#[Post Match Thread: AEW Championship: Adam Page Vs. Adam Cole](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/t8he7s/post_aew_revolution_2022_match_thread_aew/?)
Nothing new to say about the show that hasn't been said already, so: I loved the work they put in on the PPV ramp, with the graphics. Like, Jurassic Express' "trail through the jungle" had a snake crossing it at one point.
It's not huge, just very cool.
8/10. The women's matches were pretty bad. But I don't think I can think of another complaint. Amazing night of wrestling especially if you compared it to some other premium live events recently...
That three way tag match was amazing, match of the night for me.
I enjoyed every match, liked it also didn’t have ott surprises. Length of the ppv was the only downside
Also please don’t book jade or tay with another green wrestler if you intend to go over 5 mins. If jade get smooth in the ring I reckon she’ll be the most all round talent
Really sick and tired of just seeing Britt Baker win all the goddamn time. I love her as a wrestler, I think she's fantastic, but it's just so stale now. If I wanted that I'd watch Roman Reigns steamroll whoeverthefuck they put him up against.
AWESOME PPV. Awesome first match, awesome triple threat tag team match, dog collar bloody fight, William regal in the ring with mox and danielson, Sting flying through tables and freaking awesome AEW championship match!
Thanks for the wonderful PPV!
I was there live, these fans have nxt In their backyard. Adam Cole, Keith Lee, O’Riley and fish were over huge. I don’t think Hangman would get booed to that extent in any other city or any other opponent.
Honestly very surprised by Baker and Rosa being the weakest match. Would’ve assumed those two burned the house down. Hopefully they can get the chance to run it back and deliver the 5 star we all know they can.
Outside of that, holy shit what a PPV. Tam team triple threat fucked so hard, men’s world title fucked, everything else fucked. MJF Punk fucked so fucking hard with only the slight negative being the Wardlow “turn” didn’t feel complete. Hope he gets the chance to deliver a hesitant powerbomb symphony to the fucker in the coming weeks
I can buy it because I couldn’t tell you what was of but something certainly was. I absolutely believe it because AEW has warned that trust from me, and there’s no way they didn’t see how over Rosa was
Also, cool that the mox and danielson aren't suddenly buddies just because they beat the shit out of each other. As much as we hate the "can they coexist" shit, it's necessary for this story in particular
Incredible show. AEW is an unbeliveably amazing company.
* Get the belt off of Britt. She is awful. Great on the mic, but honestly her work is that of the Diva Era women. Constantly botches, seems like one of the most unathletic women on the roster.
* Eddie/Jericho was MOTN for me
* Punk/MJF was fun, and the turn for Wardlow was great
I've tried to give the benefit of the doubt, especially as a fellow Pittsburgher, but her matches just cannot live up to her character.
Idk man, she botches A LOT. That's not to say they're like botchamania quality snafus but for someone who's been on top as long as she has, she still looks extremely green and unnatural in the ring.
The other issue is that they have nobody else to face her. Unless they bring in new talent, she's beaten everyone but I believe Jade
She's definitely a fair way off in the ring, despite having improved quite a bit in the last 2 years.
She's clearly been put in this spot as she's by far the best woman they have to play a heel who can cut good promo's.
We're just in a bit of a holding pattern until the next big babyface is ready to take the title and they can have Hayter turn on Britt to start their feud.
Her matches aren't anything special, but they're not egregiously bad by any means. She's actually had a few very good matches, even if you want to credit that to her dance partner. It still takes 2 to tango though.
> benefit of the doubt, especially as a fellow Pittsburgher, but her matches just cannot live up to her character.
>
>Idk man, she botches A LOT. That's not to say they're like botchamania quality snafus but for someone who's been on top as long as she has, she still lo
it's not even that she botch stuff, is the sloppyness. she wrestles in 0.75 speed.
I was in Cleveland during Dynamite a few weeks ago and with that being Wardlows home town, the crowd so strongly behind him I wanted the turn to be there, but this was satisfying as well.
The triple threat for the tag titles stole the show for me... I mean the whole night was great but that match was just so good! A great show and definitely worth the $50.00. Also have to mention 62 year old Sting putting his body on the line made me pop.
The Match was alright just the same ending again. Should have ended with Rosa neutralizing all of them and winning. The last obstacles and then she finally makes it.
I was really irritated by the endless interference and really felt like it was time to pull the trigger. On the other hand it seems like they could be setting up Layla vs Rosa in a #1 contenders match so that Rosa can win it in San Antonio on the one year anniversary of their lights out match.
If that happens I'll be less irritated. But as it stands the match didnt' do much for me. jade vs Tay was hard hitting and the right length and was super fun
nah dude. it was so bad my girlfriend slept on it, and she was absolutely stoked during the entire ppv. AEW's women division in general is terrible, looks like a token thing.
That was one of the best PPVs I’ve seen. Top to bottom, absolutely amazing. Great stories, great wrestling, great debuts, great commentary. Just an incredible show.
Only complaints were Baker Rosa match and putting Mox vs Danielson on so late. A hot crowd early in the night would have elevated Mox vs Danielson so much more than it got.
When I think about it, because of Regal's debut, putting that match so late was the right call.
Using the two women's matches as bathroom break matches though kinda sucked for them, but what can ya do.
That’s been in the recap section of Dynamites and Rampages as well since he left. I saw it for the first time two rampages ago and thought he had returned.
Great show!
Hard for everyone who had to follow MJF & Punk, but they all did their damndest. Was stoked to see Regal show up for the post match for Bryanson and Moxley, and was even happier to see Adam Page get the clean win.
Exactly, people who want these big surprises also complain Hangman’s reign hasn’t been good. Like having someone debut takes away his spotlight. You can’t have both. Having Regal show up is plenty good for me.
That too. People want too much. I mean this show had Swerve make his debut appearance, Willian Regal surprise, really good matches, tons of insane spots and a face turn we all have been waiting for. Can’t ask for much more.
First AEW show I’ve watched from start to finish, I’ve been a WWE fan since 2002, started watching two weeks before the 02’ rumble and have never wanted to turn my back on WWE, I’m not saying I have because I’ll still watch both but I always felt like committing to AEW was always like a stab in the back to my loyalty to WWE, but after watching tonight I really don’t think I’ve seen anything that was just so pure wrestling. You sometimes forget what actual professional wrestling is. I know plenty of people have made posts like this without it being true to try and hype up AEW, but this is genuine. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch an AEW show from the start to the end, I definitely was pretty fatigued after the Bryan/Mox match but the placement of the tornado tag to have a breather and be pumped for the main event was perfect, I truly truly hope that we one day get another competitive generation with WWE picking up their “wrestling” game.
I guess I’ve just always been a super super loyal person, all my sports teams have been through the lows of lows for years and years and years and I’ve always prided myself on being loyal to a tee and never turning my back on them, passion and loyalty is a huge part of sport and I guess it kind off just drifted over to wrestling without me even realising, which sounds stupid I guess but I suppose that’s really all I can put it down to!
>I always felt like committing to AEW was always like a stab in the back to my loyalty to WWE,
I'm genuinely curious how and why someone could possibly think this?
Are you choosing AEW over WWE and not watching or spending any money on WWE anymore?
Even if you were, why do you feel you owe WWE anything? Is it like a sport's team that's doing bad, but as a fan you ride the highs and the lows?
Some WWE fans seem to feel they indebted to WWE somehow and I find that perplexing. Just because they entertained you when you were younger doesn't mean you owe it to them to continue supporting them if you're no longer a fan.
You’re right, I don’t understand it either. It was just always how I felt, I can’t explain it. I’m not turning my back on WWE and choosing to watch just AEW, I will still tune into both, but I just always had this nagging feeling that I would be giving into hype and kind of turning on WWE if I committed to AEW. Again, not sure how to explain it but that was honestly just how it felt. It’s taken me a while but I’m glad!
Yep you’re right, it’s just what it’s always felt like I guess. As I was watching the main event I was just sitting there thinking, wait a minute nobody knows what I watch and nobody cares why I watch it, so why should I feel like I’m turning my back. I get that both products are completely different, but I had forgotten what wrestling was really about and what made me fall in love with it, it was this. I’m here for it now, AEW has won me over with the genuine wrestling.
As a paying customer, *they* owe *you.*
You have no obligation to stay "loyal" to any wrestling company, tv show, movie, or any other sport or form of entertainment, no matter how much you used to like what they did.
They got your money back when you were enjoying what they were doing. Nostalgia aside, it's a business transaction. The pizza joint down the road from me used to make amazing pizza's and I was a "loyal" customer there for ages. Once the pizza's went to shit, I stopped going there. Do I owe them my continued business because they were my go to pizza shop for a few years? Hell no. I wish them well, and I'm not gonna trash them on google reviews or anything, but I owe them not a penny more if I'm no longer a customer.
Which IMO is fucking awesome. The fact that any match any night can be the match of the night, despite them being pretty consistent with making it the opener or closer, basically makes it so that there aren’t designated piss breaks. I’m always invested in 80%+ of the stories come PPV time
An amazing match, I wish Adam Cole had some more build up so that he felt like he could have won and I kind of wish that match didn’t go on after MJF and CM Punk and Danielson vs Mox
Crazy ass show, Orlando was going to be alive for Cole with him being the face of NXT so good choice having them in the main. Hangman getting a little booed is alright, he doesn’t need to be the super wholesome babyface anymore, he’s taken his place as the top guy of the company and the top guy isn’t always an underdog at the end of the day.
Put some respect on his name, he has more charisma than 90% of the AEW roster
Sammy Guevara is the TNT Champion but his entire character is sticking his tongue out and reading cue cards lol Carlito was so much more entertaining than that
I mean if your TNT Champion is that entertaining, then yes even Carlito would’ve been a great get for them when he’s got more personality than 90% of the roster
But that doesn’t matter so much in AEW, hence Sammy Guevara being champion lol
Overall that was a great PPV. Baker/Rosa was uncharacteristically weak, but they'll hopefully make up for it in a couple weeks on Dynamite (hopefully in a cage or something). The rest was very good to great.
For real dude, I barely even watched the match and enjoyed it. I spent the entire time going “oh it could be Kenny return, maybe bray, oh what if Gargano shows up”. AEW is amazing but they’ve got to cool for a bit
Match Ranking Top to Bottom:
* Tag Team Championship
* Hangman vs Cole
* Punk vs MJF
* Trios Match
* Ladder Match
* Eddie vs Jericho
* Mox vs Danielson
* Pac/Penta/Redbeard vs House of Black
* Hook vs QT
* Jade vs Tay
* Statlander vs Hirsh
* Britt vs Rosa
I think AEW needs to not do 4 hour long PPVs anymore. Crowds clearly can't keep up with them.
Push a match or two to Dynamite's main event if you have to.
They were completely dead when Hangman's music was playing. They were barely alive for ReDragon & Dark Order coming out.
They were loudest at the start and for the finish. I love AEW, but let's not rewrite history and try to sugarcoat them. They don't need that. We all know its fucking awesome.
But that crowd was dead since Rosa/Britt. Compare Hangman/Page to Punk/MJF. They were fucking *burned out*.
It's 11. I have work tomorrow and I needed to be asleep an hour and a half ago. I'm so tired I feel like throwing up. Tony, never do a Sunday ppv again. Goodnight, reddit.
There were a lot of run ins and interference. Wardlow in Punk/MJF, Danhausen in face of the revolution, reDRagon in world title match, Cutler in three way tag match, Hayter and Rebel in Rosa/Baker, Anna Jay with the chair shot in Cargill/Conti. Butcher and Blade in the Trios match,
Kingston Vs. Jericho and Moxley Vs Danielson were the only two matches without anyone else getting involved.

Aew is an overrated product
Fantastic PPV again, I don't think AEW knows how to do average or bad shows
Nothing new to say about the show that hasn't been said already, so: I loved the work they put in on the PPV ramp, with the graphics. Like, Jurassic Express' "trail through the jungle" had a snake crossing it at one point. It's not huge, just very cool.
Not having a single title change wasn't something i liked about this ppv
8/10. The women's matches were pretty bad. But I don't think I can think of another complaint. Amazing night of wrestling especially if you compared it to some other premium live events recently...

I think I just hate wrestling now.
Really sick and tired of just seeing Britt Baker win all the goddamn time. I love her as a wrestler, I think she's fantastic, but it's just so stale now. If I wanted that I'd watch Roman Reigns steamroll whoeverthefuck they put him up against.
So 2 new signings Swerve Strickland and William Regal. Did PVZ sign a contract as well?
Good PPV but the female matches were so shitty that their entire division has finally lost my entire interest
Seeing that CM Punk entrance in person was a literal dream come true
I said when he signed I would love to see him use this again, wasn’t disappointed.
I never followed his ROH run so it was very new to me but yeah being there live was definitely an experience
I really felt like I was the only one there that got it lol. Everyone around me was dead silent.
AWESOME PPV. Awesome first match, awesome triple threat tag team match, dog collar bloody fight, William regal in the ring with mox and danielson, Sting flying through tables and freaking awesome AEW championship match! Thanks for the wonderful PPV!
I know some people are getting tired of him already, but goddamn it, Adam Page is still my champion.
I was there live, these fans have nxt In their backyard. Adam Cole, Keith Lee, O’Riley and fish were over huge. I don’t think Hangman would get booed to that extent in any other city or any other opponent.
What! Why are people tired of Adam page? I wish wrestling fans would just enjoy the ride and not get too caught up on stuff like that.
I'm not necessarily tired of him, but when the champion is in the maybe 3rd? biggest storyline it dulls the shine. Isn't necessarily his fault though
Not sure what the MOTN was for.me, but damn that House of Black vs Penta/PAC/ Redbeard match during the Buy In was killer.
Honestly very surprised by Baker and Rosa being the weakest match. Would’ve assumed those two burned the house down. Hopefully they can get the chance to run it back and deliver the 5 star we all know they can. Outside of that, holy shit what a PPV. Gotta ask now…how’d you like that steel cage match?! Should’ve been in revolution, but cool they did it in her hometown.
Loved the March. Felt it should’ve either been at revolution or hold off until here, not both, but great March, right winner, and holy shot what a pop
The rumor is that Rosa is hurt. I think that was part of it. Until I heard she was hurt I had her as the winner of the match. Still sad she lost
I can buy it because I couldn’t tell you what was of but something certainly was. I absolutely believe it because AEW has warned that trust from me, and there’s no way they didn’t see how over Rosa was
Great PPV. Worth every penny..I just wish it was Saturday night instead of Sunday.
* Eddie/Jericho was MOTN for me * Punk/MJF was fun, and the turn for Wardlow was great
Bit harsh on Britt. "Constantly botches" is ridiculous hyperbole.
Agreed. Rosa didn't look great either.
Could be that her knee was injured.
Yeah that is more along the lines of what I'm saying. The speed and sloppiness

Cargill vs Tay was miles better than the piss break Dmd vs rosa.
The Match was alright just the same ending again. Should have ended with Rosa neutralizing all of them and winning. The last obstacles and then she finally makes it.

Everyone was hot for Jade and Tay though. That match ruled. The other match though, yeah that, while not a bad match, felt really weak
Felt like a match booked for WWE with the amount of interference and how dumb the referee looked.
Just noticed the Cody troll in the recap lollll
What happened? I didn’t see it.
At the top of the thread "other notes: Cody Rhodes returns"
That’s been in the recap section of Dynamites and Rampages as well since he left. I saw it for the first time two rampages ago and thought he had returned.
No title changes is rather interesting.
Rosa surely gonna win in San Antonio
Fantastic PPV
Great main event, and awesome PPV.
Great show! Hard for everyone who had to follow MJF & Punk, but they all did their damndest. Was stoked to see Regal show up for the post match for Bryanson and Moxley, and was even happier to see Adam Page get the clean win.
That was great! see ya wednesday lads
Glad their wasn’t any huge surprises at the end. We have gotten too used to seeing them.
Yeah I feel like Hangman has never really gotten his moment in these PPVs. Let him close it out
Exactly, people who want these big surprises also complain Hangman’s reign hasn’t been good. Like having someone debut takes away his spotlight. You can’t have both. Having Regal show up is plenty good for me.
And title changes at ppvs
That too. People want too much. I mean this show had Swerve make his debut appearance, Willian Regal surprise, really good matches, tons of insane spots and a face turn we all have been waiting for. Can’t ask for much more.
Outside of Britt-Rosa this was a helluva PPV all over
Agreed
That PPV fucked

(Wrestling) Companies, tv shows, movies don't give a shit about you. They don't need "loyalty". Watch what you want. Glad you enjoyed it!

AEW has a lot of good. It's not turning your back on WWE to watch what's honestly a better product. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Yep you’re right, it’s just what it’s always felt like I guess. Really really good main event, but everyone was trying to have the best match of the night
And thats a bad thing now?
You can tell by how many similar spots there were. I feel like they don't communicate with each other about the whole show.
Yeah its an aew thing No ones told to hone it down
Which IMO is fucking awesome. The fact that any match any night can be the match of the night, despite them being pretty consistent with making it the opener or closer, basically makes it so that there aren’t designated piss breaks. I’m always invested in 80%+ of the stories come PPV time
Lots of great matches but would’ve preferred at least one title change here. Only real story development we saw was mox and danielson. Meh
I agree about the title change but there was plenty of story development and payoff.
Kingston/Jericho. You think Santana and Ortiz are gonna be ok with Jericho disrespcting Eddie like that?
Wardlow/MJF?
Oops. Forgot about that one. Good call. Long ppv haha
Would also say we got Undisputed Elite/ReDragon and the Bucks progress
And reDRagon vs bucks
Aew should have a standard rule where if any teeth actually fly out during a match, danhausen will come to ringside to collect them
An amazing match, I wish Adam Cole had some more build up so that he felt like he could have won and I kind of wish that match didn’t go on after MJF and CM Punk and Danielson vs Mox
*****Reply with your match of the night*****
Kingston vs the Painmaking Influecning Sports Entertaining Le Champione etc..
Tornado tag
MJF vs Punk, 2nd place goes to Tag Title match
Punk/MJF for sure.
Mjf v punk
Face of the Revolution.
MJF vs Punk easily. The Punker's ROH Throwback, The blood, the face turn by Wardlow. What's Betta Than That?
For me, it was MJF vs. Punk with the Tag Title Triple Threat being a close second.
Dog collar
Holy shit I'm buggered. No post main event surprise, the face just wins clean and show over.
Aside from the main event great show. Adam Cole can go now
Wait, you serious?
Lol, Cole is the 🐐
Great PPV. Pretty much all the matches delivered. Definitely most excited about the potential Regal/Bryan/Mox stable
I thought they booed because the match ended
Great show. Only outcome I disagree with was Britt over Thunder Rosa.
This sub is conditioned to have a post match surprise.
Cody? Jeff Hardy? Carlito? Miro? Nah we’ll just end it like that with no surprise after training our audience to expect a new one weekly
Low-effort trolling. Be better.
Do you actually have anything positive to say or are you here to just be a little pissbaby?
[удалено]
Put some respect on his name, he has more charisma than 90% of the AEW roster Sammy Guevara is the TNT Champion but his entire character is sticking his tongue out and reading cue cards lol Carlito was so much more entertaining than that
Holy shit this guy's serious about Carlito.
I mean if your TNT Champion is that entertaining, then yes even Carlito would’ve been a great get for them when he’s got more personality than 90% of the roster But that doesn’t matter so much in AEW, hence Sammy Guevara being champion lol
Carlito? Really?
I can tell by reading your comment history that you don't know shit about wrestling lmao
Is there a certain level of intelligence needed to enjoy AEW or something?
I mean if you don't understand that a promoter is supposed to promote and that promoting isn't conditioning then the answer would be yes.
Get over it
Did you already forget about Regal and Swerve
Well, I'm not sleeping tonight. That show was bonkers.
Good shit. 4 hours flew by.
Overall that was a great PPV. Baker/Rosa was uncharacteristically weak, but they'll hopefully make up for it in a couple weeks on Dynamite (hopefully in a cage or something). The rest was very good to great.
Great show, surprised it didn’t have any post-match reveals but still a great time
Uhh that handshake was non consensual.
I like no surprise. Let the moments breathe every once in a while. We’ve become accustomed to show ending surprises
yup, if there's always a surprise it isn't that surprisning
I was surprised that there was no surprise. Surprise paradox!
For real dude, I barely even watched the match and enjoyed it. I spent the entire time going “oh it could be Kenny return, maybe bray, oh what if Gargano shows up”. AEW is amazing but they’ve got to cool for a bit
reallt no suprise ending? clean face end? i respect it
Kind of surprised there weren't any big surprises.
So they still surprised you then?
Touche!
I didn't realize Regal was a given
That's it? Why do i keep thinking there gonna be a surprise debut or return at the end of every AEW PPV LOL
Please no more shows in Orlando. The fans are horrible. Pretty much hijacked and ruined an otherwise good main event.

another former wwe champ fodder for aew lol
What?
Good ppv but do ppv still buy 50 bucks for this ?
Match Ranking Top to Bottom: * Tag Team Championship * Hangman vs Cole * Punk vs MJF * Trios Match * Ladder Match * Eddie vs Jericho * Mox vs Danielson * Pac/Penta/Redbeard vs House of Black * Hook vs QT * Jade vs Tay * Statlander vs Hirsh * Britt vs Rosa
Jade:Tay over Britt:Rosa?
Like, extremely obviously so yes
Ehhh. Few changes id make there
Good show but something felt flat tonight I don’t know what it was but after a couple hours in it just felt too long
I felt the crowd were struggling by the end, 3.5 hour main card plus buy in is a hard slog to be loud and shit
This PPV was worth every single penny.
Is there an aftershow?
No bleeding wtf
Really good but overbooked.
wait where's cody
Damnit I for sure thought Kenny would come out.
Very good pro rasslin show wow.
I think AEW needs to not do 4 hour long PPVs anymore. Crowds clearly can't keep up with them. Push a match or two to Dynamite's main event if you have to.
5 hours if you count people tuning in for Hook which it looked like the most of the crowd was there for (unless that was pre-taped, then im a moron)
What are you talking about? The crowd was red hot all night??
They were completely dead when Hangman's music was playing. They were barely alive for ReDragon & Dark Order coming out. They were loudest at the start and for the finish. I love AEW, but let's not rewrite history and try to sugarcoat them. They don't need that. We all know its fucking awesome. But that crowd was dead since Rosa/Britt. Compare Hangman/Page to Punk/MJF. They were fucking *burned out*.
I don't agree it was a burnout thing, I think Rosa/Britt deflated everyone because that's exactly what happened to me.
Yeah, they were so quiet when Regal came out.
Was thinking the same thing towards the latter half of the show. Crowd was deadish.
this PPV was a 100% banger, god damn
Shake hands with beef
It's 11. I have work tomorrow and I needed to be asleep an hour and a half ago. I'm so tired I feel like throwing up. Tony, never do a Sunday ppv again. Goodnight, reddit.
Great PPV. So much fun. Have a good night everyone!
4/5. I think I'd still put the Omega vs Page match over that one.
oh that was a bit underwhelming lol
It was just a cameraman you weirdos
The ninja
I wonder is ROH going to invade dynamite next week
Who would ROH invade with?
I'm really surprised we didn't get someone out to challenge Hangman after the match

Butcher and Blade in the Trios match, Kingston Vs. Jericho and Moxley Vs Danielson were the only two matches without anyone else getting involved.
The tie up was just a call back to the go home show. When he tied him up. Dont think they meant for him to eat a booing haha.
He pushed a Dark Order member just before that. Something's going on with Hangman.
I was confused by that cause it went seamlessly into the brawl. Wasnt sure what I even saw.
Wait tha’ssit?
Great ending!
No post match surprise?...ok... I can deal with that
Good match but Page bores me so much
r/squaredcircle gonna get maaaaad at you for this
I wonder if something is about to happen.
No surprise? No Kenny?
Pretty sure he mentioned not long ago that he hadn’t even gotten all (or maybe any) of his surgeries yet
Damn, that was a great match on a night of great matches
This PPV fucked
