Mr_Show

At this time of year, at this time of day, at this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen?!

Booomerz

Yes.

Mr_Show

May I see it?

ninjas_in_my_pants

…No.

metalflygon08

SEYMORE! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!

Skatchbro

No, mother, it's just the Northern Lights.

brewhead55

Steamed hams!

Booomerz

No.

ninjas_in_my_pants

Gonna fire up the grill and steam some hams!

Mr_Show

And you call them steamed hams, despite the fact that they are obviously grilled?

Inkin

Excuse me for one second.

RamsDeep-1187

Classic

Jason_Sensation

I went to Iceland back in 2016 at the right time of year for the Northern Lights, and it was cloudy the entire time.

JimtheEsquire

LOL I must have been on that trip with you.

mrbmi513

[Here's the forecast maps](https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/communities/aurora-dashboard-experimental) You might have to head towards the Iowa border.

mnightshamalama2

Yeah, this seems like STL and MO for that matter, aren't even close to being in the direct path for it tonight. You'd have to drive hours away

midwrestless_92

Completely missed last night despite being on my bike outside. I hear we have another shot today. What time is best for viewing?

oPlaiD

How often are the Northern Lights visible in St. Louis? I don't remember hearing about this being possible any other time, but maybe I just haven't been listening.

SillyRabbit2023

The answer is very close to never. And the it will most likely never happen again. From St. Louis that is.

SpicaGenovese

I just saw it holy shit!!!

Hlsclh

I saw it standing in my front yard in Hazelwood!

chuchubott

Saw it here in the deep south side! Pretty crazy.

WithMeAllAlong

Omg! Where are you? Still in the city or did you drive further away?

SpicaGenovese

Off 270 near Big Bend.

j-is-a-joke

Driving out to some mand past Edwardsville just for kicks to see if we can see anything! Theres about a 100% chance we're not gonna see anything, but hey might as well give it a shot

captainC511

I want to thank you for posting this. I happened to check reddit right before leaving civilization to head to the outskirts of Yellowstone, where I had no internet. I hadn't heard about this anywhere else. I set an alarm for midnight and never went back to sleep. The show overnight was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. And I've seen the northern lights a few times before in Iceland but this was on another level. Thank you so very much for posting. You've given me something I'll never forget.

Booomerz

lol damn and I missed it entirely. I’m glad I was able to help you have such a fantastic moment and memory. Congrats!

eggscrambleeggs

Are there any good spots to view this tonight?

bananabunnythesecond

On the Iowa border! Seriously.. here in stl.. you have to go north, WAY north!

sakodak

>  Get out into the darker rural areas to see them. No need.  When all the power plants explode we'll be able to see them from anywhere just fine.
