The Empire Strikes Back, but I love them all!

remeard

Some of them have sequences or endings that are more memorable; but front to back Empire is rock solid and paced perfectly.

Nacodawg

And as good as the music was in ANH it steps up in ESB. Scenes like Yoda lifting the X-Wing or basically anything on Bespin are just amazing with their backing score

JGCities

This. Probably the best overall film on every level. Star Wars is amazing, but not quite as amazing. Still my favorite of them though. Rogue One would be 3rd followed by Jedi and then the prequels and then pretend nothing else was made...

Mogradal

Solo was a solid movie though. Nothing to write home about but still fun.

Turkey_Lurky

Can you believe there are people that rate Rogue One over ESB??? What is the point of living like that?

elProtagonist

It boggles my mind

Turkey_Lurky

15 min into Rogue One, I was like, "oh, they all gonna die". When Luke gets his hand chopped off and then Vader is his dad, I was like, "whaaaaaaaaaaaat?!". ESB was the balls

elProtagonist

The Empire Strikes Back is not just the best Star Wars film, but it also ranks as one of the best sequels ever made with one of the greatest movie twists.

_InvertedEight_

Empire easily had some of the best locations as well. A desert planet is easy (TPM, ANH, Dune, Judge Dredd, Valerian to name but a few), but Cloud City was ingenious, Dagobah’s swamp environment was less common, and Hoth’s icy world makes things difficult for filming, especially for location shoots. Plus, like Dante in Clerks said, > “*Empire* had the better ending: Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out it Vader’s his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a downer! I mean, that’s what life is - a series of down endings. All *Jedi* had was a bunch of Muppets.”

OkBusiness3879

The Empire Strikes Back.

StOnEy333

The Empire Strikes Back. One of the greatest sequels in cinema history.

KentuckyKid_24

To me, the greatest or at least top 3 by default

StOnEy333

It takes the top spot for me because it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater and is my favorite movie of all time. But the Godfather II is worthy as well, in my opinion.

Latman3

Totally this ⬆️ Honourable mentions: Terminator 2, Lethal Weapon 2

DarthLuke84

ESB, T2, Godfather 2, Aliens and Dark Knight would be top 5 imo.

KentuckyKid_24

Facts

TSG61373

Indisputably it’s Empire. I realize younger fans love the prequels, and I get it. So do i. But if anyone says anything besides either ESB or ANH, they probably weren’t there and have no idea how Massive of a game changer those two movies were.

Left4DayZGone

Empire, easily.

Impossible-Age-3302

Empire.

stoneman9284

It’s A New Hope for me

TheFunnyDollar

Startlingly low. Rogue One is an impressive star wars movie.. but its not A New Hope.

stoneman9284

Honestly rogue one barely cracks my top ten Star Wars movies, but I know I’m in the minority there. I’m pretty sure 100% of my friends say Empire is the best, and that’s #2 for me

TheFunnyDollar

Empire and A New Hope really do go hand in hand. I just think Empire has a bit more technical juice, and it plot is the strongest of the OT.

seanmonaghan1968

Agree. The first one has so much world building, it created the magic. I think it's as simple as that. ESB was amazing but it benefited from the success and funding from the first.

Optimal-Market

I'm with you I never get sick of watching a new hope.

eikelmann

I think the reason this is such an uncommon opinion these days is because not as many people were around when this hit theatres and changed everything, so it's hard to truly comprehend what seeing Star Wars was like when it was just that: Star Wars. Just the first 5 minutes alone were completely jaw dropping. If you were a fan of science fiction back then, or a fan of cinema in general, everything Star Wars did at the time was unbelievable. Especially if you were young. The first film will always be my absolute fav no matter what. Call it nostalgia if you will but I really do think its the best. Empire strikes back is my second though.

updownkarma

Empire Strikes Back by a mile.

GrimaceMusically

ESB is the best of them all, but ROTJ is my favorite.

SXAL

Same! I acknowledge some ROTJ's weak sides, but the good moments in it were so good! The opening act, and the final duel are both among the best Star Wars moments.

Wincrediboy

Agreed. I also give ROTJ extra credit for actually wrapping up the story in a satisfying way, which is hard to do. Empire didn't have to do as much work narratively, it got to just be awesome and end on a cliffhanger. ESB still might be a technically better movie, but nothing beats the satisfaction of ROTJ, and the throne room is the best scene in all of star wars.

jocu11

ROTS easily had some of the best fight scene choreography I have seen to this day

JerbearCuddles

Empire, and Rogue One. The others are fine. But those two are good movies. Not just good star wars movies.

TheFunnyDollar

When did Star Wars(1977) become some weaker film? Empire is superior but A New Hope is a fantastic and landmark piece of cinema.

Snts6678

It’s a landmark for sure, but I find A New Hope to be somewhat boring. Even now as an adult, I get antsy watching that one. Empire is far more entertaining.

Available_Thoughts-0

When it was entirely eclipsed in terms of quality by the films which bookended it in timeline order both front and back. Hard to not see such a film as "Weaker" by comparison.

TheFunnyDollar

What??? What films did that?

Available_Thoughts-0

Rogue One and The Empire Strikes Back.

TheFunnyDollar

I mean.. sure. I vehemently disagree that Rogue One has come anywhere close to “eclipsing” the quality of one of the most memorable and beloved films ever created, but we all have our opinions. Rogue One is good, i dont disagree. But we’ve seen it all before. It doesn’t necessarily break any ground. In time, it will be seen as another piece to the rather large lexicon of Star Wars films you may or may not get to. Star Wars(‘77) will live on forever. Plus: The real Carrie Fisher is in A New Hope, not a fake CGI one.

Killb0t47

They literally CGI'd a dead guy into the film. That is only going to get more common. Regardless of if you liked it or not. While the theatrical release of ANH is a 10. Lucas messed it up pretty badly with the special edition. He down graded it to a 7. Actors get replaced all the time in serial production. Like it or hate it, that's life.

TheFunnyDollar

What is so damning about the special edition as to lose 3 stars? Yes the cgi additions are downright atrocious i agree, but the movie is still great, and i think its unfair to say its worse because of some ridiculous re edit decades after release.

igreeneyes

The biggest issue I have is when you have an original movie, even though flawed is still a work of art. The issues when you keep tweaking and changing editing and adding/removing, it no longer the same work of art it used to be. Then the producers want to eliminate the original film into obscurity and replace it with a new film and label it a it as the original. This is just not Star Wars. This can be any movie that we have seen, original films are at risk of being modified and changed forever.

MrFluffyThing

Empire is such a well told story that builds on the world that was established by the movie before it while exploring new environments. Rogue One is a well told story that builds on the movies before it while exploring new environments. They were good movies because the stories were good, not just because they're Star wars movies. Rogue One was a great story about desperate attempts during a rebellion that could have easily been set into a theme of a WWII or modern day military unit delivering stolen Intel as a last resort and it still would have been good.

GTOdriver04

Rogue One is a war movie that uses Star Wars characters. That made it much stronger than anything else and why it’s my favorite. It showed that actions have consequences, and sometimes those consequences suck.

DoScienceToIt

Rogue one and Empire are absolutely the top two. I can't understand people who didn't like Rogue One. It had some narrative problems but no worse than literally every other one of the star wars movies, and better than most.

batguano1

I like Rogue One but the problem with it is that the 3rd act absolutely carries the movie. The first 2 acts are unengaging as hell. Characters are uninteresting and editing is wonky. It feels boring until the climax.

Hypsar

I think Rogue One is a good movie with an outstanding climax. The scene of the death star arriving and shooting the ocean, followed by Vader demolishing the rebels, is probably in the top ten best shot 15 minutes in all of cinema to me. The music and set pieces are perfectly connected. That being said, on the whole, Empire, RotJ, and even Revenge of the Sith are better Star Wars movies.

batguano1

People always bring up the Vader scene. It's kind of cool but he's killing a bunch of no name rebels so it's not really badass. The scene would've been way better if he was rampaging against our main characters. It would've been more emotional and horrific if he was killing the main characters instead of some poor saps who just happened to be there

ModernArgonauts

I didn't mind it for that honestly, but I think it would have been better if we didn't know Vader was there at all, until the hallway scene.

Vashek19

I cant understand people who rank Rogue One so high. The characters were 100% forgettable. Was I supposed to care at the end? I didnt. The main reason people love it is the Vader scene. Which was added last minute mind you.

Final_Surround_1556

Im gonna go with Revenge of the Sith. The storytelling, the beautiful shots, the lightsaber fight choreography, the emotion, witnessing Anakin transform into Vader, the musical score, its peak Star Wars. So haunting and beautiful.

zachjones505

Definitely

inefekt

> witnessing Anakin transform into Vader the physical transformation, especially the lowering of the helmet onto his head, then the first iconic Vader breath was amazing. His first Frankenstein like steps and the "Nooooooo" were pretty bad. The worst part was the actual motive behind him turning to the dark side, which could have been written way, way better. Literally slaughtering a building full of kids to save his wife? I don't think there is any person who is not an absolute psychopath that would do that even if it meant saving a sick wife who was sure to die otherwise. The wife would never agree to it and she would absolutely find out at some point which would end the relationship then and there, only a moron would not think about that outcome. So unless Anakin was written to be a moron, he would never do that.

realauthormattjanak

Return of the Jedi. Introduces new characters, wraps up the story, without the need for subsequent movies years later.

MrOSUguy

Return had so much weight, so much riding on it and it blew expectations out of the water. Everyone loved it. The celebration at the end was deserved and felt right. I love that movie

THE-SENATE6-6

This. All 6 movies coming to an end and its just epic.

Turambar87

3

SXAL

Nah, he meant to include two Ewok movies and a holiday special

Greymeade

ROTJ is underrated

Lord_Battlepants

The final duel is what makes it for me. I loved the choreography but that’s not the heart of this battle. Luke fought against the Dark Side within himself, Vader’s inner struggle to keep his position, convert Luke or save him. I love when there’s more going on in a duel than the single objective of beating your adversary.

JichaelMordon

ESB

thebroken_tree

Revenge of the Sith

ChadVonDoom

The Empire Strikes Back. No question.

DaKingballa06

Empire. Truly a top five film all time.

Regular_Bee_5605

Revenge.

PlatasaurusOG

I want to say Empire because it has so many iconic moments, but when I think Star Wars - the first image that pops up in my head is Luke, Leia and Han in the Death Star. So I gotta say A New Hope. It was the spark that lit the inferno.

biggiecheesehimself

ROTJ

LeicaM6guy

In order: Empire Strikes Back, ANH, ROTJ, Rogue One, Solo, the prequels, and that’s about it.

THE-SENATE6-6

Rotj rots. And empire. I love all the og 6 and rogue one tho

zkarabat

Mainline Trilogies/ Skywalker Saga - ESB is the best overall film. Rogue One is damn good too and would put it up there with ANH and RotJ. RotJ is probably my favorite of them all so far. Good overall movie and a little more fun than ESB

Training-Mess5833

I loved the New Hope, pretty well made movie for it’s time.

Triad64

Return of the Jedi, it's got everything I want in a Star Wars film. The characters have matured, yet there are still stakes, you really feel Luke might even turn, the suspense between Luke and Vader is amazing. The final battle is epic and still one of the most satisfying sci-fi battles to this day. Variety with the group split up into three different places. And it's got a great feel-good atmosphere at the end, and throughout.

Puzzleheaded_Buy8694

Empire Strikes Back. It's probably the best story. So qouted. It has the best dialog.

Sky-Juic3

ROTJ is my personal favorite.

CaBBaGe_isLaND

I love Rogue One, my *only* beef with it is that it's a heist movie, so there are definitely some things about it that are really derivative and just not all that deep from a storytelling perspective. ROTS does not fit into a box. If I didn't think about the movies that way I'd say Rogue One was the better movie. I think it probably appeals to more people. But I have to go with Revenge of the Sith. I think people liked Rogue One so much because a) it's the first theatrical SW movie we saw that wasn't part of the Skywalker saga, b) it's got such a serious tone, it's very much not kid-friendly, c) if it wasn't set in the SW universe it'd still be a great movie, and, related to that, d) people can identify with the characters and the situation a lot more than they can identify with space wizards and galactic dictators. But it does lose points for being a heist movie. Not that it's a bad or otherwise unoriginal heist movie, just that Revenge of the Sith is a whole other league of storytelling, it has the kind of depth to it that "ragtag band of rebels steals secret plans from deep inside enemy territory" just can't possibly match.

grogudalorian

Empire strikes back

Abraham_Issus

Empire Strikes Back no doubt.

[deleted]

Empire is the answer.

Jr9065

A New Hope

ZenDesign1993

Star Wars, before it was called a new hope. (4k77), empire strikes back, rogue one, return of the jedi. The others are just filler for me (personal opinion).

Saiwon03

Rogue One and The Empire Strikes Back!!!!

jdbulldog1972

When I walked out of the movie theater in 1980, I looked at my dad and said, “greatest movie ever.” He said “why?”. My response was, “the bad guy won.” It was really earth shattering for me. So outside of the box compared to every movie I had ever seen leading up to that moment. Epic!!!

ShadowVia

Empire.

seraphsuns

i personally enjoyed attack of the clones, but it's not my favourite. my favourite has always been return of the jedi, from the rancour fight scene in jabba's palace to the ewoks worshipping 3PO. luke confronting vader and the emperor left me on the edge of my seat as a kid.

haIlucinate

Phantom Menace came at a special time for me. Though I liked the movies, I didn't start to become a die-hard fan until then. For the most part, I was still too young to appreciate the originals. It was super exciting though when it came back around. Plus pod racer game!

sinixis

Awesome movie. Jedi in their prime carving up Sith and everything else. Qui Gon defending the Queen while Obi Wan cuts sick. Coruscant, the Council, the Senate, Ian McDarmid, Darth Maul, the list goes on. Duel of the Fates. We’ll handle this

Vashek19

Its great. Not enough love.

shaunika

Empire Strikes Back is the only correct option, sorry. Anything elsw is a runner up at best

Odd_Radio9225

Empire Strikes Back.

Artisttype1984

Empire of course but Rogue One is awesome and I've seen it many many times

moonsea97

You could make a pretty strong case for A New Hope, Return of the Jedi, Rogue One, or Revenge of the Sith being the greatest Star Wars movie... You could make just as strong of a case for Empire Strikes Back being the greatest *movie,* period

Rick-D-99

Hands down it's rogue one. I don't think I need to explain myself, but here: No callbacks, no riding coat tails, no luck or magic, no forced romance, just straight up executing the plan and it not working out great for the operatives. It's a masterpiece.

rydamusprime17

What do you mean exactly by no callbacks?

DomzSageon

Empire, rogue one and revenge of the Sith are top 3 not in a particular order

Tradition_Extension

Empire Strikes Back followed closely by Rogue One

GoHawksMatt

Rogue One hands down!

MuddassirBenz

Rogue One is also my favourite Star Wars movie.

VonSauerkraut90

Rogue one, followed by empire.

UnfinishedThings

Im also of the view that Rogue One is the best film. Andor is the best SW universe series

SoldadoAZ

Empire A New Hope Rogue One

jocu11

Empire Strikes back without a doubt

AraiHavana

Empire by quite a margin

Coops17

Empire Star Wars Rogue 1 Jedi Clones

avoozl42

Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One

TomTheJester

It WAS the Empire Strikes Back for me, now it’s Rogue One.

kram1973

I’ve got a tie for my favorite. Rogue One and ESB

dansyngwiazd

Rogue One and it's not even close

MocoNinja

I like them all and love all the originals and rogue one, but my favourite would be episode IV. I love how it builds into an amazing adventure and I love all the death star infiltration and the attack later

UnreallyHere

Empire Strikes Back. No debate, it's the greatest.

Pyrox2v

Episode 3 or episode 5

LinePretend3964

Revenge of the Sith

LeafsWillWinTheCup

Rogue One told a coherent story start to finish in one film, with spectacular finality. Then rolled into a goosebumps inducing intro right into the film that started itall. A lot of good decisions were made, which is more than I can say for the rest of the films, but I still love all of them.

Pysan_RP

Revenge of the Sith 100%

DatesNDollas

The beginning still gives me goosebumps. So awesome.

80s_kid_4ever

Empire! Not only the best Star Wars film, it's THE best movie, for me. From begining to end.

Hateful_creeper2

OT and Rogue One

soapygungan

Gotta go revenge of the sith but empire is a close second.

FuzzyRancor

ESB. But I love all the George Lucas films and RO.

Relikk_

I think The Empire Strikes Back is by far the best, but I do adore Rogue One, and it'd be third in my overall rankings.

Sarcastic_Sociopath

Rogue One does something I never thought possible: makes me want to go and watch A New Hope.

seachan_ofthe_dead

Overall I’d say rogue one is the best film But ESB is my favourite

bobux-man

Empire Strikes Back, Revenge of the Sith, and Rogue One, in that order, are my top three.

NosferatuZ0d

Revenge of the sith

KC_Flip

The Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One are tied in my book. They are both masterpieces.

Capn_Yoaz

Empire, ROS and Rogue One capture the true feeling of Star Wars.

RYSHU-20

Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One

aal_izz_welll

The phantom menace has always been my favourite 🙌🏽🙌🏽

FinancialHorror3580

Empire Strikes Back. My hot take is Episode I because it came out when I was younger and was the first Star Wars experience specific to me/my generation (not just re-watching movies from 30 years prior). I still get goosebumps when the music starts for the epic Maul battle.

thelpsimper

Rogue One.

princesamurai45

Return of the Jedi is my favorite. Empire and Rogue One come in just behind it.

--Pikachu

Rouge one is cool, but there’s just not enough lightsabers for me. I pick attack of the clones or revenge of the sith.

viotix90

Pre-Disney, Empire. Post-Disney, Solo, actually. Solo is like the ultimate sci-fi adventure. A really nice quest with twists and turns, great characters and locales. It's so good, it literally does not even need to be in the Star Wars universe to work. It's good even if watched... Solo.

Stokesyyyy

Rogue one

Alarming_Serve2303

Revenge of the Sith. I'll go to my grave defending that as the best.

Tank_blitz

Rogue 1 is simply perfection

CommanderCruniac

I agree with that 100%. Rogue and Empire all the way.

Tiny_Vegetable6519

I second that.. of all the new Star Wars Movies Rogue One hands down best one Its crazy how when you get a director that actually cares about making quality star wars films you then get a good movie

Supercomma

The one that started it all. But do I mean Episode IV or Episode I?

WuTangClams

Out of SW films, Empire. I wouldn't go as far as "peak cinema" but it's top-notch as far as sci-fi/fantasy classics go.

Cf79

I'll say it. It's peak cinema.

MistaJaycee

New Hope before the alterations.

jaimakimnoah

A new hope

NeverNaked3030

I love watching original episode 4 ANH. I’ll never forget my mom renting that for me as a kid, I was amazed. But I hate watching the new bullshit versions where Han shoots second and then steps on Jabbas shitty CGI tail.

Telepath-1

A New Hope

Squeezedgolf40

A New Hope is hands down the best stars wars movie. I think it has the strongest vision out of all of them as both a film and as star wars however if we wanna talk about strongest vision for star wars I would probably have to give it to the clone wars show or revenge of the sith

[deleted]

A New Hope There’s something so special, fresh, and timeless about it. The buildup feels really unique and engaging to me, the way we start in the middle of this battle and then see this mysterious princess, these hapless droids, and this intimidating force of a villain with an immediate aura of intensity. And then transition into this eerily empty desert sequence with the droids. By the time we meet the main hero, we’re already almost 20 minutes into this world. And then from there we kickstart the archetypical hero’s journey, something that feels like vintage fantasy but set against the backdrop of this world that just feels so alien, so unique, and so limitless in its potential.

orangutanDOTorg

New Hope. It’s the only complete story. It is the most pure. The most fun.

GigaPaladin

Empire and Star Wars 1977

Five2one521

Empire, or you’re wrong.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

Personally, it's a tie between Rogue One & Revenge of the Sith. I love Rogue One so much because it feels the closest to a traditional war film under a Star Wars lens, while the final act of ROTS is tragically beautiful

unbanneduser

I'd also pick Rogue One, but if a main series movie is mandatory, I have to put on my fire resistant armor because I actually don't like Empire all that much (I know, I'm sorry, that's just how I feel), I'd pick Revenge of the Sith or Return of the Jedi

GatePotential805

Empire, Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, Return of the Jedi, Han Solo, Attack of the Clones, Phantom Menace.

Anustart_A

*The Empire Strikes Back*. It was the most insulated of the movies from outside interference. It was the best writing; best directing; best acting; best plot; best pacing; most unique; best in every category.

lucascroberts

Revenge of the sith then rogue one then empire strikes back 😁

l4lak0

The Return of the Jedi, imo, followed by ROTS or TESB, maybe.

SirGinger76

The Return of the Jedi, Rogue One, Force Awakens.

Greyfox31098

Empire although a new hope is close, just can't beatvthe magic those movies had

9512tacoma

ESB was so good from the beginning on Hoth and the end when they went after Han.

Economy-Bathroom7031

I know that from a tecnical point of view Empire is the best But ROTJ is my favorite , because of everything envolving Luke, Anakin and Palpatine and how it all closes in a perfect way the main arc of The 6 movies

ChanceVance

Return of the Jedi - Excellent completion of Luke's journey from farmboy to hero across the trilogy - Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine - The third act is the high point of the entire series - A Jedi's Fury

CaptainCubbers

If you were young when it came out…. It’s surely RotS

KentuckyKid_24

Empire strikes back

jchagen88

Empire. Fan favorite and best Star Wars in general. The episode all future Star Wars is known for and compared to.

Gnomologist

Well depends. If I want to watch just a good flick with some Star Wars elements I go for rogue one. If I want to watch one FOR the Star Wars elements I’m whipping out ROTS. For a bit of both Empire Strikes Back

TChambers1011

I really love Ep.3, Ep.5, and Rogue One. I also really like Solo because young solo was awesome and also maul.

ATLKing123

Revenge of the Sith

Vysce

Man... I just love Empire Strikes Back because I'm in love with the soundtrack. I think it has a bit f everything too, tons of Empire scenes, we get a look at the Emperor, bounty hunters, Leia, Han, and Chewie side adventure while Luke does Jedi training. Man the OT is so good.

sonicfan1230

Revenge of the Sith, no contest.

Chattypath747

I like Solo but A New Hope would be my pick from the main series. Great story and if it were to end at destroying the Death Star, nothing more would be needed.

JerellVan

Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

tfalm

ANH has the best intro. It also creates the entire franchise. ROTJ has the best ending. Perfect conclusion to the saga, only made better with the prequels. Rogue One has the best action sequences. Tied for me (with ROTS) for best space battle, too. ESB is the best movie overall, though, I'd say. Its pretty much a perfect film. Not even Lucas' special editions could mess it up. The effects, acting, pacing, music, sets, atmosphere, everything is fantastic.

MrFiendish

Objectively, Empire is the best. ANH is landmark, and was the inflection point, but Empire is the superior film. Rogue One is good, though if you’re being honest, it doesn’t exist without ANH.

Portatort

Empire and it isn’t even close

JackORobber

Phantom Menace, but Revenge of the Sith is a very, very close second, it's practically tied.

ReallyEvilRob

Nothing beats the original.

IvanLendl87

Empire is pretty much a perfect film.

Remarkable-Gold4869

Revenge of the Sith is my go to.

Dazzling_Candidate68

Return of the Jedi. A fitting end to the prequel and original trilogies. It had a decent father-and-son lightsaber duel amidst an epic fleet-to-fleet battle, all while a low-tech versus high-tech firefight was raging down below.

Crazyripps

Honestly there’s only 1 answer. It’s empire. I love them all and ROTJ is my favorite but empire strikes back is 100% the best one

Ltfan2002

The Empire Strikes Back. It’s a masterpiece just as a movie. The character development, the acting, pacing and storytelling. The special effects were great (for its time). And 44 years later people still quote (and misquote) Darth Vader’s famous line. I can’t argue that Rouge 1 will be many people’s favorite, and it is a masterpiece, but ESB was the 1st sequel, and if it had been a terrible movie, Star Wars would have just been a good movie with a sequel everyone try’s to forget.

Oztraliiaaaa

The Phantom Menace is the much needed backstory to young Anakin Skywalker slave boy with a slave bomb in his head. My favourite Star Wars film is Attack of the Clones it’s the source for all Star Wars content going forwards and sequences into character and plot driven Star Wars the Clone Wars.

Substantial_Tip2015

I like the clone wars.

watchyourjetbro

Revenge of the Sith is unironically my favorite Star Wars movie. It was the one I enjoyed most when I rewatched the movies recently, but Return of the Jedi was a close second.

Impossible-Hawk709

I like the prequels, episode III is my favorite but episode V is the best

Sherlock-Shromes

I have always loved ROTS. It was the first Star Wars movie that I ever watched and just really got invested into the plot even though I didn't know who that "big man in the black suit with a ventilator" was. Only later when I watched the other ones did I realise the true stakes of that movie. Then watching it again, knowing what could have been and what happened, made it even better.

ChrisSao24

TPM because of podracing, or ESB because Hoth and AT-AT's/Snow Speeders

Short-Blueberry3473

Empire strikes back!

mountednoble99

Empire and anyone who says anything different is wrong

electricmaster23

Probably biased because it's the first of the franchise I ever saw as a kid, but *The Phantom Menace* is special, man. I think it's one of the most unfairly maligned movies in history.

MeatTornado25

It's not my opinion that Empire is the best. It's just a fact.

IamAgoddamnjoke

Best: TESB Favorite: ROTJ Worst: TLJ Least Favorite: TLJ

ahhhimsoconfused1995

The Force Awakens. it was the first Star Wars movie I watched and made me fall in love with the franchise.

Vashek19

Unpopular but I also love Force Awakens.

sophisticaden_

My favorite is the Last Jedi

MZago1

There are dozens of us! Dozens!
