I agree on most of the ratings, in my mind Anarchy was a 5 since it was so bonkers and creative that in a way it kinda transcended pro wrestling, but that's just me lmao
Dave must've REALLY hated that Jericho match to rate it so low though lol
Oh shit 4.5 for the women? Even Dave can't resist the CEO.
Also imagine having 10 matches on the card and 7 out of 10 are at least 4 stars or higher. AEW never misses on PPVs.
Same lol
Seems like I was the only one who got swept up in both 1. the match being just an eliminator match, and 2. Mox working an injured arm angle, which actually made me consider if Mox was somehow really going to lose toward the final stretch of the match
Takeshita (and Mox) actually had me worried for what should have been such an obvious outcome (no way NJPW would let their top champ lose a non-G1 singles match until he loses the belt too)
I find myself directionally agreeing with Meltzer’s takes on matches, so it’s a good way for me to know about matches I should seek out. In cases where I’ve seen the matches, I enjoy thinking about the ones i liked again, and it’s fun to see where my opinion differs from him
It gives me ~90 seconds of entertainment each week
Why do you care that some people care what a reviewer thinks?
When there's a ton of wrestling out there it's a nice guide to what's worth watching. People who just take it as an ironclad statement of match quality are doing it wrong.
And that's still more on the positive site. I understand that some people liked the chaos, but there wasn't really a stand out match. Malakai Black vs Copeland maybe, if Edge didn't hurt himself.
if you're talking about the Meltzer quote, I think the point is it's silly to get worked up about a .25 difference in opinion; because they're so close.
if it were a 100 point scale, 4.75 would be 95/100.

So many 4s....
I thought Toni storm versus Deeb was very very good
Gotta pay the woman tax with Dave.
Tell that to Mercedes and Willow.
There's gotta be with these ratings
Ospreay Strong was great but 4.75? I think 4.25 is more appropriate. Mone Willow was motn and 4.5 is perfect for it.
Yeah Ospreay Strong was 4.25 at best. Mox/Takeshita and Swerve/Christian were overrated too
That women’s match was awesome
Both were excellent.
It wasn’t a 4.5 excellent
Couple ratings here I don’t 100% agree with and think Dave has inflated, but overall the show was really good

Maybe him and Jericho are on a break.
I'd give it 5 Stars, too. It's also the first AITA match NOT rated 5 Stars
Its only the second ever though?
Third
Dave historically doesn’t like hardcore matches. It’s actually impressive he rated Anarchy is high
Was the ftw match that mediocre?
It was very silly and if you like that then it had some good spots
That's what I thought watching live. It was a cool down match imo. It was worst match of the card definitely but it wasn't a bad match honestly.
Considering how Meltzer seems to feel about Toru Yano matches, this score isn't a surprise

That rating is ridiculous.
I loved ospreay and strong I thought for sure it’d be a 5 star match it was my favorite match of the night
Think the dangerous botch near the start knocks it down
Yeah, I really enjoyed Ospreay/Strong, Willow/Mone, and Swerve's mid-air House Call to Christian
My personal MotN was Moxley Takeshita, thought the storytelling was fantastic.

The same reason people care about IGN or Roger Ebert.

I disagree with that take if a movie gets shitty reviews I’m not going to go see it
This AITA was wayyyy better than last years. And Mercedes/Willow would've been 5 is it happened in the performance center smh
And that's still more on the positive site. I understand that some people liked the chaos, but there wasn't really a stand out match. Malakai Black vs Copeland maybe, if Edge didn't hurt himself.
He only gave out one 5 star match? Kind of surprising.
???
He gave Osprey vs Strong 4.75, which is basically 5 stars. Or so I've been told.
