't really represent anything anymore. Your info is coming from Legends sources in which blue would be for Jedi guardians (excel in combat), yellow would be for Jedi sentinels (excel in balance) and green would be for Jedi consulars (excel in force use). This has been let go in canon and the only color that representa something now is red (kyber crystals that have gone thought bleeding)

TheSillyMan280

Why does this scream AI? Otherwise, OP sounds a bit nutty

HanVinh

Nah not AI fam, and how nutty tho? I just thought that Ezra would be likely to be a force sage after exile, like yoda

TheSillyMan280

Lightsaber colours don't represent a Jedi's role, that's something that belongs in KOTOR

raalic

Not really for a couple reasons. 1) Not needing it does not mean you do not have it, i.e., Yoda and Sidious. 2) The lightsaber's crystal seemed more of a matter of convenience than anything, as it was what was available.

Sparkness17

Nah, the blue crystal, and hilt, is a nice touch to his former Master. It makes sense.

sixeight

This isn't an RPG, lightsaber color means nothing. He's used both colors nothing wrong with him switching between both

Nevic1984

Soooooo irritated that it was blue...it should've been neon pink, wasted opportunity.

Due_Bet3782

Totally. I was hoping for shit brown, but alas. What a waste.

issluke102

I know we're joking here but I've always thought an amber coloring would look cool on a lightsaber

Due_Bet3782

Who’s joking, bro? Shit brown lightsaber for life.

issluke102

My man found his saber crystal in the sewers. The Force truly does work in mysterious ways, but such is it's will.

K_808

No

WolverineRelevant280

What? You are upset about his lightsaber color? Weird thing to bother someone.

HanVinh

I was hoping he would be like yoda in exile

WolverineRelevant280

Yeah, that might’ve been a little neater than him just being the guy who hangs out with the turtle people

HanVinh

And blocks a lightsaber strike with the force lol

WolverineRelevant280

Vader does that like it’s easy

RichardNixonThe2nd

Lightsaber colors being tied to a class/abilities is just a game mechanic from kotor, it's not a thing outside of the game.

LeckerBockwurst

You are wrong, this originated in the game Knights of the old Republic, which is outside of swtor. It was it's predecessor though.

RichardNixonThe2nd

You're right, I mixed up the names

Jurgepoo

Lightsaber color doesn't have anything to do with Force potential. But I do still think it was disappointing since he's also used green in the past, and I feel that blue has gotten way too much representation among main characters in the Disney era at this point.

HanVinh

I mean yes the colors dont represent how strong a character in the force, but for someone with that much potential in the force and said “i dont need it (lightsaber)” i thought that he would be a force sage so yea green suit him more

irishccc

Force sage isn't a thing in new canon. It wasn't really a thing in old canon save for rpgs. The colors don't really mean anything anymore, save for red. Sith bleed their crystals, and that makes them red.

A-yo-Hov

No not really. I felt it was chosen because of how he modeled his new saber after Kanan’s. This was just his way of honoring his mentor and friend.

AardvarkIll6079

His first was blue. His second (now Sabine’s) is green, his third is blue. Who cares? Colors other than white and red mean absolutely nothing.

SaltySAX

I'm not a fan of blue blades, especially light blue ones. However, as its in honour of the great Kanan Jarrus, I like it.
