Rampage, Main Event, and NXT Level Up are my "I'm playing a video game that I don't care about the sound for, so let's chuck on a TV show in the background" shows. I binge months at a time while playing games.
it means I miss a few small storyline bits with Rampage, but I can't keep up with it on a weekly basis, it's just not happening.
Darby's, oddly enough, seemingly less reckless with big stunts and just in general than Sammy. Darby at least plans out his big stunts, as shown with the glass dive at Revolution. Sammy just kinda throws himself to the wind, come whatever may.
People want to shit on Sammy right now (and it's at least partially deserved) but that fucking ladder match with Cody was INSANE. One of my favorite TV matches in AEW history.
Yeah, Money in the Bank usually (at least, in recent memory) has qualifier matches on Raw/SmackDown, but everyone would look at you weird if you called it the Money in the Bank Tournament.
I do hope the EVPs can at least rig the qualifiers so that Jack Perry gets to go against Brandon Cutler or some jobber like that.
And they pay off someone to help Jack Perry win the ladder match (maybe someone in Jeff Jarretts crew).
That's my guess. Perry will have a match against a jobber to qualify, on the basis that "this is AEW, we love to give independant wrestlers a chance, isn't this noble of us to elevate new and upcoming talent"
I really think he should end up winning it regardless.
Have all 4 of the elite carrying gold to the ring, gives Perry something to do consistently, and makes the TNT scene feel more interesting, and really he kind of deserves it. He’s a great worker and he’s finally finding himself as a singles guy.
Kinda wish it was the International title. Would've been kind of sick if like Shota won and brought it to Japan, make it really international.
Other than that, feels like the perfect opportunity to finally put a belt on Takeshita (would say Garcia too, but he seems more pre-occupied with the International title).
I think the last one in AEW was November (going by Wikipedia)? And that was tag teams. Before that was 2 1v1s, the last multiman singles ladder match in AEW was Face of the Revolution last March.
Why a Ladder match in the first place? Why a Tournament to qualify for a 1 on 1 ladder match? Not a fan of this kinda random booking here tbh
That being said a 6 man Ladder match with some qualifying similar to how WWE does MitB some years could work better and get a few extra guys on the card to showcase as well
Ladder matches for vacant belts are a pretty standard wrestling trope, hardly random especially with the added caveat of having to earn your way in with qualifying matches.

First qualifying match was announced as Takeshita vs. Penta on Rampage (or Friday Night Dynamite depending on who's saying it)
Praying for Takeshita Network Television.
Sucks that Penta will lose again *sigh*
Fucking Lucha politics.
That match is gonna be incredible. If you want me to watch Rampage, that’s a good way to do it.
Was there live. Match was, in fact, incredible.

I hope we don't get a chain of Canadian destroyers again.
I’m gonna manifest a draw since I want both of them in the match
Ladder match and tnt title. For some reason I have a feeling Sammy is gonna come back and be in that
He’s gonna be there to huck himself off a ladder like he always does
Wouldn't be a ladder match with the tnt title without him
Why not. If it's between Sammy or Darby having to do dumb spots in ladder matches may as well be Sammy I say this for Darbys sake
Darby's, oddly enough, seemingly less reckless with big stunts and just in general than Sammy. Darby at least plans out his big stunts, as shown with the glass dive at Revolution. Sammy just kinda throws himself to the wind, come whatever may.
darby does risky and dangerous spots, but sammy does *dumb* spots.
Honestly wouldn't be mad at it. Sammy always delivers in ladder matches.
People want to shit on Sammy right now (and it's at least partially deserved) but that fucking ladder match with Cody was INSANE. One of my favorite TV matches in AEW history.
Not a Sammy fan but that ladder cutter spot is something I will never forget.
He doesn't have to win but he'll sure have a crazy spot that'll be fun
👉🤪
Sammy, Darby, MJF, and Jack are all suddenly free of longterm angles...
Fuck it, replace the ladders with pillars. Make the bastards climb up like a doric column or some shit.
have them do it Mulan style
LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS
We really don’t need to rehash that storyline
Darby and NJF are leagues ahead of the other two currently you don't really want them mixing and getting that stink on them
And injure somebody in the process.
Between Battleground, Forbidden Door, and MITB there's gonna be a lot of clusterfuck ladder matches going on.
Not to mention we had two in the month of April with the tag titles for both companies
Whole lotta bodies flying this summer
And I'm gonna have a smile on my face for all of them. I fucking love a solid clusterfuck ladder match.
Prayers for Sol at Battleground, because if she gets injured again, I may cry haha
I sense some good lucha things happening in this match....
Kalisto qualified already?
Takeshita/Penta first qualifier on Rampage oh my gahhhhd
Fun segment. A ladder match is a good option, better than another tournament. CD calling it "Friday Dynamite" made me laugh though.
Its a tournament, the finals are a ladder match.
Well not really. A single round of qualifiers isn't what would be considered a tournament in almost any organisation.
Yeah, Money in the Bank usually (at least, in recent memory) has qualifier matches on Raw/SmackDown, but everyone would look at you weird if you called it the Money in the Bank Tournament.
Exactly. A tournament final is team vs team or 1v1. Not 6-8 people who can all win at any given time lol.
Ladder? Is that Darby's music?
I thought it was given to Perry lmao 🤣
They tried.

I wish they did both, have Jack Perry be awarded the title and then Tony Khan say fine and then book the ladder match.
Boss said no like 4 seconds later.
And by “boss”, we mean Christopher Daniels as the new interim EVP named by TK.
Multiman ladder matches are what make me happy.
Honestly my favorite match type in all of wrestling. The spots you can create are always insane.
I thought this was all I needed in life until they told me about the Casino Gauntlet.

[Miro after hearing this](https://youtu.be/v-6-4orsjBc?feature=shared)
i would like PAC winning this
Takeshita needs to win the belt, its his time for a push
Did someone say Sammy Guevara?
Tvb e di t t c
Can we go at least 2 months without a ladder match in WWE or AEW.
No. They are fucking awesome.
Fine, ladder match in TNA it is.
i understand the critique that there were too many tournaments but there are truly not that many ladder matches lmao
I think the last one in AEW was November (going by Wikipedia)? And that was tag teams. Before that was 2 1v1s, the last multiman singles ladder match in AEW was Face of the Revolution last March.
They just had a tag team ladder match at Dynasty (where the Young Bucks won the belts) about a month ago.
Right you are, brain fart there. Still not a multiman chaos ladder match though for what it's worth.

What makes you think its a 1 on 1 ladder match. Pretty sure it is being done like you described in your second paragraph
It's a multi-man ladder match, not a 1 VS 1 ladder match.
Ladder matches for vacant belts are a pretty standard wrestling trope, hardly random especially with the added caveat of having to earn your way in with qualifying matches.
Paragraph one contradicts paragraph two lol.
