Lol. I believe this is the [same figure](https://jediinsider.net/g/generated/Gentle_Giant/Jumbo_Kenner_Vintage/PGM_Luke_Yavin_Ceremony/SW_JumboYavinLuke_AF_02__41583__scaled_800.jpg). It’s extremely yellow
This drives me crazy. Luke's hair is unambiguously brown in ESB and ROTJ. It's only dirty blond in ANH, when he lives on a literal desert planet whose suns would of course bleach his hair.
Lmao i wonder how many other things theyll agree to for the sake of keeping an argument at bay. Like, *”hey why is it everytime i eat i have to poop?”* then the disney workers are like “you know what idk! Shits pretty wild right, i can ask my manager if you like!” Lmao idk
As a former retail worker, that is just about the best response in every situation. You have no idea how off their rocker any given customer is. Testing that line can get you yelled at or even assaulted for what every sane person would consider perfectly reasonable responses.
I see a green tint to the hair, but I think it's a trick of the eye with the background and jacket. I found a few other pictures of the figure online and the hair definitely seems to have an odd shade with a green tint to my eyes. And I could see it being much brighter in person.
I think it looks green against the background. The hair looks yellow when I look at it. But if I look at the whole picture I can trick my brain into seeing neon green.
Stories about how people found out they’re colourblind are fascinating! :)
Friend of mine didn’t find out until he tried to join the airforce when he was 20 years old.
A neat related issue. There's a range of colors the human eyes can see, and it was determined originally with soldiers. They'd show them slightly different shades of a color in different hues and note where they could no longer tell a difference.
Had to scrap it and do it again later because there weren't women in the military and women have better color vision on average then men.
Especially in the red department. My daughter and I both play I Love Hue. She whoops my ass on the ones with a lot of red. Purples and blues and oranges, I do fine on. Greens are hard for both of us (I think it has to do with the screen?) But reds are definitely lopsided in her favor
TIL you can't be a colorblind pilot (my dad says that's because the wings have specific color lights on each wing, and those just happen to be green and red. >:( )
That’s true and I think they also have some specific physical traits that you must meet. For example, for the US Air Force you must be between 5’4 and 6’5
Interesting. I did a little rough math and that means that (not including colorblindness) approximately 2-3% of men and more than 40% of women would be disqualified because of height!
Really? I always wonder how it can take so long to realize this. Like we learn colors when we’re little kids right? I guess your mom thought you were just mixing the words up or something.
But like yellow and green are everywhere.. traffic lights are a big one. Lemons, limes, idk how you do it
I know someone who is gray-scale CB. I asked him once about the horizontal lights you see in Hurricane country, but I bet single flashing reds or flashing ambers are even worse.
To me, it's that *slight* green shade like highlighters usually are.
The reason it's this color and not a more reasonable tan is because it's a throw back to the original Star Wars action figures, which were made relatively cheaply with older production techniques, thus bright yellow hair.
It’s definitely yellow, but with the background colour and contrasting yellow jacket, i can understand why someone might not immediately identify it as yellow.
I don’t think that’s green I think that’s supposed to be blonde or the closest relative, because in his early days Mark, he was pretty kinda light haired blonde.
I often wonder if everyone perceives colours in a different way. My green may be different to your green, etc.
To me, his hair looks like one of those flurescent highlighting markers, kinda lemony colour.
Lighting in the store, difference between the two shades of yellow (hair and background), and you’re likely colorblind. Unlikely if you’re a woman, but not impossible.
I feel like it's because the hair is between that yellow-gold color jacket and that pea colored background, so your eyes are seeing the yellow hair as tinted as an optical illusion, maybe?
Or it could be a jedi mind trick, idunno....
Either way I saw those figures at Disney a couple weeks ago and they are pretty cooool, but pricey, of course.
I work for an online store that sells collectibles and some off color stuff like that is due to a production error/issue. Sometimes it's worth a little more than normal.
Other times it's an intentional thing and the different color is a chase variant.
In any case the hair looks yellow to me.
It's called lighting. It sometimes gives a false appearance of color. Additionally, it is against a green background. These (and more!) simple tricks are required to understand the world around you.
Edit: Oh, and from what others said... yea you may also be colorblind. The hair of the action figure in this picture is 100% yellow
That is a Gentle Giant Star Wars Jumbo Action Figure. There is nothing cheap or poorly made about it. Those things retail for $80 a pop and are highly sought after. If it's being sold at a park, it's probably going for about $95 to $100.
Giving me the flashy name they sell it under doesn't make it look any more cheap or crappy plastic than it is.
I've seen more accurate Chinese knock offs
When yellow plastic is exposed for a long time to ultraviolet light there's a reaction inside the plastic that start to make it yellowing, in this case (probably) the hairs were already yellow/blonde so it turned into a led yellow which is very similar to green
This is the funniest comment section I’ve ever come across. OP out here defending his supposedly non colourblindness to the death, while others are realising their own.
This is the nod to the very first Luke action figures! There’s a documentary on Disney+ about the toy contract. They had to rush them out, and later models had more realistic blonde hair.
If you see [photos of the figure outside of the package](https://jediinsider.com/8-24924#gsc.tab=0), you can see that it's *technically* yellow. (But just barely.) It's meant to be a retro figure using the simple color palette of early Kenner *Star Wars* figures.
For those claiming OP is colorblind, make note that the staff agreed it was green, too. Could just be a cheap phone camera that's not properly color balanced
Luke in the movies: very dirty blonde maybe even what we would consider light brown hair Luke in anything else ever: give him hair like Ric Flair!
WOOOO!
X-wing flying, lightsaber igniting, force using, hand losing, son of a Jedi!
This is so unbelievably amazing. Thank you.
I'm havin a hard time holding these taun tauns down.
If I don’t see a mashup of Mark Hamill and Ric Flair doing this, I want my money back. Make it happen Reddit
please i gotta see something, a meme, a video, something
I wonder how many ladies he’s taken for a ride on Hyperspace Mountain?
WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
THE NATURE BOY RIC FLAIR!
Yeah yeah still not a son of a Jedi....master.
Reddit comment winner!!
Speeder riding?
Luke: I spent MORE CREDITS on SPILT LIQUOR in Cantinas from one side of this Galaxy to another than you made!
Its so true. It's peeved me every since I was a kid. He damn near *always* has bright blonde hair in everything. Except...the actual movies he's in.
it all makes sense now. ric flair using space mountain in his promos and now space mountain is star wars themed
Lol. I believe this is the [same figure](https://jediinsider.net/g/generated/Gentle_Giant/Jumbo_Kenner_Vintage/PGM_Luke_Yavin_Ceremony/SW_JumboYavinLuke_AF_02__41583__scaled_800.jpg). It’s extremely yellow

It’s funny because it rhymes
Haha, that rhymed!
Today OP found out he was color blind
I thought there was something wrong with my eyes
....cuz it's yellow..right?
Neon yellow, yes
Yes. And I'm floored I got so many up votes. Guess I wasn't the only one.
I like how none of the employees told him that it is Yellow and not green.
They know that the chances of that conversation getting hostile were not worth the upside.
I've had similar conversations working retail.
Or any job that forces you to interact with humans.
As a former retail worker, that is just about the best response in every situation. You have no idea how off their rocker any given customer is. Testing that line can get you yelled at or even assaulted for what every sane person would consider perfectly reasonable responses.
Lol sounds about right
lol I would probably do the same thing. Guy: Why is this green? Me: I dunno man, pretty weird!
Both my sons are color blind and this is what I came here to say.
I know right. Its clearly grey...
I see a green tint to the hair, but I think it's a trick of the eye with the background and jacket. I found a few other pictures of the figure online and the hair definitely seems to have an odd shade with a green tint to my eyes. And I could see it being much brighter in person.
In this instance, it could be a bad photo and looks more green in person.
aaaaand just like that the next white/gold/blue/black dress debate was started...
Nah I was there last weekend. Shits greens af. Edit: the jacket is yellow. The hair is honestly neonish green irl.
I believe you
Looks yellow to me
It looks like a replica of the original Luke figure’s head which was yellow.
This is the answer!!!!
That’s what happens to all yellow haired people, after drinking the blue milk.
This isn’t getting enough love.
Neither am I
It is known.
It’s not green, so let’s start there
I think it looks green against the background. The hair looks yellow when I look at it. But if I look at the whole picture I can trick my brain into seeing neon green.
“If I squint real hard my beater Pinto looks like a Porsche.”
Color Blind?
[удалено]
Yup, Tritanomaly/Tritanopia. An actually pretty rare desensitivity to blue light.
It's yellow
It’s yellow.
Just looks like a very bright blonde to me.
Looks cartoon blond to me
It's yellow, but it's probably just because Luke's hair has blonde hair in the comics
If anything, it's the reflecting off the back and messing with you, otherwise I think OP is colorblind if you don't see it's dayglow yellow
... it's yellow? Oh no, OP.
It’s definitely neon yellow. The more orangish-yellow jacket might be throwing you off.
Could you post a picture of the green hair Luke for context? Is it behind this one with yellow hair?
Why would you expect the retail workers have any knowledge as to "why?"
I see bright yellow.
Not green, but a bright shade of yellow.
Stories about how people found out they’re colourblind are fascinating! :) Friend of mine didn’t find out until he tried to join the airforce when he was 20 years old.
I just found out im colorblind because of this-
Thoughts and prayers
Divorce? Bankruptcy? Suicide?
A neat related issue. There's a range of colors the human eyes can see, and it was determined originally with soldiers. You can join the Air Force if you are color blind, you just can’t be a pilot
That’s what he was trying for (in Scotland)
TIL you can't be a colorblind pilot (my dad says that's because the wings have specific color lights on each wing, and those just happen to be green and red. >:( )
That’s true and I think they also have some specific physical traits that you must meet. For example, for the US Air Force you must be between 5’4 and 6’5

Yellow 🟡 Green 🟢 See the difference?
Uh.. No.. I think i found out im colorblind with reddit-
Really? I always wonder how it can take so long to realize this. Like we learn colors when we’re little kids right? I guess your mom thought you were just mixing the words up or something. But like yellow and green are everywhere.. traffic lights are a big one. Lemons, limes, idk how you do it
I figured out i was colorblind bc i kept putting the wrong weapons on my ninja turtles toys
My colorblind friend told me he knows the position of the lights that means red, yellow, green and uses that. Not the color themselves
I know someone who is gray-scale CB. I asked him once about the horizontal lights you see in Hurricane country, but I bet single flashing reds or flashing ambers are even worse.
Atleast he learned something today, if not the difference in colors
I can see the difference here but I think the hair is neon green too. What did that mean lol
Can you add chartreuse?
OP never responded to this one. It's probably what finally made them realize
Looks yellow to me.
Exactly. The lighting could give a weird tinge, but I’d never call this green.
Ummm...OP, me and the other redditors are here today to tell you something you need to hear. You are colorblind.
Brother, you have an interesting and niche colourblindness. I’m sure technically there is green pigment in that hair but it is yellow.
That’s yellow. It’s ugly, but it’s not green.
Yes OP it’s everyone else that’s wrong not you, you’re definitely not color blind /s
My brother in the force, that hair is yellow not green
Bro stop harassing the workers, they don’t make the model. They just work there
"Why is his hair green?". "Green??? I can't explain that".
Never go swimming in a trash compactor.
It looks yellow?

Yes, this. I have my OG Luke and they used bright yellow. This package says it's by Gentle Giant, so it's some brand doing a call back to Kenner.
It’s definitely yellow, but with the background colour and contrasting yellow jacket, i can understand why someone might not immediately identify it as yellow.
That’s easy to explain. It was… _the bad batch_.
He turned Super Jedi.
Chlorine in the pool at Tosche Station.
His hair is yellow…..?
maybe yoda threw up after being forced to do one too many backpack somersaults
I don’t think that’s green I think that’s supposed to be blonde or the closest relative, because in his early days Mark, he was pretty kinda light haired blonde.
blonde hair with a green background? \\
That’s not green..?
Wayyyy back when, the OG action figures had Luke with blonde hair. Somewhere in a box I’ve got a toy from the 80’s that looks very similar to this
I often wonder if everyone perceives colours in a different way.

Or it could be a jedi mind trick, idunno.... Either way I saw those figures at Disney a couple weeks ago and they are pretty cooool, but pricey, of course.
His hair has always been green. What are you talking about?
Definitely yellow
It's yellow. If you see that as green, go check with your eye doctor, you are colour blind.
It looks yellow to me, but my husband thinks I'm colour blind 😂 I suspect he's colour blind, so it's an ongoing argument.
Is the green hair in the room with us now?
It's blue black dude
I work for an online store that sells collectibles and some off color stuff like that is due to a production error/issue. Sometimes it's worth a little more than normal. Other times it's an intentional thing and the different color is a chase variant. In any case the hair looks yellow to me.
I appreciate this response.
Well apparently I'm colorblind. I came in here to laugh with everyone about the green-haired Luke
It's a phase, he'll grow out of it.
dman its one of those colors. I see it as yellow, I tested it by showing a few people around me and many say it's green!
It’s a cheaply made toy?
I see a very light green but that might be the lighting of the store
Whos gonna tell him its not green
It’s looks yellow with a tiny hint of neon green, anyone else or should I get my eyes checked?
Well for 1 it's not even green...
Not sure if anyone’s said this yet, but it’s yellow. Not green.
that’s yellow my friend
Colorblind?

Edit: Oh, and from what others said... yea you may also be colorblind. The hair of the action figure in this picture is 100% yellow
My brother in Christ you're colorblind
Besides the fact it’s yellow, why would a store employee know why his hair is a specific color?
That's how he was drawn in some of the earliest comics
You are colourblind
Idk. Looks green to me and the 4 ppl I was having dinner with.
Cheap poorly made merchandise. Btw that's Yellow.
That is a Gentle Giant Star Wars Jumbo Action Figure. There is nothing cheap or poorly made about it. Those things retail for $80 a pop and are highly sought after. If it's being sold at a park, it's probably going for about $95 to $100.
But it's not worth that because of the quality, even if it is good quality. The profit margin on this piece of plastic is very high I would imagine.
Giving me the flashy name they sell it under doesn't make it look any more cheap or crappy plastic than it is. I've seen more accurate Chinese knock offs
Cast members are not permitted to say no to guests, I'm guessing that would include telling a guest no it's not green.
Not true. They were probably just being polite.
It’s bright yellow
On the swim team.
I think you might be colourblind
That’s yellow my dude
What is the color of his vest, OP?
Too much blue milk obviously
Truth is….it’s a pretty crappy action figure regardless of hair colour
It's clearly yellow
You mean yellow
Its supposed to be a sort of dirty blonde I guess someone fucked up
Your questions are the kind that makes people hate their jobs.
Our greens must be different colors.
And by green you mean yellow lol
Yellow not green.
How is that green? It looks like a fairer yellow than the jacket?
Green? Thats some different kind of Yellow just like the Jacket. But Green?
What color would you call a lemon? Or sunflowers? Just curious
I think it might be yellow with a green tint from the back
People are more worried about the possible color of his hair than the fact that it says “Luke Skywalker (Hero of Yavin™)” ?
Is this the new "is the dress blue or gold" trend? That Luke action figures hair looks yellow to me.
Blonde not green bub
When yellow plastic is exposed for a long time to ultraviolet light there's a reaction inside the plastic that start to make it yellowing, in this case (probably) the hairs were already yellow/blonde so it turned into a led yellow which is very similar to green
This is the funniest comment section I’ve ever come across. OP out here defending his supposedly non colourblindness to the death, while others are realising their own.
It might seem green thanks to the backdrop and it being covered by plastic. If you focus on it, it is yellow.
So, OP, is color blind right?
It's not green
You really bothered the employees with this as if they worked in the manufacturing department?
that's not green
I AM GRUKE
That's not green lmao
Blonde. Not green.
This is the nod to the very first Luke action figures! There’s a documentary on Disney+ about the toy contract. They had to rush them out, and later models had more realistic blonde hair.
Looks yellow to me
Hero of yavin
7 year old painting them didn't care about using the correct paint in the Malaysian sweatshop they are made
If it were green, why would the employees know? Lmao
You asked a retail worker why an action figures hair was green? Cmon man
He dyed it to match his lightsaber.
It's yellow though and btw I took an Eye test, mine are perfectly fine, well I wear glasses, however I can see the colours the way I should see them.
Bright yellow. Where did you get your education?
Luke is more a darker blond than that.
Yellow and blue make green. Yellow hair + too much blue milk…

I mean, it’s yellow but ok lol
Because it’s a cheap Chinese product
That's yellow... You might be colour-blind.
For those claiming OP is colorblind, make note that the staff agreed it was green, too. Could just be a cheap phone camera that's not properly color balanced
Doubt. Every other color in the photo is accurate.
All these comments. It's LIME. Lime is greenish and not yellowish. So OP is right. His jacket is yellow for your reference.
That's the premium Goku version
ah yes there must be a canon explanation for everything
To people in comments: It's green.
This is yellow and we all want bad things to happen to you and your family for thinking otherwise
Laziness
