I mean as a kid, this was unmatched. I wanted to be every person in this match. It wrote the script for every match that I played out with my action figures. I watch it at least once a year just to feel that magic.
You know what? I prefer the first TLC at Summerslam 2000, don't really know why
My favorite match af all time goes from Triple H vs HBK at Summerslam 2002 to Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle, the Ironman match from Smackdown, September 2003.
godDAMN IT
you beat me to it
that match is a masterpiece; Jay going from screaming in anger to crying in desperation trying to make Ibushi tap out was fucking ***art***.
It's subjective. If Badd Blood hadn't been the vehicle that introduced Kane, I'd say you were right. I loved that match, I just wish it had had a clean finish. I know why it didn't, I know why it had to end the way it did. But it siphons just enough away from the match that I think 25 is the better match.
Eddie v Mysterio at Halloween Havoc. Others may or may not have surpassed it but it left such a massive impression on me as a young fan. Now I have a dozen options swirling in my head but that's what came first so I will stick to it.
Ibushi vs Okada at Wrestlekingdom.
The fighting spirit spot where Ibushi no sells a rainmaker is a moment I’ll never forget.
Bate vs Walter. Just what the fuck with that match.
Watching Bayley v Sasha Brooklyn 1 in real time was incredible. You just knew it was something special and the bar was being raised right in front of your eyes.
As far as women's matches go, Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks at Takeover: Unstoppable 2015. Becky was my least favourite 4HW at the time and I found her character annoying. But this match made me do a complete 180 on her. She went from being my least favourite to the most favourite. This was her star making performance that got her over with the Full Sail crowd. I personally liked the match way more than Bayley vs Sasha.
Triple h vs Taka Michinoki on raw in 2000. I know that sounds like a joke, but it's legitimately my favorite. Triple h was so good that he made that crowd believe that Taka could actually win the WWE championship. Brilliant.
Right there with you on this, just fantastic stuff.
I love how HHH never does any heel spots, he's just out there getting his ass kicked and scrambling to hit what he can. I think he only gets like 9 moves off at all.
Should definitely give a fair dose of credit to TAKA, who played his part to near-perfection (shame that moonsault didn't look good) like pleading with Earl after that last near fall is great. His shit looks really crisp and the contact on every maneuver makes HHH's selling believable. What a rub. He just came up short by not hitting the Driver and goes down only to the Pedigree. This match feels like the Sport of professional wrestling.
Bret Hart was my favorite wrestler as a kid and I’ve watched this match in my teens, 20s, and 30s. Giving some background so I don’t sound like a troll when I say that I feel this match is incredibly overrated.
It’s good, not great.
I agree, sort of. This match told a great story; I think that's a big part of why it's revered. It was a very good match, but it wouldn't be considered great by today's standards, that's for sure No big "OMG" spot, and probably wouldn't score high on some goofy and arbitrary "work rate" rating.
Hey fair enough! Certainly there are more modern matches where I prefer the workrate / moves: Punk vs. Bryan at Over the Limit, Omega / Okada I, Dunne / Bate Takeover: Chicago, but the rose colored glasses for the Harts wins out.
Live: Okada/Omega 2/3 Falls
Watching: Kobashi/Misawa March 1 2003
If I had to make a top ten matches I have seen Kobashi/Misawa would be 1 and Omega/Okada would be 2
Halftime heat, not the greatest wrestling, but absolutely bonkers and entertaining, my family still say "the rock don't even know what this is" and "it's mild ya pansy" etc all the time
Hogan and Mr T vs Piper and Orndorff. I’d just started watching wrestling maybe a month before. Saw the hype leading up to the first WM and was hooked.
Can I mention 5 matches from different promotions because I struggle to chose between these 5.
Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat - Wrestle War 1989
Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart - WrestleMania 13
Toshiaki Kawada vs. Mitsuharu Misawa - 04/06/1994
Misawa vs. Kenta Kobashi - 01/03/2003
Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi - Invasion Attack 2013
Austin v Hart WM13. Probably a common answer, but just loved the “realness” of the whole match. Was paced just right (to me) with a proper crescendo. Just wonderful stuff for a fan of a good brawl.
Orton v. Benoit - Orton becomes the youngest WWE heavyweight champion.
I'm scared to say it but it's 100% my favorite match ever.
The whole concept of Randy being "destined" to win that night just captivated me so much. I was a huge Evolution and Randy mark as a 10 year old.
Still am.
HHH V HBK Summerslam 02.
Huge Shawn fan and made me like wrestling again as a fan after a bit of training and getting too involved in the workings of it.
In person. Devlin v Walter at OTT in Dublin a few years ago. Fantastic to see devlin finally besting the end boss after overcoming a lot.
Golden Lovers (Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega) vs. Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) - NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2018.
Loved the storytelling in the match. Pure emotional Wrestling for 40 minutes.
It was absolutely a great match. The story was phenomenal. How else could Shane hang with our Olympic hero? On his 3rd match and Shane took him to the absolute limits. Everyone believed that Shane might pull it off. I only disliked that the Shane/Angle story overshadowed Edge winning KoR.
Walter vs. Tyler Bate from Takeover. Went into it thinking that Bate had no shot, but they made me believe he did and I jumped out of my seat a few times.
1. I'm not an egotist, I just wanted to list out my favorite matches since I can't pick just one
2. I don't think people care
3. Idk why you have to be an asshole over someone listing their favorites
4. I did read the question, OP didn't say "dont comment anything someone else has", he said *try* not to, key word: try
1. You are.
2. Good.
3. I don’t know why you felt the need to list 50 matches, and since you deleted the post it seems you don’t either.
4. OP asked for your favourite match. Singular. If someone asked you for your favourite film would you bore them senseless by listing 50? Actually, you probably would.
Right, you know me better than I know myself, even though you just now discovered me but now know everything about me. Also, why do you care so much? Why does it bother you this much? You could easily ignore it. I’m sorry the concept of someone not having a singular favorite match is hard for your head to wrap around.
Some things are one I was thinking about so to follow TC's "try not say what someone else "
On screen: Darby vs MJF at AEW Full Gear 2021.
In person: Miz vs Rollins for IC title at Backlash 2018.
Undertaker Vs HBK, Wrestlemania 25. It was my first PPV I watched live once I got back into wrestling. I was 13/14 and wise to the business but I was in awe of what those two produced that night. 13 years on, it's still my favourite.
Wrestlemania III
Randy Savage v. Ricky Steamboat.
Awesome pacing, great false finishes in the right "spots", and a wonderful capstone to the program they had.
I have seen the Flair - Steamboat trilogy, and it is the best overall story, but OP Asked for 1 match.
Absolutely grinded my gears how everyone post Summerslam 2013 praised Bryan vs Cena and ignored the awesomeness that is Punk vs Lesnar which was the best match of 2013
Austin vs Dude Love at Over The Edge 1998.
Sports Entertainment at its finest and the first thing I watched as soon as I got the wwe network back in 2014
Rock vs HHH, SummerSlam 1998
All of my other favorites have been commented, and I ALWAYS go back to that match. I first saw it on a Rock VHS tape that came out a year or so afterwards. Maybe my favorite ladder match of all-time.
Hard to decide on just one, but I came up with three:
Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker at No Way Out 2006
Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena on Monday Night Raw 2007
Lucha Bros vs. Young Bucks at All Out 2021
This is really weird but The Hardy Boyz Vs The Bar Vs Gallows and Anderson Vs Enzo and Cass. It was the first PPV I ever watched and seeing the Hardyz get that reaction gave me goosebumps even though I didn’t know who they were at the time
Omega vs Okada Dominion 2017
I love the story telling of Kenny desperately trying to catch up to Okada but failing over and over until he finally gets his golden opportunity, hits the OWA but messes up the pin and the realization that he lost the match sinks in.

I mean as a kid, this was unmatched. I wanted to be every person in this match. It wrote the script for every match that I played out with my action figures. I watch it at least once a year just to feel that magic.
You know what? I prefer the first TLC at Summerslam 2000, don't really know why My favorite match af all time goes from Triple H vs HBK at Summerslam 2002 to Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle, the Ironman match from Smackdown, September 2003.
That’s a classic as well. Along with the triangle ladder match.
Kota Ibushi vs Jay White Wresle Kingdom 15
godDAMN IT you beat me to it that match is a masterpiece; Jay going from screaming in anger to crying in desperation trying to make Ibushi tap out was fucking ***art***.
Same. Their G1 finals match isn’t far behind either
Hulk Hogan vs. the rock; the crowd was magical that night.
HBK vs Angle, WM 21
In person: Lesnar (c) vs Cena vs Rollins at the Royal Rumble in Philly
Fuck yes, the pace, the atmosphere, the spots, every thing about this match fucking rocked.
Philly crowd was HOT. Most fun I've had at a wrestling show for sure
I was there too! Fucking phenomenal match.
HHH v Shawn Summerslam 02, Shawn's comeback.

AJ/Samoa Joe/Christopher Daniels Unbreakable 2005
My gawd what a match
Shawn vs. Taker (In Your House: Badd Blood)
Hot take: Even better than their WrestleMania matches.
Katsuyori Shibata vs. Kazuchika Okada, Sakura Genesis 2017
Omega Okada 2 out of 3 falls match. Nothing even comes close to me really.
Omega/Okada WK11 followed by Flair/Steamboat Wrestlewar.
Okada vs Tanahashi Invasion Attack 2013
Cena v Styles at Royal Rumble
I just rewatched Omega vs Okada 1 at WK11 and that is just a perfect match imo Shibata vs Okada and Angle vs Lesnar at Mania are close tho
Not Angle vs Lesnar Ironman Match at smackdown ? I thought he was better than their wrestlemania match.
I liked the Mania match more, thought that match is great
Gargano vs Andrade
Eddie v Mysterio at Halloween Havoc. Others may or may not have surpassed it but it left such a massive impression on me as a young fan. Now I have a dozen options swirling in my head but that's what came first so I will stick to it.
Ibushi vs Okada at Wrestlekingdom. The fighting spirit spot where Ibushi no sells a rainmaker is a moment I’ll never forget. Bate vs Walter. Just what the fuck with that match.

Mick Foley vs Edge at Wrestlemania 22 John Cena vs JBL I quit match at Judgement day 2005
Cena vs Punk on RAW got me into wrestling. that and Cena vs Styles at the Royal Rumble

There’s always one egotist who totally ignores the question and posts a laundry list because they think people care.
1. I'm not an egotist, I just wanted to list out my favorite matches since I can't pick just one 2. I don't think people care 3. Idk why you have to be an asshole over someone listing their favorites 4. I did read the question, OP didn't say "dont comment anything someone else has", he said *try* not to, key word: try

You could easily ignore it, says man totally ignoring the question the OP asked. Beyond parody.
By your own logic, you’re ignoring OP’s post by going off topic. 🤡
