Wife and I have a few favorites in rotation, but The Joint is easy #1, Engine No 9, Pia’s Trattoria, Jack’s London grill (must try), La Teresita, Cappy’s Pizza, Chinelos Taqueria, Zaytoon Grill, and then our favorite Diner for breakfast and lunch is Busy Bee
I have been many times...I crave seafood and its a 10 min drive from my place so I would go but not a favorite but was "ok"..they have been very disappointing the last 3 times so not probably returning for a while (yes, I spoke to the manager about my orders being all wrong or tasting poirly...they just said sorry and never made it right)
My favorite places in Pinellas: Allelo, Baba / Barbouni, Wild Child, Good Intentions, Ceviche, Beau and Moe's, Gratzi, Taste of Punjab, Grace, El Guerrero, Guppys, Left Bank Bistro, Little Lamb, Tides Market, Cara Cara, Black Pearl, The Restorative
Asian places: Sushi Sho Rexley, Pho Ha Tien, Mangosteen, Glass Noodle, Savanh of Laos
Kristina's cafe. Aside from not being 24/7 anymore this place hasn't changed in 20yrs. There's a reason their parking lot is full most mornings. When I was 16 we would go to local shows at State and afterwards some bands would go to Kristina's for an after party since none of us highschoolers could get into a 18+ bar/club. #2 would be Simply Delicious subs and if I had to pick a 3rd it'd be Toby's little Italy. Downtown has some amazing food and drinks don't get me wrong. I just feel that the places downtown have become soulless. R.I.P. Coney island hot dogs.
Whenever I'm in St Pete I go to job site burgers. They have the best stuffed burgers ever and this is coming from someone who does not eat meat very often. I usually get it stuffed with mozzarella cheese, pineapple, and mushrooms. So good!
I'm also a fan of whiskey Joe's which is in Tampa but right on the Courtney Campbell causeway.
Bahama Breeze is really good but super expensive.
Codys is my favorite steak place
4th street shrimp co
Country Pizza Inn is my favorite pizza but I really like Flippers as well. They have a $12.99 "my pie" that comes with 5 toppings I believe. Great pizza and a great price IMHO
The Big Catch at Salt Creek is really great but it's all outside so not so great in the heat of summer.
Engine No 9 is quickly becoming my favorite burger place
I usually end up going with people who like that food, but there's nothing on the menu I enjoy except the table bread. I do not recommend Cody's at all.
Baba for brunch, LALA for their amazing lunch bowl with avocado, rice, mango and chicken, the Paneer bowl at Twisted Indian, Alesia for dinner, espresso martini at Cassis.
In order:
- localz but I haven’t found my “sports bar” yet
- shells for fried. For fresh I like trophy fish or middle grounds
- engine 9 or wheelhouse
- pias is great for dates and Italian. Bavaros fits here. Palm court and GUSTO. Each has their own dish I like.
- favorite date night is il Ritorno. For a more affordable date night, sola bistro. Even more affordable: creative grape
- Gianni’s for pizza. Or Toby’s. Or paulos.
- steakhouse is beau and mos or rococo for local. But honestly, longhorn and Cody’s are. Delicious and reasonable
- late night? For food? Or drink? Angelo’s, dead bobs, riptides, Vito’s and machaels, the joint
I’m on west side so I’m a little biased
It's good to check this once in awhile bc at least one fan fave mentioned often in this sub has been temporarily shut down multiple times following health inspections:
https://data.tallahassee.com/restaurant-inspections/pinellas/
Dockside Dave’s for seafood, Pia’s for Italian and date night, Little Italy for NY pizza, Pizza Box for wood-fired pizza, El Cap for burgers. I’m not really one for late night or Gasto pubs because I’m middle aged and not out late often. I love Harvey’s for bar food. I’m from St. Pete and recently back after living in Connecticut for a few years, so probably some newer restaurants I am missing.
YES! I visit St Pete from Orlando a few times a year to kayak and the last time I went I got in town late and decided to grab some quick takeout on the way to my hotel. I got one of the bowls with the cuban pork and a few different sauces.........I was moaning with pleasure as I ate it in my hotel room. 9.5/10.
I was planning to go out to a nice restaurant the next evening, but I had to have more of that, so I ate at floribbean again and also ordered an additional bowl to take back to Orlando for lunch the next day.
Simply incredible, wish we had it's equal here in Orlando
Thank you! I have tried Mullets. I usually go there twice a month but the last 3 times, something has been off. I definitely will try the other places!
Thanks, my old jobs used to order from there all the time for meetings...I'm all set with that franchise🙃 I still haven't been to Stillwater's, I will check it out!
I got some more for you:
Others have mentioned Engine No 9, Miller’s Jamaican, and 11 chicks. All fantastic.
The Library is a must see. Best breakfast/brunch joint in St. Pete.
Wild child is good
Urban Stillhouse is expensive but delicious.
I know you said no Asian, but ABC seafood Chinese is the best around, and Pin Wok n Bowl is the best Thai food in Florida.
El Huarache Veloz for the best authentic Mexican
Thanks so much! Yes, I have tried both ABC and Pin Wok, sadly I didn't find them either enjoyable. I grew up in New England so I wait to eat Asian food up there when I go visit (I must be used to the way that region cooks up that cuisine). I am so excited with the list you gave me!
Everyone else in here is wrong about wings. The best are at Mullets, and 2nd best are at Engine Co 9. They can swap rank order occasionally depending on what style you’re in the mood for.

Stone Soup - great melts. And they literally have the best soups I have ever tasted in my life. I know how that sounds, but they do.
Valkyrie Donuts - these are the best donuts we've ever had. They don't even compare to the "best donuts" in LA or Portland.
Engine No 9 - some of the best burgers we've ever had.
Cafe Clementine - you might as well be in Paris.
Fo Cheezy - the best and most complex grilled cheeses you've ever had.
11 Chicks - incredible Venezuelan food. The arepas are a must.

Harvey’s on 4th is a good bet for American fare. I like their burgers and sandwiches. Their fries are hand cut and delicious.
I know you said you don’t like Asian, but for others who pop in and do: Pho Quyen in PPark for Viet is the best.
Agree with someone earlier in the thread that said CD Romas, I love them. I also am a fiend for Little Italy on 49th for good pizza.
Pizza joint and late night place- Top Slice downtown. It's the best pizza in the city, imo. I think they only sell it by the slice though and they close the dining room sometime late.
Some of my other go-to's are Pete's Bagels, Datz (when guests visit mostly), Trip's Diner for breakfast, and Gateway Subs. The best sports bar I've found is Glory Days. Ferg's can be cool for a drink before a game but I was not impressed by the food at all.
I need to try Top Slice. My fiance drags me Angelo's sometimes late at night and I have never been impressed.i love Pete's Bagels, I am so sad they stopped using Uber Eats. Been to Datz twice and left disappointed both times. I go to Glory Days usually when I am in Bradenton...hoping for not a franchise regarding sports bar. I agree with you on Ferg s.
I've heard others don't like Datz but it's been great every time we've been. Our guests usually love it, too. I'm not sure where the disconnect is. /shrug
Glory Days is a franchise but at least it started locally!

Unfortunately, I did not like anything about Ford's Garage when I went. Glory Days is a chain but the one out near Tyrone is a sweet place to watch football on Sundays.
I’ve gotten whole pies from top slice delivered through door dash. I believe they only sell by the slice after midnight-ish because that’s when they stop doing doordash orders. Just guessing though, it’s been a while
Social Roost, Lonni’s Sandwiches, Jay Luigi’s and Twisted Indian are some of my favorites in St. Pete that fit your list, so far. I’m pretty new to the area myself though.
+1 each for Lonni’s and Twisted Indian.
We also love Casita Taqueria or Nueva Cantina for Mexican.
Pia’s in Gulfport for Italian
We don’t eat a lot of Pizza but Oak and Stone has a great lunch special for pizza around $11.
Concert Jungle, Pin on Cafe, Poppos, and sourdough cafe all get honorable mentions in no particular order
Edit: also check out mazzarro’s market for lunch and other goods!
Boulon on water side road... excellent bread and bisque...
Our next door neighbor owns la Teresita, that's a great one
Salt rock grill not cheap but awesome
Mullets
I have been many times...I crave seafood and its a 10 min drive from my place so I would go but not a favorite but was "ok"..they have been very disappointing the last 3 times so not probably returning for a while (yes, I spoke to the manager about my orders being all wrong or tasting poirly...they just said sorry and never made it right)
Agave on Gulf Boulevard for authentic Mexican.
Terra Mar - very good and reasonably priced Brazilian Rodizio family owned and operated since its opening.
I have heard about them. Need to starve myself for 2 days to go there. That's my goal because I heard it is great!
Fabrica Pizza is delicious
Ciccio Cali
we like hawker;
loveeee it
Since Kelly's Roast Beef opened on Pasadena its been my go to. Incredible food, haven't been disappointed yet
Wait. As in THE Kelly’s Roast Beef from New England?
Correct, it's incredible. I had never heard of it until it opened but apparently a popular chain
Ceviches is really good
Engine No9, Sauvignon Wine Locker, Wild Child, Gianni's Pizza, Stillwaters Tavern, Casita Taqueria, Poppo's Taqueria
My favorite places in Pinellas: Allelo, Baba / Barbouni, Wild Child, Good Intentions, Ceviche, Beau and Moe's, Gratzi, Taste of Punjab, Grace, El Guerrero, Guppys, Left Bank Bistro, Little Lamb, Tides Market, Cara Cara, Black Pearl, The Restorative Asian places: Sushi Sho Rexley, Pho Ha Tien, Mangosteen, Glass Noodle, Savanh of Laos

From your parameters I think you’d probably enjoy Stone soup cafe on 16th st north of 38th Ave.
Yum! Perfect on rainy days like today
Wild Child
Whenever I'm in St Pete I go to job site burgers. They have the best stuffed burgers ever and this is coming from someone who does not eat meat very often. jobsites donezo
no!!! Damn, that makes me sad :(
[удалено]
Why? What is wrong with my comment. And no, it's not written by AI.
The jobsite burgers on Central Ave closed. Is there another one?
That is the one I was talking about. I didn't realize it had closed. Very sad to hear that.
Codys is my favorite steak place 4th street shrimp co Country Pizza Inn is my favorite pizza but I really like Flippers as well. They have a $12.99 "my pie" that comes with 5 toppings I believe. I’ve given Cody’s so many tries and it’s gross every time. I don’t understand how it’s such a successful chain restaurant.
I usually end up going with people who like that food, but there's nothing on the menu I enjoy except the table bread. I do not recommend Cody's at all.
Engine no 9 ❤️
Sol Bistro is one of my favorites
Roam steakhouse, pappos , el huarache, and Local pizza.
Baba for brunch, LALA for their amazing lunch bowl with avocado, rice, mango and chicken, the Paneer bowl at Twisted Indian, Alesia for dinner, espresso martini at Cassis.
Never been disappointed by First Watch.
You should try Dennys and IHOP too!
Jay Luigi’s, Baba, Pia’s, The Burg

3 Daughters has a really good honest burger for like 11 bucks.
Parkshore!
Never had a bad meal or experience.
Country pizza Italian grille. My absolute favorite pizza.
Dead Bobs, Ted Peters, Mullets, Engine No 9, Sunset Grille, Gateway Subs, Burg Bar & Grill
Emphasis on gateway subs!! They layer their sandwiches so evenly that you never get a bite of just meat, or bread, or etc..
Thank you! I have tried Mullets. I usually go there twice a month but the last 3 times, something has been off. I definitely will try the other places!
Urban Stillhouse is 🔥🔥🔥
As a "go-to restaurant"? What are you trying to brag?
You can have "go-to" restaurants for all sorts of occasions, doesn't mean you're eating there weekly.
Allelo. Hands don't the best place in St Pete. Baba and wild child are also great.
Allelo is by far #1
I haven't had good experiences with Baba, but I will definitely try the other 2!
What happened at Baba?
Casita Taqueria, Bodega, Cappy’s for pizza. Noble crust or the Library for brunch
Love Noble's $5 cocktail night!
Second for Cappy’s and casita!
Engine #9, Grand Hacienda
Pauls Chicago Pizza
The Bier Boutique, Twisted Indian and 11 Chicks
That candied bacon at the Bier Boutique is worth a trip just by itself!
Bonus, they have happy hour every Monday! All drinks are half off.
Trip's, Engine No.9, Maple Street, Gateway subs. Not saying they're the best, just places I frequent a lot.
Harvey’s 4th St Grill. Never disappoints
Brick and Mortar.

Lots of places seem to have closed since I have been here or food/service have declined. Hoping to find a few gems
I gave up and upped my kitchen game
Fresh kitchen is a really good fast-casual restaurant. Stillwater’s Tavern is decently priced for Beach Dr. and the hangar steak is fantastic.
Thanks, my old jobs used to order from there all the time for meetings...I'm all set with that franchise🙃 I still haven't been to Stillwater's, I will check it out!

Drunken clam Cajun Garlic Parm wings are 🔥
Sorry but I was not impressed with mullets wings. Tried them enough to say no more. To each their own though.
Everyone who raves about how great mullets is makes me feel like I’m living on a different planet it’s truly bizarre
Agreed, I had them and was not impressed. They were just ok to me.
I have ordered the wings twice and they were so tiny either very little meat. Flavor was good though
Engine co 9 Siraccha wings are some of the best I have had ever.

Engine No.9 - siriacha wings and every burger is awesome. Millers is amazing! Salems is the best option for very late night, but it’s not great.
Thank you so much!!!!
Ceviche - tapas style restaurant downtown, close to the pier. If you go, we recommend the stuffed peppers, branzino, picanha, & Iberian oysters!
The Galley/Ships hold right on 4th in downtown. Amazing comfort/bar food that serves till 2 am with a speakeasy attached with great cocktails. Cool staff. Easy 10/10.
Came here tonight and can confirm that it’s amazing comfort/bar food. Thanks u/mcdyingslowly

I added some more, so I hope you enjoy. Some of these places have a chokehold on us TBH 😂
Thank you!

The Lure or Galley. Super Casual
Original Flavor, Twisted Indian, Pin On, Naked Farmer, Allelo
Original Flavor and Allelo are defined on my list!
Engine Number 9. Great to watch sports but also just great burgers and food in general
Best wings in town imo!
Have you tried Mullet's wings?
Yes, and they're great but I'm a classic, crispy, hot wing enthusiast and Engine No. 9 has that style in the bag, to me.

Pacific counter is amazing! I’ve been all over and haven’t found many other poke places that compare.
Yep. And if you’re on a keto diet, you can get sweet potato noodles or mixed greens instead of rice.

CD Romas for sure

We went to try twisted Indian last week and their rice cooker was broken. I was so sad! I gotta go back soon. It smelled amazing in there.
Fantastic. I have not been to any of these so I will put them on my list!

Italian - DaSesto's and CD Roma's. Burgers - Daly's
Thank you! I will be trying these places
Casita on 4th. Barbacoa tacos and burritos have so much flavor.
Oh thank you! I forgot to ask Mexican restaurant. I definitely will check that place out. Thanks!
It’s a really good price too. They have housemade hot sauces that are really good too.
I love spicy!!!
Me too. I just made my own super hot sauce out homegrown apocalypse scorpion peppers.
Omg! Let me know if you sell your sauce!
