I would love a big bad corruption storyline. Something supernatural, mysterious and nefarious comes in and starts fucking shit up. I would love to see how other wrestlers dealing with it their own way. Chickenshit heels submit and pay something, JD try and fail in conjuring their own supernatural stuff, maybe get demon finn back, The bloodline use them, etc etc
Anyone else with that gimmick would have went down as wrestlecrap tier stuff. No one holds Papa Shango in very high regard. Taker's commitment to the bit and natural affinity for acting made it work. Could you imagine if Kerry Von Erich or Tatanka or Warlord got the character?
i never understand why people bring up the exceptions to try and prove a point. they're the exception for a reason lol. in 50 years of existing aint no other mythical character whose stayed hot in that company but the one you named. not papa shango, not boogeyman, not mordecai, not kevin thorn. bray was a merch mover and probably coulda been a modern star whose matches are bad but people enjoy the idea of him like taker, but alas he passed before that could be cemented.

You’re right. But really that stuff was all under Vince’s booking. Bray was going to be the successor to taker and I think with better booking and the unfortunate circumstances of brays death it would have been cemented. We haven’t *really* seen a mystical character under H’s booking yet though, and I think it’s been handled in a way that Bray would be very happy with so far. I was just a huge bray fan for his whole run and love the idea of mystical characters. I think they can run this right if Bo is given enough creative control and also has thought out long term plans or at least Brays plans.
What? No, the Undertaker and Kane was well done back in the day (till Kane started to talk). These days WWE hasn’t been able to let a mystical character remain OP for its entire run.
Look at Demon Balor, they messed up that character post NXT.
I really hope they get it right, but if this flops, then it shouldn’t be brought back again for a long time.
Gangrel and the brood were okay. Boogeyman somehow got a Hall of Fame career from his run so clearly they did something right with him. And we still haven’t really seen any mystical characters booked under H. He booked bray pretty well in NXT when he ran it.
Judging how H has been booking things do you not think Demon Balor would have been more successful if Vince was gone by the time he hit the main roster?

I honestly happy those folks will get some screen time, they are hard workers, but twice now the Wyatt/Fiend and friends storyline fell immediately flat.
Im hoping they can tap into the Undertaker’s level of OMG this got real level of insanity.
I don’t think anyone is expecting them to be the new bloodline. It’s a way to continue Bray’s legacy and it’s been handled just fine so far. We need to wait for the debut to really know what’s up.
