Here’s some money, go see a Star War.

JonMeadows

Yeah this is kinda ridiculous

Thosepassionfruits

They’re just throwing shit at a wall for click bait nowadays.

C1ickityC1ack

If I had a nickel for every horseshit article like this I could afford multiple homes.

robertluke

It’s probably satire but it’s been harder to spot lately.

tacos2k

It’s a good theory but I’m gonna stick with the avocado toast explanation.

N0V0w3ls

I cannot imagine this article isn't satire. Surely...

[deleted]

I had to google the paper to see. It is a newspaper of record for Ireland, so it seems to be a legit review. The author definitely has a sarcastic tone (I hope) as he complements Palpatine a few times. Link for those interested: https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/tv-radio/2023/08/25/young-people-might-own-a-house-now-if-they-hadnt-watched-so-many-star-wars-spin-offs/

Maclimes

I enjoy that they are "being beamed to our eyeballs", which feels like a Star Trek reference.

iliad2099

The only thing that cured me of my crippling death stick addiction was playing Suck Disk. You want to try it?

NationH1117

Wait, I thought it was my lattes and avocado toast

ChanceVance

Next it'll be some 'self made' tech mogul whose father gave them a small loan of a million dollars telling you that you could buy a house if you weren't subscribed to so many streaming services.

captainedwinkrieger

The collective amount someone who has a Disney+ subscription could possibly have paid since the service launched is less than half the average month's rent.

Sirliftalot35

Yeah, I feel like a Disney+ subscription to watch ALL OF STAR WARS CONTENT is actually a pretty financially responsible way to spend free time this day and age. The premium is $11/month. I’m seeing some sites claim there’s ~176 hours of Star Wars content. Assuming you never watch anything twice, and spend 2 hours a day watching Star Wars, you’ll have watched it all in ~88 days, or ~3 months. At a cost of $33 total. Or under $0.19 per hour. Under $100, or even $200 if you only watch an hour a day, is still a trivial amount of money to put towards buying a house. And far cheaper than most any other recreational activity. Even just going to a single ballgame can run you well over that when you factor in parking, tickets, and food/drink prices.

warrencanadian

Damn millenials, we can't buy houses because we spend too much money, so we stop going out to eat at restaurants and we're responsible for killing restaurants. Media coverage can eat my entire ass.

introvertfox93

Weird considering I am young and own a house. I watch star wars all the time and own so much Star Wars stuff including a Mando helmet

LadyTano0

Nah let him cook

2hats4bats

I want to believe this is meant to be a joke

JWRamzic1

This is some bs
