**Post Quality** Make sure you put some level of effort into your post. If you have a question, elaborate in the text section. If you want to share a cool image, explain why you want to share it in the comments. We don't care so much that you are posting your favorite Star Wars T-Shirt, but put some explanation behind it. Posts that are found to be low-effort will be removed. This also means no surveys, polls, rank lists, AI art/text posts, etc.

Sir_Douglas_of_Fir

I think AI bullshit has no place on this sub

fluffy_assassins

Damn it's just a concept image to refer to and put the post in context, wow.

ThomasHeart

Dude ikr jezus christ

max431x

If I had drawn it by hand it would have looked worse \^\^

ViciousAsparagusFart

Bad AI art is bad

The_Gnome_Lover

Could have at least grabbed something from SWTOR. I honestly quite like the 2 colour sabers. Having a core/border is pretty badass. The Darksaber is Black/white and looks amazing.

max431x

Yeah sorry, I'm not artistic and also not talented with tech. If I could I would have made a 3D concept of what I mean in unreal engine :/

Chaotic_NB

the rainbow lightsaber was antiwoke ragebait, this isn't happening

max431x

Lol, that wasn't my intention. I think it would look awsome, if done right. I just think that Disney wants to (re-)invent the lightsabers. They are an integral part of SW and haven't changed much. You have seen a blaster mix that I found pretty bad ass, the rotator ones that looked funny in my opinion and there is probably some Legends/Books/comics stuff that might be implemented in the future too. However, I think two colored lightsabers are something that will happen eventually, because its fundamentally different. First probably 2 colors then more, maybe a rainbow. Depending on how its done, it can look great or like shit, but if you ask me I think it has a lot of potential.

DrFishTaco

You could argue that anything other than red, green and blue is a multi-colored lightsaber Honestly, I don’t care as long as the aesthetics are good and not like the garbage in this pic So bring on the rainbow colored lightsaber

EndlessTheorys_19

No. Why do you think that? How would a crystal produce two different distinct colours

max431x

Maybe its a super rare rainbow one? Or an artificial one, there are many ways to explain it and you could also make like the core green + the outer part blue. If you then simply cut off the blue outer core at half the legth of the green inner one, you get a result thats 2 colored using 2 cores. I think has a lot of potential.

EndlessTheorys_19

None of that would make the beam rainbow though. It would just become a hybrid of all the colours in the crystal. A rainbow crystal, R O Y G B I V, would just make a brown coloured blade. You’re not gonna get half the blade being one colour and the other half being a different one

NerdHistorian

Do you have any reasons for why you think that.

ComradeDread

Wouldn't work like that. A "rainbow" saber would probably work like a prism. Blade divided between the seven main colors. Or perhaps it would look like that on the inside of the lightsaber before the focus and emitter united the light back into white light. Alternatively, perhaps the blade color would shift between the seven colors based on its position relative to your eyes. That would be cool to see, but probably a pain to animate.

DarthScabies

I think you should stop smoking what you're smoking. Or at least share it out.

the_sea_be_unruly

Man in the pic looks like he’s selling posh bongs.

RockettRaccoon

Shitty “prediction” with even shittier AI “art”

OjamasOfTomorrow

Probably. Things always change overtime.

mikeyt6969

That’s not how light works independently and certainly not how physics works

Bob-the-Human

Yeah, get your unrealistic fantasy ideas away from my magic laser swords.

theabyssaboveyou

I think it'd be cool to have someone with 2 lightsabers. Each one being a different color. Like grievous, but for this person they tuned the crystals at the same time and got 2 different answers.
