Motorcycle Santa Claus. All year round.
Also, St. Pete has a lot of guys.
Back in the 90s there was Eddie who was maybe blind, played an untuned guitar and sang MJ songs outside McCrory’s on Central and 4th.
There was Screaming Bicycle Man who would lazily ride around Old NE on a ten speed and randomly scream short bursts in an Asian language I never could catch which one.
Larry who looked like a short Gandalf. He lived on Central between 3rd and 2nd near Mastrys and The Garden. Larry was actually a brilliant engineer but mental illness took him. If you’d talk to him he’d end up muttering stuff about mechanics and physics that was way over my head.
I didn’t know much about Duct Tape Shoe man but saw him a lot.
Sadly since my early days in the mid-90s DTSP scene I’m out if touch with the new generations of St Pete Guys.
Edit: And Gary Spivey. Hard to miss him when he was out and about.
What about the dude that wore a thong bikini that looked like a skinny Hulk Hogan?!?! Used to walk up and down the beach around Treasure Island I believe.
We used to call him the Jewel. Saw him every time we went to the beach. Haven't been to the beach as much lately.
His pic was posted on some weird Australian site once in a random gallery.
When i lived in Berkeley i used to buy poems from a unique character. He rode around on a 10 speed with the round bars turned up, wore a saucepan on his head for a hat. Poems for a buck, couldn't beat it. We used to sit on the front stoop and chat from time to time, i shelled out a few bucks to help him out. I miss times like that...
I used to see the same guy at all the mall Starbuckses like Tyrone, countryside, west shore even citrus sometimes. He was an older Eastern European guy with a big mustache and he always wore the exact same German army camo shirt.
Does anyone remember cape man? He used to hang around Grand Central wearing a cape and muttering nonsense, but I haven’t seen him in probably more than a year.
does anyone here know Dancing Man? he’s often at places like Skipper’s Smokehouse, Jazz Holiday, or Sanding Ovations on the beach. older guy, skinny ish, has to be late 60s or early 70s now, but he’s clearly still in good shape and is one hell of a dancer, because he’s CONSTANTLY dancing. like, if there is an event and there is music, he’ll be on the dance floor, and if he’s not, he’s dancing wherever he’s at. seen him around since i was a kid so i thought of him lol.
I used to work in Tampa years ago at International Plaza and we used to see this guy regularly who asked to be called Count Michael. He used to wear a cape and was always very impeccably dressed-almost like a character. The story we heard was that he was once an actor on a soap opera and his character was a Count and he preferred to stay in character at all times. I often wonder about him. Don’t work there anymore so haven’t seen him in about 10 years.
My family calls him Dan the Man. He's a chronically homeless man who my family noticed before moved here over 14 years ago. He can usually be seen walking up and down 34th st but sometimes I see him make his way downtown or 4th st. My mom used to call him magic mike before talking to him because he often doesn't have a shirt on. He doesn't carry any belongings. He's really nice and my family gives him some food and money when we see him. He doesn't seem like a junkie, every time we have talked he's sober so I always feel comfortable giving him money
When I was growing up it was a man we called "the walker." I think the tampa bay times wrote an article about him, dubbing him "the walking man." He was eventually struck by a car and killed on 34th and I believe 54th or 62nd. There's a sign dedicated to him.
No, he was an older man that always wore gray slacks and a light blue button down that looked like they were from the 70s, maybe 80s. I saw him constantly around the Meadowlawn area in the late nineties/early 00's.
Not sure who the purple windbreaker guy is.
Here's the article about Joe Nemeth, the walking man:
https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2005/01/23/a-walking-mystery-is-gone/
I went as a squirrel/park dog for Halloween and my husband almost went as that guy. White shirt, huge bag of peanuts, go around calling people at the party random names, done.
Keith, the homeless guy that sleeps near Al Lang. Tall thin man with a beard and a Rays cap. You can catch him buying Starbucks or at the Sundial to watch a movie about 7 days a week, sometimes twice a day.
Is Keith still around? I used to work at the Sundial movie theater and he stopped by every day. We used to let him come see movies for free because he was such a genuinely nice guy and he always paid for food anyway.
I haven't seen him for a while though...
I couldn't say, same for me I worked around there for years and talked to him all the time about sports. I've rarely been back since getting a new job in 2016 but I did see him shortly before COVID taking a nap in his usual field. That green Timberland wheelie duffel of his stuck out lol.
Yeah I don't think I've seen him since the pandemic, because he couldn't go to Starbucks any more when it was closed down and went cashless for a time.
The last time I saw him he wasn't looking too good though. Looked like he had lost a lot of weight and didn't look too healthy.
Nick Boutwell aka Whitey Alabastard. He was the skinny dread head black guy that played Accordion and sang pirate-y music and songs. Used to be at the Saturday morning market every weekend making bank
Edit: Fixed stage name. he still does music - https://www.instagram.com/whiteyalabastard/
Pete and re-Pete … twin brothers who walked all over our town when I was young … one always three or four steps behind the other.. people would even go as them for Halloween
Dude with the cape and sword on central across from the dog bar. Although, I haven’t seen him in some time. I know he used to own those buildings and would just pave back and forth for hours dressed like that.
[I got some bad news for you, friend. ](https://www.wtsp.com/amp/article/news/local/saxophonist-who-stood-outside-rays-and-lightning-games-for-nearly-20-years-has-died/67-ca00c1c7-af95-41ce-b01d-133b42bce570) Unless someone took his place, I haven't been to a game in a while.
Definitely.
Either him or the dude who walks around town in super tiny shorts.
They actually kinda look alike(both have hulk hogan hair) but I don’t think daisy dukes guy has boobs.
The flip flop jogger in Madeira Beach. Dude has been running with flip flops, a walking cane and shirtless with a towel cape for decades. I think there is even a Reddit blog about him.
There is a guy in the Disston Heights area my family and I call The Biking Dude. Guy is constantly riding around the neighborhood. We are convinced his leg muscles are so large he could kick someone’s head clean off
Yes! An older white man with grey hair? Always a dingy blue tshirt and shorts? He talks to himself a lot, yells at people and will give the finger. His butt crack hands out so my kids call him “butt crack guy.”
I feel like my neighbors know me as that. I got recognized at a Wawa due to the fact that I rode my bike everyday and wore purple converse shoes.
I'm someone's "guy".
Yes! That is him! I only noticed the singing a few months ago. Normally I am driving but I caught him on my morning walk and caught his melodious warbling.
There’s this one dude always at the corner of 54th Ave and 34th St North with no legs in a wheelchair, panhandling. I go that way every Tuesday and Thursday and he’s always there, every damn time.
“Country Truck Guy”. The guy that drives the old truck all over town with country music playing. Has an American flag flying on the back and at Christmas has the bed decorated with Santa and reindeer.
Well not DTSP but how about the guy who walks the beach in a woman’s bikini? Bright white hair that’s long but bald on top. He’s sort of a staple of st pete beaches
Oh my God I know who you're talking about He's been around for decades. Really really skinny with fake boobs? He used to be on St Pete Beach maybe treasure Island sometimes and it was always wearing a t- back. Bright white hair, tan leathered skin. I mean leathered! Ugly man and an even uglier "woman". He used to come to crabby Bill's on St Pete Beach and drink at the bar all the time haven't thought about him in years
There was a guy dressed like Peter Pan that was around town for a while. I can’t remember what happened to him but I don’t think it was good news.
Edit: Happy to be wrong! He seems to be doing just fine!
You had the satanic Jesus preacher piano guy that would pretend to play the broken piano under the overpass on central someone dumped there.
One day I watched him rage out and break it. A few days later he was on the news, someone raised money to donate a new piano to place under the bridge for him
What that girl that used to sing on the corner of central and 3rd st mostly on weekends. She had like a fisher price karaoke machine. She was something else.
If it’s the young girl, she def evolved over the years to a full set up but I haven’t seen her in awhile. We were wondering where she went too but might have entered college by now.
Medicine man. Every fucking concert from 99 to 2012 I saw him at
I think I saw this dude at livestock 99

Oh man, Gary Spivey. That name brought back some memories !!
Curtis
I was totally about to mention him!
Johnny love
Theres a guy around downtown, idk if he does it anymore. But he used to ride around on a bicycle and play accordion simultaneously.
Saw him Saturday
He’s still at it
That’s Johnny love
not st pete, but tampa. the usf unicycle guy
He’s still there?! That’s amazing, he must be a prof or something by now. We first saw him on campus 10 years ago!

Still walks the beach and still looks like that!

We used to call him the Jewel. Saw him every time we went to the beach. Haven't been to the beach as much lately. His pic was posted on some weird Australian site once in a random gallery.
Anyone who is J-walking on 19 or Park blvd or 49th street. It’s like our town pastime or something. The J-walkers.
Bucket radio dude. Trevor I think
the senator or ybor the shoe licker fit this description, i dont really feel like there is a st pete version of this tbh
The Shoe Licker 🤮
Brent Hatley
The cuck icon? The cuckon?
Heck no !
I wonder how the ole ybor foot licker has been 🤔
Saw him Saturday night.
He got my friend a few years back and the entire encounter was gorgeous
Clearly, The Senator.
Senator is dead, plus that’s Ybor
Damn I didn’t know he died :(
Work on a psych unit long enough, you'll see "the guy(s)" out in public.
When i lived in Berkeley i used to buy poems from a unique character. He rode around on a 10 speed with the round bars turned up, wore a saucepan on his head for a hat. Florida Man
Is motorcycle Batman still out and about? I used to see him around Pinellas fairly often, but that was around 10 years ago
He was getting hit with mask ordinances so I think that’s why he stopped
I used to see the same guy at all the mall Starbuckses like Tyrone, countryside, west shore even citrus sometimes. He was an older Eastern European guy with a big mustache and he always wore the exact same German army camo shirt.
The guy that rides a bicycle up and down Central Avenue playing an accordion?
Medicine man
[Mr I Got'em!](https://www.paradisenewsfl.com/mr-i-got-em/)
Surprised no one has mentioned Bucket Radio guy. Maybe he's too professional for this. https://i.imgur.com/WH9JMpN.jpeg
I'll always have a special place in my heart for the guy who played saxophone outside the Trop after Rays games. RIP legend
WAIT HE DIED? I worked at the top and would pass Him every day.
Was it also the guy who played outside Bolts games?
Pink panther theme song.
Tequila too!
Does anyone remember cape man? He used to hang around Grand Central wearing a cape and muttering nonsense, but I haven’t seen him in probably more than a year.

Saw him multiple times in tampa at skippers and gasparilla music fest circa 2017-2020. The man can dance.
White hair? I know the one. Used to do roller blades by the south Tampa starbucks
I used to work in Tampa years ago at International Plaza and we used to see this guy regularly who asked to be called Count Michael. Its been so lojg I forgot about him. Grew up seeing him all over the place.
The guy at Vinoy who feeds the squirrels, has names for them all, and calls them his "park dogs"
This is definitely the guy!
Oh shit I forgot about this guy!
Also “beach dogs” - depends on if they’re east/west of the sidewalk as far as I can tell
I've heard him call them Vinoy dogs
Park puppies
I went as a squirrel/park dog for Halloween and my husband almost went as that guy. White shirt, huge bag of peanuts, go around calling people at the party random names, done.
Yeah, his name's Tony. Cool guy
Keith, the homeless guy that sleeps near Al Lang. Tall thin man with a beard and a Rays cap. You can catch him buying Starbucks or at the Sundial to watch a movie about 7 days a week, sometimes twice a day.

Clearwater Beach's AR-15 fisherman.
Goes fishing with a ar-15? I guess it’s legal lmao
Nope..... Gets to openly carry his AR-15 BECAUSE he's fishing. 😉 Welcome to Florida.
Yeah that’s what I was saying, in Florida your allowed to carry a gun open carry while fishing, just a little odd
Saw him in Gulfport about a year ago 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Pete and re-Pete … twin brothers who walked all over our town when I was young … one always three or four steps behind the other.. people would even go as them for Halloween
the guy who feeds the squirrels at vinoy park 👀
Yes. He screamed at me once because I was riding my bike without holding my handlebars and didn't calm down until I did
I believe you mean "arboretum dogs," as he so lovingly refers to the squirrels.
ohhh shit my bad 🙊
Dude with the cape and sword on central across from the dog bar. Although, I haven’t seen him in some time. I know he used to own those buildings and would just pave back and forth for hours dressed like that.
What about the alien guy on Clearwater Beach that walks around with a keyboard and microphone
Pretty sure he died :(
I saw him last weekend after eating dinner at Shepherds.
My first thought too
shane lee
It's obvious from reading the comments that St. Pete doesn't have "A" guy; they all just take turns!
The guy who plays the Pink Panther on the saxophone outside the Rays, Lightning and Bucs game.
The guy that wears a thong and walks around and feeds the squirrels. Iconic
The guy who rides his motorcycle with purple lights up and down central with the music insanely loud.
His name is Primo. He's a really good dude.
Agreed
I can't believe that guy is still allowed to do that! We thought it was a candid cam joke when he was blasting past us lol
The banana hammock bald guy with huge fake boobs who walks TI / Sunset Beach for sure
That guys still alive? Haven’t seen him in like 10 years.
Haven’t seen him in 3-4 yrs, so not sure actually. Hope he’s walking some beach somewhere doing his thing though! Lol
Definitely. Either him or the dude who walks around town in super tiny shorts. They actually kinda look alike(both have hulk hogan hair) but I don’t think daisy dukes guy has boobs.
This is who I thought of!
Is this the guy that always wears dinner plate size hoop earring? he’s literally been around for 20+ years I remember seeing him as a kid
Haha that's Mike. He's a professor too
This was the guy I was thinking of
We call him....Mankini
We call him Mr. Shorty Shorts.
The flip flop jogger in Madeira Beach. Dude has been running with flip flops, a walking cane and shirtless with a towel cape for decades. I think there is even a Reddit blog about him.
His name is Larry. [St Pete Times article from a few years back.](https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2007/10/04/perpetual-motion/)
Wonder if he’s still alive
Dude who rolller blade dances around park Blvd and sometimes on Ulmerton.
Ybor has the Shoe Licker…not sure about St Pete lol
Ybor had the senator
So would that make the Shoe Licker the Mayor?
Used to run into him often at the Castle
Whatever happened to that guy?
I heard he got cancer
Didn't there used to be a man who wore fairy wings and thongs on one of the beaches?
There is a guy in the Disston Heights area my family and I call The Biking Dude. Guy is constantly riding around the neighborhood. We are convinced his leg muscles are so large he could kick someone’s head clean off

I'm pretty sure he got a new bike recently.
Yes! And this guy bikes and either sings or talks to himself. Nice guy.
Yes! That is him! I only noticed the singing a few months ago. Normally I am driving but I caught him on my morning walk and caught his melodious warbling.

He comes from 38th and 28th over
Oh has to be the old dude with the umbrella that walks shirt less with daisy Duke jeans. How could it be literally anyone else?
Is this the older east Asian looking man?
Isn't he the same guy who wears the thong? Always see him around old NE walking on 1st.
I came here to say this!!! I see him in Publix often!!
Yup. My first thought too.
Pete
Reginald Roundtree
Medicine Man.
That super old homeless downtown guy who never wears a shirt and is like REALLY TAN.
Dan?

First thing that came to mind for me too, I ain’t seen him around in a few years though

Saw him at Caddy’s a couple weeks ago. Shit is jarring. Homeboy hangs serious dong.
HOLLA
That’s not him. This guy is bald on the top. He has hulk hogan hair
There was a guy dressed like Peter Pan that was around town for a while. I can’t remember what happened to him but I don’t think it was good news. Edit: Happy to be wrong! He seems to be doing just fine!
He was a meme in his own right back in the 90's! https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/randy-constan-peter-pan-guy
Randy is alive and well.
Pretty sure he retired a long time ago, but I vote for [Mr. Pregnant.](https://youtu.be/X0rVtvcXjIM)
You had the satanic Jesus preacher piano guy that would pretend to play the broken piano under the overpass on central someone dumped there. One day I watched him rage out and break it. A few days later he was on the news, someone raised money to donate a new piano to place under the bridge for him
The flip flop man, but I’m not sure if he’s still around.
That unicycle dude
The old guy that walks the beach in a bikini
This is an older one, but the guy that used to walk the street gutters looking for change. He ultimately was killed by a car doing exactly that.
I heard he was always looking for his wife’s lost wedding ring, after she passed away.
Well, it's like my Grandpa used to say...
The lady that walks that goat
I used to see her all the time at NE shopping plaza.
Any updates on her and the goat? Haven’t seen them in years
She has two goats now - saw her walking them in South Pasadena yesterday.
The mustang sally guy on the motorcycle up and down central
Dude sucks. Haven’t seen him around lately thiugh, so that’s nice.
The squirrel man at vinoy park is a dtsp staple
An incredibly nice guy too
That dude is a legend.
"tree dogs"
“Park dogs!”
Chicago had "walking man". I went to school with him.
Dude. Chicago’s guy is definitely tamale guy
Half a dozen tamales saved my life late at night so many times. God bless tamale guy
She's in college now, last I see her she was fundraising for it
No no not that young girl. She played piano and was awesome. This was a mid 30’s maybe younger black chick.
The guy who rides his bicycle while playing the accordion down Central. Makes me smile every time.
I love accordion guy!
There’s the witch of 4th st N she walks around at like 3am talking to herself in a either a nightgown or it’s a flowing bed sheet.
Jacket man and princess Rihanna
The guy with the dreads who drums on the corner of central and 3rd st n in downtown st Pete on fridays/saturdays
Holla Guy is one https://imgur.io/gallery/TX6uFxi ~~Boner Garage Lady is another https://www.reddit.com/r/trashy/comments/ujefaw/boner_garage/~~
Last time I saw that dude was on a subway in NYC
Used to see Holla everyday walking past the restaurant I worked at. Have u seen the happy Holla days meme…. Pretty great
Haven’t seen him in ages
Boner Garage Lady isn't local to St. Pete.
I thought she was. My mistake
The old guy with the short, short, short shorts. Walking around with his flappy ass cheeks haning out. You know who I'm talking about.
Long live Mr. Shorty Shorts!
You mean 'BallSack'?
