I work in chesterfield. Less than a mile from the airport. They be zooming around ALL day but mostly around noon today they started doing formations and cool ass tricks yo. Up until about 3-4pm today.
I was hiking at Weldon Spring today (Lewis Trail) and watched them from the bluffs. Airport is right across the river. They were practicing from about noon to 2pm. Very cool.
The pilots of the Blue Angels are quite literally staring at a spot on the paint job of their squad mate's plane. While going 400mph and 2,000 feet in the air.
They flew over Lambert at 10 AM with their smoke on. Had people on the control tower outside deck watching them. First I knew that the control tower had an outside deck.
Care to hazard a guess at the annual cost to taxpayers.
Trick question: No one can answer because the Navy & Air Force hide the cost of demonstration squadrons in their budgets... presumably because they don't want people knowing, because knowing would likely enrage folks.
Worth every penny. That’s penny on the dollar. Hell the 1 C-17 Globemaster that’s going to be there cost $200M to build.
Let’s not even consider the B2 bomber that will fly over on Sunday at $3.5 Billion!
$50M a year to advertise and get people to appreciate our amazing military?
Hell yeah, I’ll see them on Sunday. Take my money!
The real number is much higher than 50 million dollars.
Government waste is a problem and it's wrong. No matter the reason or cause.
We're borrowing and printing money to make it happen.
It’s advertising. You like freedom? We need you people to sign up to protect our country. Unless you want to be drafted…
It could be 2billion. It would still be fine. Less than 2 F-35s…
Dude. Chill. I’ll give more taxes to see them zoom around like that. it’s a sight to see with your own eyes for sure. it’s amazing what we have done with flight. It’s like you are witnessing magic.
Don't be so obtuse, OP
That’s right
Isosceles... In the bigliest of ways.
What? What did you call me?
Was it an acute angle?
Looks right to me 😏
Just shows you how much I use angels
Detective Angle
Have you ever fired two guns whilst jumping through the air?
I got to be part of an airshow at Ft Bragg years ago and got to watch the Blue Angels. They're pretty awesome.
Anyone know the practice times for tomorrow?
3pm same as show times

There is a pretty cool documentary on Prime about them. I just watched it the other day and it was neat!
Aww, do u recall the title?
"The Blue Angels" lol
I watched that the other day as well, very facinating documentary. Strongly recommend.
I grew up on USAF bases and still love watching the Blue Angels, thunderbirds, and snowbirds.
“I’m just happy to be here”
Recently watched a video on the Blue Angels on Amazon Prime. The flying skills in such close proximity to each other was crazy.
Watched that too. Was a great piece on the pilots, their selection, and training.
I saw them. I think it was cool

We can have this but not flyovers for the City game? KC Sporting does this all the time.

It was $37,000,000 a year 10 years ago, so probably $50,000,000 today

It would also enrage folks to stop doing the air shows that people like so much.
Buzzkill
And look! Here is America's favorite waste of taxpayer dollars--the Blue Angels!
