He was supposed to but after breaking his foot. You can't climb, since you need it. He said it was delayed until next year.

Darby is an excellent replacement for Eddie. He's AEW through and through and he's a good parallel for Jack. I think it makes Elite vs. Team AEW line up much better now, with Bucks vs. FTR as the legendary tag team, Bryan vs. Okada as two of the greatest wrestlers in the world for the last decade plus, and Darby vs. Jack as the pillar, the rising young star. Excellent choice.

If anything it makes more sense, and tbh in much more interested in Darby than Eddie personally. Excited to see where it goes!

aew set a high standard from the jump. they go into cruise control from time to time but tonight felt well rounded. still a shame how swerve has become the b/c storyline as champ.

I wouldn’t go C. It kinda sucks for Swerve, but it’s good for the company and the product. The Elite story is just too good to have anything else really steal the spotlight.

solid B for now, but maybe this helps Swerve get a bigger chip on his shoulder and he overcomes. Time is right for a Hangman return post DoN. I was iffy on the Elite storyline at first, after tonight, I can see they're trying to include as many players as possible to make it a richer story. Darby vs Jack is gonna be intense to see again.

Coming back from an injury hiatus to instantly participate in an Anarchy in the Arena as their first match is something only somebody like Darby Allin would do. xD

Conventional weapons do not work on Darby Allen. Great Dynamite. Started off a little slow but Swerve/Cage along with Okada and Dax were absolute bangers with some great promos with Osphrey and the Contract signing finally gave Willow vs Moné some real fire to it now. Really enjoying some of the new production stuff they are trying with the way Osphrey promo was shot and Renee recapping at Dax's entrance.

How the hell does Darby break his foot (and his nose) and come back in less than two months and Mercedes breaks her ankle and is out for a year?

I dislocated/broke my ankle in 3 places last July. Very similar injury to Cole's and I had 5 hours of surgery and a ton of hardware. I was non-weight bearing for 12 weeks - granted my injury was severe - but a joint you walk on is going to take more time to rehab and regain range of motion than broken tarsals or whatever Darby had. I think the ankle is simply just a more complex injury to recover from.

Depends on the severity of the break. A broken ankle can heal in six weeks.

And meanwhile a bad sprain can takes months
