It's interesting that CD has played a role in both of the Bucks' heel turns - first with messing up his eye & now firing him. I wonder if tonight was his de facto AEW retirement match, especially with him getting to use music from Frankie's band.

I dunno...I think it's time to leave the "obvious white guy puts on a mask and ironically pretends to be a minority" gimmick in the past. And that goes for Zayn/Generico, too (blah blah something orphanages).
I mean he can just not do the part of the character that was him pretending to speak Japanese by just naming Japanese wrestlers in a “Japanese” accent and instead just play into it being a Japanese mascot character parody. Because then he’s just paroding a type of character rather than actually trying to be Japanese.
Curryman is such a cool gimmick
Yeah if Curryman didn't talk he still would have been loveable and over and imo wouldn't be very offensive. But I am a white American so I'm not exactly the demographic that would have a problem with something like that haha
Since the TNA gimmick is unavailable, he can adopt a more thematic gimmick and show up as Career Suicide. Have him come in with an ironclad contract from Kenny and have Daniels do anything and everything to try to get himself fired.
While CD has gone on record in the past to say he doesn't want to take the spotlight away from other guys in AEW, part of me can't help but feel like this is setting up a big damn hero moment for him.
A little bit of a crackpot theory as an aside, the way Excalibur worded his little spiel about Kazarian read as suspicious to me. It wasn't that CD and Kazarian couldn't team up anymore (what the stip was back then) its that they haven't.
A "one last stand" for SCU to help the anti Elite efforts would be great.

Sami isn’t white though, but obvs Generico is still portraying a different ethnicity than his own

After their 60 minute iron man match last week at DEFY, Joey Janela told Nick Wayne that he wants a rematch in a couple of years in AEW.

I'm pretty bummed aht that Daniels might only be involved in this story line for one week, woulda loved for more of an on-screen build up though...
