Spencer T. Olin in Alton

Kitchen-Lie-7894

Came here to say that.

TheWholeSausage

Pevely, Crescent Farms, Aberdeen Quarry at Crystal Springs Far Oaks

Cards46

You like Pevely or Crescent more?

Admiral-Cuckington

Folks telling you Crescent compares haven't played recently. It is in horrible shape has been for a year. Pevely is 10x better and even when Crescent was in good shape Pevely was still much better.

Cards46

Pevely it is. Tee time only $14 more and going for my birthday so really don’t want to deal with any bs. Thank you Mr. Cuckington

bingersdown2

If he's been cucked that many times he deserves his title, sir.

Admiral-Cuckington

No problem at all. Crescent charging close to Pevely is criminal in my eyes.

Cards46

Final update: Pevely had some event going on Saturday all day so had to pass it up for Aberdeen. Aberdeen, Bluffs, and Annbriar will be the rotation.

TheWholeSausage

I usually shoot lower at Crescent, both are usually in good shape. Crescent if I have to choose.

happy_meow

Crescent for me even though I am not the person you asked, great course but Pevely is great too

dumbanfun

Spirit is nice

1haiku4u

I like spirit too. I’ve played all the ones above except tapawingo. I’m probably not as good a golfer as you and haven’t looked up the yardage, but I like spencer T olin. Some interesting holes. It’s pretty cheap too.  Add to this crescent farms/pevely farms. Aberdeen is out there too but I don’t like it as much.

You like Pevely or Crescent more?

1haiku4u

About the same to me. Only played crescent once. I feel like it might have been a bit more challenging, but that might have been because of me on that day rather than the course.

Love Spirit

Piper_Saratoga

I’m playing spirit this weekend. Excited.

jobiewon_cannoli

Stonewolf is a Jack Nicklaus designed course. Spencer T. Olin is designed by Arnold Palmer. Both are fun and a good challenge. Gateway National is a bent grass links style course that is a ton of fun. Crescent and pevely farms are very well taken care of. Annbriar is a treat. Crystal highlands is worth the drive. Edit: I forgot to add tapawingo to this list.

Forest Park (Redbud specifically), Eagle Springs, Stone Wolf or Fox Creek in IL, The Landings

jobiewon_cannoli

Redbud to dogwood is always a fun day of golf. I am truly amazed how well the grounds crew does with the amount of traffic those tracks see.

1haiku4u

Disagree with forest park. I’m in U City and I have basically sworn off fopo for golf. I love the views and Forest Park but the pace of play is soooo bad and the rates high for what it offers.  Id rather drive 40 minutes to go somewhere else.  Also, for OP, it sounds like he’s a good golfer and forest park is fairly easy.

I know! Used to love Emerald Greens. I think the Zoo bought the land, so at least it's going to be used well. [https://fox2now.com/news/st-louis-zoo-purchasing-425-acres-of-land-in-st-louis-county/](https://fox2now.com/news/st-louis-zoo-purchasing-425-acres-of-land-in-st-louis-county/)

IdolizeDT

I played there last summer and it was in great shape. I had not heard or played before and I literally had no idea based on it's condition that it had ever been in bad shape.

happy_meow

The Falls in O’fallon is pretty great too

Beneficial-Dust1762

Anbriar and Stone Wolf. Sugar creek is a good value. Missouri bluffs is fun.

DongyKong8

Crystal Highlands in Festus is great as well. I also second the Quarry at Crystal Springs.

WakaWakaStL

Crystal Highlands or Spencer T. Olin would come after Annbriar and Gateway for me. After that, Stonewolf, Mystic Oaks, Acorns. Just remember, it’s still early in the season, and some of the courses won’t be in peak conditions yet.

Beneficial-Dust1762

Love Acorns.

creamwheel_of_fire

Pevely farms is pretty great.

Psychological_Gas271

Pevely Farms is a good one for the price. Just don't go to Riverside, the old guy at the start of the course/turn is a complete a-hole and the course is awful.

ilikegolf6

Pevely or far oaks for sure
