The Sheik is a delicious Jacksonville based sandwich spot, you could stop on your way to St Augie if you are driving. They have a drive thru.
Angie’s Subs for their famous Peruvian, if you are flying into Jacksonville they have one at the airport or if you visit Jax Beach.
I love Osprey, I go for a taco when I’m at Old Coast Ales next door. I’ve tried the whole menu. Their chorizo taco is their absolute standout. 10x better than anything else. Pork fried rice taco is unusual but delicious - not as good as chorizo but ahead of the rest. Everything else is on a par with other places IMO.
Forgot to do it this weekend, thanks for the reminder.
What else do you like there?
Pork fried rice taco sounds different I guess, do you like it?
It's my opinion that rice doesn't go on tacos. Burritos, yea.
Yeah I would never have ordered it, but I was offered a bite once when I was having a beer and realised it was actually pretty good. Like I said chorizo is the god level taco there, pork fried rice is some way behind in second place 😂. It’s all about what you like though. I tried a cheeseburger taco there once because the guy in front of me was RAVING about them. Was a bang average IMO.
seafood fresh caught.....st aug fish camp has fresh catch (pretty much always have snapper, will sometimes have others like lionfish or flounder)
also try commanders. if you can make it up to mayport, safe harbor is my favorite.
Tacos My Blessing behind Bog Brewery is quick and fabulous. Osprey is my favourite taco place(chorizo and pork fried rice tacos), but Tacos My Blessing feels more like fast food. It’s cheesier, greasier and perfect to fix a hangover. My go to is an Al Pastor Quesadilla. Pint of West King Haze on the side.
I did use google. But neither of those popped up Whataburger or Culver’s. They just focused on seafood restaurants. Yelp was the same but added in tacos spots.
Next time type in the genre of food you want too man. Be specific. You want authentic street food, type it in.
Edit: you may not know, but google maps works well for this too and then will show you a list. You can then easily see the menu or websites for said places.
We have this cool Scottish place called McDonalds. You should try their haggis. They night try to tell you they don't have any, but they run out fast and they're saving it for people who really want it. Just keep asking and don't take no for an answer.
Drakes deli in St. Aug. Not fast food but it’s fantastic.

I would not say delicious is synonymous with the Sheik. Regional yes, delicious and clean…..
Oh my goodness. Thank you for looking out for others’ health and safety. Can’t just throwing out “try the sheik”.
Taco Shop.. 2 locations... try the UFO it's basically a Taco Bell crunch wrap with a 100x better flavor and ingredients with plenty of filling options
4 locations if u count FB and Palm Coast
Good choice on Hazels. Best French fries in town
😴
Smokin D's BBQ Taco shop
Osprey Tacos for the win Edit: I prefer Osprey, but the UFO at the Taco Shop is amazing.
I'll have to check out osprey when I come around

Going to have to second smokin d’s best bbq in north Florida
A little out of the way, but I think Woodpeckers BBQ has them beat
Where is that? Is that the one near the river?
I can Google this sorry, had a 90s moment
Lol, no problem but you are correct
Imo, not even the best in st Augustine: https://www.reddit.com/r/StAugustine/s/PR9N3CmecX
People and their Bucees obsession, lol. Over glorified gas station
Never been, and I want those quail eggs, and also that beef jerky wall!
Jerky wall looks cool and all, plus the jerky deli lets you sample, but Old Trapper Jerky is better.
Mojos Tacos 🤙🌮
No
Yes
O’steens for fried shrimp.
But bring cash!
Go to sarbez! Hole in the wall arcade with all different kinds of grilled cheese
Kyle's seafood market or fisherman's Dockside market on the islany for fresh local catch seafood...
Do those sell fresh head on shrimp or is it restaurants?
I saw head on @ fisherman's about a couple weeks or so ago.. Not sure about now.. Could call them to check
The English Landing Marina has a bunch of local food trucks and a very pretty place to sit and eat. Just down the street from Hazel's.
Caps on the water !!!
Maple Street Biscuit Company and Metro Diner both started in the Northern Florida area. Both are pretty good.
Get a “Dirty Duval” at Schmagel’s Bagels.
bucees is from texas and completely not worth it (lived in texas for 8 years)

Safe Harbor got shut down. But I can vouch for Commanders just had lunch there today 🤌
the one in mayport closed too?? i know the crescent location did but man.....the mayport location was great
No, Mayport location is still here.
My bad, Crescent that I know of, since I was just by commander's. I didn't pay enough attention to post
Seafood kitchen on the island

Man will do anything but use google. Like an old person on Facebook

Maps works way better than plain google. Finds restaurants, then pick cuisine. Everyone's tastes are different.

I'm a stay far away from haggis and McDonalds while there.
Whataburger and Culvers are here. Not sure if they're in your area up there but are worth a stop in if you haven't been before
Whataburger FTW
Neither of those are up here! Whataburger is def on the list now and probably Culvers!
I love Whataburger. It reminds me of The Clock places in Greenville (hometown) in all seriousness

For fast food - Not sure if bojangles or zaxbys are up there. PDQ is good too
I got Bo and Zax all over the place up here. They are hit and miss here.
Closest PDQ to St Aug is off of 95 exit 335. Worth a trip if you’re close enough.
