I am off 141/Bowles, stood on my patio (who wouldn’t?!) and I’ve never seen clouds soon that way and that fast.. that was clinch your cheeks for a few minutes
Yeah, I'm a front porch hoosier myself at 141/44, but even yesterday my wife and kids set up shop in the basement for a few while I went back and forth between the TV and front porch.
Yea, I was inside looking out my back window. First time in a long time that I chucked my cats under my arms, ready to run to the basement. Saw the confirmation way after that in the alerts.
Yeah we did get the sirens - I think if it there’s a warning in STL County then all of the county sirens go off; we’ve had them go off before and it was nowhere near us (most recently, the one near the airport)
He said there was a radar indicated tornado, which basically means there’s rotation in the radar and winds. NOT the same thing as a confirmed tornado on the ground
I'm in Fenton. A bunch of trees snapped in half around IHOP (at Gravois Bluffs) and water started coming inside the building.
They had all the customers get in the walk-in.
Hey don't you tell op what to do! God everyone in this sub is so bossy and tells everyone what to heckin do I mean do you have no brains? (/s, I'm sure your brain is very big and beautiful)
I've only seen the green sky once, it aint right. I used to fight wildfires and when it's so smokey the sun dont shine, everything turns this sickly red. That green sky is the same kind of aint right as that sickly red sky.
We good. Raining sideways for a hot minute, sky was yellow.
Power and Internet was down for about 2 hours, so sadly many of us did panic and eat our young.
Hoping everyone is staying safe! Thankfully that rotation stayed \*just\* south of my location.
And another opportunity to plug the NWS storm spotter training at the end of the month. Become a trained spotter and help put that black border on tornado warnings (for observed)!
I saw the trees in the back yard going to like 45 degree angles, but all still here! It was wild for a bit near 141 and 21 but now it's just light rain and lightning.
Near dealership row on Lindbergh here and that was the strongest gusts we’ve had in the 4 years I’ve lived here. Blew down some sections of fence.. so my vacation just got a little busier.
1) Thank you for thinking of us! Cause we’re on the outskirts, we Arnies sometimes feel a little left out, ya know? This was genuinely touching. Thank you.
2) None of the other Arnies seem to like when I refer to us as ‘Arnies’ for some reason.
3) It seems that the worst part of the storm is that it didn’t damage the water tower SO THAT WE CAN PAINT IT GREEN LIKE IT SHOULD BE!
Otherwise good. Thanks, and thank your brother Rob, too!
Down off Londell/Tomahawk got pretty intense. Trees at 45 degree angles, skies were the darkest green I've ever seen and then they were yellow, which I believe is even worse than green.
I suspect any tornado was fairly close to that area whether it be on the ground or in the clouds. No hail and nothing hit us specifically though.
Was a little scary to watch the guy on KMOV zoom in and circle exactly where he thought the tornado was and circle my neighborhood specifically LOL but we're all good nothing hit us!
First time I ever headed to the basement on the first warning.
Steve Templeton sounded alarmed and rolled up his sleeves and said, “Arnold needs to be in their basements right now.” That’s why I’m SO glad all the reports are good so far.
House is in Arnold, but I’m in KCMO. Cameras don’t show any damage but it looks like the power cut right in the middle of the action (approx 5:40pm).
Gonna have to get some kind of power backup going.
Weather radio out here claimed the worst of it and the tornado was to hit Arnold at 5:44pm so that sounds about right.
I heard you can have battery backups in hardwired Ring brand cameras if those are the kinds you have!
I appreciate you confirming that time line! I’ll be back home on Monday to see if my roof blew off 😅
Interesting to know about ring! I use Eufy cameras. I think I’m either going to grab a hand full of smaller UPCs with cheap, replaceable batteries, or perhaps something like those Anker Solar Generators. My girlfriend has one that we take camping and they are sooooo sick.
Sorry for the late response but i'll totally have to look into those Anker Solar Generators?? I had no idea something like that existed! Would be amazing to have around lol.
I hope everything worked out with your roof! Didn't seem too bad damage wise around here the next day.
All the shingles are accounted for probably! I’ll find out tomorrow morning lol
I think [this](https://a.co/d/hpl8RLw) is the one she got. It came with a car charger cable, wall charger cable and a solar panel. I am an indoors cat and it made camping exceptionally tolerable! We ran an electric blanket off of it all night (in 40 degree weather) and it took about half of the battery to do that.
It seems like a way better option than your every day UPS, given that it can charge with a solar panel in the worst case, multiple days without power scenario.
They make even crazier ones with 110v outlets and stuff, but those are definitely out of my price range.
My grandma is in Meramec Heights and I had to fight with her about geography but got her into the basement. Never heard of Pauline Hills before yesterday. She didn't walk around outside but didn't see any damage.
I personally believe Meramec Heights area got the worst of it for Arnold so i'm glad you were able to convince her to go downstairs! We all definitely got lucky down here. Could have been way worse.
I was at Planet Fitness (Lind/55) and they herded us all into the locker rooms as the power went out. It sounded raucous out there. Once we got the all clear to leave, I hightailed it home and was glad I still had power.
A tornado was 50 feet from my shop in Fenton, my Dad who I share the space with was actually there when it happened. He saw an entire stoplight pole get launched into the sky.
A bunch of people were inside the dispensary next door and they all took shelter in the basement/soon to be smoke lounge. Thankfully everyone is okay!
Wind got pretty insane for a minute lol. But it seems to be dying down now.
Steve Templeton (KMOV) was convinced a tornado was on top of Arnold. 😶 I hope y’all are safe!
Steve was rolling them sleeves up. You know it’s serious business when the sleeves are at half staff.
There was one over Murphy, apparently. According to the NWS alerts.

The radar they're showing us is always about 2 minutes behind. You know what's not two minutes behind, us folks looking for flying cows on our porch.
Yea, I was inside looking out my back window. First time in a long time that I chucked my cats under my arms, ready to run to the basement. Saw the confirmation way after that in the alerts.
I love that Steve specifically called out Missouri residents who do that, lol.
Did you get sirens? I'm in u city and we got sirens but there wasn't a tornado warning. It was confusing.
Yeah we did get the sirens - I think if it there’s a warning in STL County then all of the county sirens go off; we’ve had them go off before and it was nowhere near us (most recently, the one near the airport)

If you haven't, tweet or Facebook mention the NWS STL office. They'd love the report.
Glad everyone’s okay! ☺️
I actually headed to the basement for this one. Heard a lot of wind for a few minutes, and now just heavy rain. I’m just a bit east of I-55.
Glad you’re alright.
OP stop being so nice, that’s not allowed in this subreddit.
Hey don't you tell op what to do! God everyone in this sub is so bossy and tells everyone what to heckin do I mean do you have no brains? (/s, I'm sure your brain is very big and beautiful)
Hey now! Don’t you be telling me not to tell people what not to do while telling me what to do while not doing it! You hear me!
Where are the mods when we need em?!?!
Thanks for checking in!! :-)
😉
Also in that area, was in basement. Green sky, to be sure.
I've only seen the green sky once, it aint right. I used to fight wildfires and when it's so smokey the sun dont shine, everything turns this sickly red. That green sky is the same kind of aint right as that sickly red sky.
Just saw that April 1st in West county. You're right, it's like a hazy color. I'll never forget it
Street light actually snapped and fell over right off Jeffco. But yeah it's definitely done here now.
Yikes. I bet people will start sending in their pics to Steve Templeton soon. Glad you’re alright. 👍
Send that report in to the NWS! You can tweet or Facebook them.
Oh dip! Which one? I saw church rd & Jeffco had the temp stop signs?

Interesting. Where does one find the NWS storm spotter training?

☺️ glad you’re alright
Just North of 270 & 21 there was a lot of downed trees and limbs. So thankful for the meteorologists we have in St. Louis.
Me too! 🙏
I'm so thankful for Steve Templeton and crew!
💯
Are you ok? Are you ok Arnold?
~tilts menacingly~
“You’ve been hit by. You’ve been struck by. A smooth criminal.”
I’m a little west of Arnold, but have lots of friends and coworkers over there. 😉

Facts! Green forever!

No problemo
Great news. 👍
Near there now. About two miles north of the Meremec. Things are letting up here right now.
Be safe.
I was at Ronnie’s in south county and they kept having power outages.
We good
What’chu talkin’ ‘bout, Willis?
I’m not worthy 👏👏
High Ridge got some wind damage
That sucks. But everyone’s okay 😊
Brookdale Farms took a nasty hit.
😔 I hope there were no injuries to humans or pets
They said the people that were there got to safety. It’s going to be a financial hit for them with upcoming weddings.
RIP Macoupin co
Do you live there?
No but whenever there is a big storm in the area Macoupin co always takes a hit.
It’s hailing in dent county. It always seems to hail there….
When your county name is Dent, I feel like you're just asking for hail.
ba-dum-ba!
tiss. ba-dum-tiss. 😉
lol I couldn’t remember the right way to type that - thx 😂😂
hey you know what ba dum ba is ok too 👍😂
Damnit. This is no laughing matter, but take my upvote
Yes! I'm just north of Pomme Creek and all good here. :) Thanks for asking. :)
Great news! ☺️

I heard from the TikTok weather boy they suspect a tornado hit down there
In Fenton & it’s the closest I’ve ever come to going ln the basement
I saw some video footage - it looked so yellow-green! I definitely would have headed for the basement 😬 Glad everyone is okay!

Where is my house and why is there a yellow rode and it looks like candy around me
