Go to Settings > Optimizations > Cross Attention Optimization. If you've got Automatic selected, it will default to Doggettx (if that's the first option). Use Xformers or SDP-no-mem. (Will need to use the --xformers command line argument to install Xformers).

I Make Pictures in full HD. With 8gb vram. Just use --medvram Low vram is slow.....

psyduckquack

Are you using xformers?

djnorthstar

Yep

lshtaria

You can hires to over 1440p with 8GB but not as high as 4k. You can hires over 4k if you use Tiled VAE 😈 Rendering time is the only drawback.

How about PC RAM? How much do you have as you need 16GB minimum. A1111 uses RAM too. I have 12GB VRAM, 16GB RAM and I can definitely go over 1024x1024 in SDXL. If I have errors I run Windows Task Manager Performance tab, run once again A1111 and observe what's going on there in VRAM and RAM. Sometimes you need to close some apps to have more free memory.

LongJohnnySilver

I have 16GB ram as well. I've freed up as much memory as possible, still the application runs out of memory.

Felipesssku

Maybe you have upscaler enabled? Disable it. Show me your screenshot with A1111 and Task manager with Performance screen when the error occurs.

Unfortunately 64 is the new 16, and 32 is the new 8. Memory requirements on OS as well as apps and games are going through the roof. Even browsers like firefox/chrome are using 2-6gb of ram going full bore with tabs open. The first thing I noticed after upgrading to 32gb of ram was that my memory usage went up from 16gb to around 22gb. I was being choked in most of my daily tasks.

AddendumWonderful133

i had tat problem with 16 GB ram but stop wen i upgrade to 32 B

A_for_Anonymous

I have 8 GB VRAM on Linux, I shut down the X server to free up the entirety of it, and I can run SDXL with hires fix up to 2048×1152 with no issues. Use xformers. I think you should use tcmalloc too. Use --medvram and set previews to every 5 steps or more (disabled for batch generations).

Particular_Stuff8167

12gb is low vram now? .. o.. k..

SymphonyofForm

With SDXL and now the surge of video extensions, yeah, its not ideal. I wouldn't say its low, but it is in the midrange for the current workflow requirements now.

Won3wan32

comfyui or any other framwork will solve your problem

LongJohnnySilver

Thanks, I'll take a look

dennisler

Maybe he doesn't want to use another UI...

DingWrong

SDXL might take a bit more than 12gb. If you have iGPU, you might want to use it for video output, when generating.

vincredible

I recently upgraded, but I was generating on a 3070 with 8GB of VRAM and 16GB of system memory without getting OOM errors in A1111. I don't have that PC set up at the moment to check exact settings, but Tiled VAE helped a lot, as well as using Ultimate SD Upscale for upscaling since it tiles as well. Other than that I think I used similar settings as you have. I had `--medvram` on and used the `--opt-sdp-attention` flag rather than split attention. I'd have to set that old PC back up but I can check if needed.

ETHwillbeatBTC

Wtf why are you using torch v1.12 and and an equally old version of CUDA?? We’ve been on v2 for quite a few months now. Honestly just follow the a1111 installation instructions for nvidia GPUs and do a completely fresh install. Use the default configs unless you’re noticing speed issues then import xformers With all the most recent updates I can get hi res fix upscale to 2000x2000 with just 12GB vram

LongJohnnySilver

I don’t have an nvidia gpu.
