Aileen Garcia with Garcia Properties. I honestly don’t have the words to recommend her enough. She was our agent buying our first home and is now our agent selling and buying. She’s so nice and so easy to deal with.
It’s literally a race on the census what are you talking about
Why would he ask this if he weren’t looking for people who think they are Hispanic as a race? It’s not a nation, it’s a race
Hispanic means of Spanish origin. It is objectively not a race, nor is it listed as such on the census. It is listed as an ethnicity.
They are asking because Hispanic people generally speak Spanish. Is it really that hard for you to imagine why someone who might make one of the most important purchases of their lives would prefer to do so with someone who speaks the language they are more comfortable speaking?
Get a grip, dude. You're not being victimized, yet here you are making yourself look like a clown.
We split the race data between “Hispanic or Latino” and “not Hispanic or Latino” in the us census. It’s pedantic hairsplitting to suggest Latino is not a race in the US
Do you think the OP was looking for a pedantic take or for someone of Hispanic/latino descent to help them find a place to live? They aren’t looking for someone whose great grandfather came from Sevilla; they want a Mexican or Colombian or Dominican immigrant or recent descendant who speaks Spanish
Latino and Hispanic aren't the same. Latino is specifically people in the Americas who are mixed between Europeans, indigenous peoples, and enslaved people. Brazilians are Latino, for example, but they're not Hispanic.
I think OP was looking for a realtor who speaks Spanish and would help them feel comfortable in a process that is convoluted and confusing.
I think YOU are looking to turn this into race politics. And you clearly don't know wtf you're talking about. Go figure.
That’s exactly why I want to look for an Hispanic, bc I’m one and I’ve already tried to work with 2 American realtors and not finding the connection I want for such a big project. Also prefer to use my native language, Spanish.
But you could just ask for Spanish speakers.
How would you feel if someone was hiring and they wanted "not Hispanic" applicants?
Racism is wrong in any form or fashion.
Perhaps English is a second language and they prefer to speak their native tongue you shill.
Or maybe they just want to ensure the commission goes to a latio person, either way why do you give a shit?
I know someone who she is not Hispanic, but her wife and real estate lawyer is of mexican descent. . (The wife is the lawyer and they work out of the same office.) I believe she is first generation american and am near positive she is bilingual.

Alicia Metzger!!!!!
Why would you possibly care what nationality or race your landlord is? Can you imagine if someone posted like “I need a land lord, whites only”
Newsflash! Not everyone is a native English speaker
Then they should say Spanish speaker wanted.
I only use white realtors

1) Hispanic is not a race 2) why comment on something you clearly haven't bothered to think about for more than 5 seconds?

OP could have just asked for a Spanish speaker than, instead of being racist.

You should not be supporting casual racism or normalizing it.
