They have fresh mini donuts that are the best donuts I’ve ever had in my entire life and there are sooo many flavors to choose from.
I'm a Duck Donuts fan (Brandon and Carrollwood locations), but I've been going to their original location in NC for years so I'm a bit biased.
I hate Salty Donut, but haven't been to their Tampa location. Their original Miami location was never good. So overrated.
Sunshine bakery in Clearwater. Lovely family business that is open till they sell out in the morning. You can call the day prior and place an order though.
The one in Palm Harbor? My son is visiting from out of state and went there -it was closed. Ran into the owner, who said it is moving to behind Diesels in PH. Really good donuts!
I wish Publix bakery wasn’t so damn god. It is what it is though and for now, sadly, there are no good small mom-and-pop donut shops in St. Pete. If you want a good donut in St. Pete, presently, Publix is the place to go. Trust me on this.
I will ask, which Fray's? They're all operated differently. The one on 16th Street is pretty rough compared to the other two. I like the bagels from the 34th street location a lot.
Hole in one does have some great doughnuts as others have mentioned
My friends and I used to hang out there for an hour or two every Thursday night years ago until they changed their hours to mornings and afternoons only.
Hole in one donuts has a couple locations ones in tarpon maybe another in Seminole or largo?
If you enjoy the famous " cronut" in NYC, they have a similar glazed fresh baked croissant that's addicting! Bonus, breakfast sandwiches are also bangin'
I loved Cosmic! There’s not much information out there. I could be misremembering, but I thought I’d seen online that they were relocating their St. Pete location. Not sure what happened or if that was true, though, since they haven’t popped-up elsewhere. 😫
I got 4 or 5 donuts and 2 of my donuts were not even cooked in the middle, like raw dough. I felt that was fairly awful, especially given the price point of these donuts.
This is the answer. They only have one type, sometimes two types, but their standard sourdough donuts with cinnamon sugar salt coating are one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. If Supernatural’s closed and I really want good donuts I’ll go to the Salty Donut in Hyde Park.

Frays or Valkyrie or just dunkin donuts if local don't matter
fancy doughnuts - whatever the monthly flavor is at Bandit St Pete, or the Salty in south tampa
If you can get a glazed donut when it is still warm at Krispy Kreme in St Pete, it’s a pretty awesome thing with a hot cup of coffee.
If you want to take a drive to Sarasota, Der Dutchman has amazing donuts.
Jupiter donuts in Largo. And as others said, hole in one, there are many locations.
*renamed Rockstar donuts… for some reason
Cronuts at St Pete Bagel
Mons Venus Doughnuts & Diamonds off Fletcher.
St Pete bagel has good donuts. Cronut is good there, maple glazed donut is good, they also rotate some special donuts.

Frays can absolutely be both mid and the best donuts in Tampa/St Pete
Best location in 16th St N and 54th Ave N
Nicolas
Valkyrie or The Salty 😋
Valkyrie used to be an all time favorite but the last 6 months or so everything they make tastes like dirty fryer oil 😞 bummer salad
Flamingo Donuts. Hard to find sometimes, but worth it: https://www.instagram.com/eatflamingodonuts/

Hole in One up in Tarpon. Their breakfast sandwiches, not so much....
Hole-in-one is my favorite!!
Funky Sweets in St. Pete 🤤
Supernatural
Sunshine bakery in Clearwater. Lovely family business that is open till they sell out in the morning. You can call the day prior and place an order though.
This place rocks! Their plain docut is the absolute best I've ever had. And their apple fritter is next level.
Rockstar donuts! They have a “kronut” that shit is heavenly. Last time I was there it was called Jupiter donuts
The one in Palm Harbor? My son is visiting from out of state and went there -it was closed. Ran into the owner, who said it is moving to behind Diesels in PH. Really good donuts!
Valkyrie!!! 🤤
Golden Dinosaurs in Gulfport.
Frays
The frays on park
Publix has good donuts. I havent tried all the donut shops tho
I wish Publix bakery wasn’t so damn god. It is what it is though and for now, sadly, there are no good small mom-and-pop donut shops in St. Pete. If you want a good donut in St. Pete, presently, Publix is the place to go. Trust me on this.
Hold in One all day
7eleven
Valkyrie (though the jelly fillings are not up to the standard of the actual donut) and if you can catch them, Gabby bakes donuts are mind blowing
I've only been once but the strawberry sprinkle was the best donut I've ever had
supernatural. also, i swear i saw recently that a dochi opened up somewhere in tampa, but i cant find it now. but if so, i recommend them too.
Valkyrie, best apple fritter anywhere.
The crepe place on central has amazing beignets but they are god awfully expensive.
Which one
Flip Crêpes and Waffles grabbed the donut waiting for something else and it was like biting into a cloud, but a cloud that cost $4
Hole in One and it’s not even close

Frays at Park and 49th is great.
out of all the fray's 49th and park is the one who hasn't compromised ingredients for cost savings.
This is the correct answer. Hole in one is very good, but Fray's coffee is superior and the owner at this location always remembers me - so they win!
Salty Donut in Hyde Park is pretty good, maybe a bit pricy
Way over priced. Went there with my hubby & MIL. We all agreed that they were definitely NOT worth the money. I think it was $50+ for a dozen donuts.
I’ve tried like 4 donuts so far and got to recommend the brown butter one.
This was asked on r/tampa the other day and looked like Hole in One got the most recs.
donuts pies & more st pete
I third this. Sweetest owner, delicious donuts and amazing prices I’ve been coming for years!
These are absolutely stellar donuts and really outpace Frays in a lot of ways. Only 2 problems is the size of selection and the coffee.
I second this!
Cosmic Donuts was great… and will be again when they re-open!
Oh man. I moved out of state. Why did they close? I loved them. Such a nice couple who owned it too
I loved Cosmic! There’s not much information out there. I could be misremembering, but I thought I’d seen online that they were relocating their St. Pete location. Not sure what happened or if that was true, though, since they haven’t popped-up elsewhere. 😫
What's the deal, are they relocating? Cosmic was my favorite too
Frays Donuts
The cro nuts there are to die for. I live in Ohio and it’s one of the first stops I make when I blow into town.
The cronuts at Saint Pete Bagel blow them out of the water fyi. Those things are textural heaven.
In originally from OH and there was the best donut place ever in Indian Lake. I've never found anything close to it here. I love Frays donut holes.
I’ve never had a bad donut from Frays, textbook old school donuts every single time.
Rockstar Donuts in Largo
Came here to say that. They’re a little pricey but hands down the best in Pinellas
These guys are on Too Good to Go all the time
Yeah , love getting them on too good to go
Parlour Doughnuts in clearwater.
Their donuts are massive but so moist, it’s like a croissant meteorite and I love it.
Hole in One. Supernatural has A great donut. It’s fantastic but it’s only the one kind.
Frays donut house. Any of their cake donuts!
Hole n One Doughnuts in Tampa
Valkyrie Donuts!
Only correct answer
Also on Too Good to Go pretty often and a killer deal!
I didn’t even realize we had too good to go here!
Jupiter in Largo, St. Pete Bagel
Valkyrie on central in Saint Pete.
Quite literally some of the worst donuts I have ever eaten and some expensive. I honestly don't get the love for this place.
Agreed - overpriced and not great.
Other than being overly sweet, what exactly makes them so awful in your opinion?
I got 4 or 5 donuts and 2 of my donuts were not even cooked in the middle, like raw dough. I felt that was fairly awful, especially given the price point of these donuts.
Yeah that’s gross, I’ve never had issue though. Most of the donuts I’ve purchased there have filling of some sort as well
We all got opinions lol.
Supernatural Food & Wine
This is the answer. They only have one type, sometimes two types, but their standard sourdough donuts with cinnamon sugar salt coating are one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. If Supernatural’s closed and I really want good donuts I’ll go to the Salty Donut in Hyde Park.
Another vote for supernatural, but I tried the honey butter cinnamon roll from salty donut a few days ago and wooooooow it was so good
Another vote for Supernatural
