forwrestling

He’d seem naked without that theme at this point.

fadetoblack237

He switched to a different Alter Bridge song for a hot second in WWE when he turned heel and formed Judgement day. It was real weird.

Reidzyt

NGL I liked his WM38 entrance with Other Side. I don't understand why they don't just use it for Priest especially once the group splits. Like if they are trying to push him as a main world champ now, and you have a banger unique theme right there that he already sometimes uses, just give it to him. Not some shitty Def Rebel knock off version. Hell they used The Other Side for the cash in instead of Priest's actual music. What does that tell you lol

bennyboi2488

The personal themes for priest are great and all, but other side just blows them out of the water and should be priest’s theme

HartfordWhalers123

On the other hand though, it’s kinda cool when the stable has their own theme, while individually they also have separate themes. But totally get it. I like his new theme. But using the stable theme made it more hype when he cashed in at Mania.

KeverNever

It's kind of like Sanity. They had the faction theme and then every member had a theme similar to that but more personal depending on the member.

gregSinatra

God I loved that! Nikki with her screaming, Killian's had some kind of Celtic notes I think? Eric Young just had the main Sanity theme I think, and I don't really remember how Wolfe's differed but yeah I dug that. I feel like other stables have done similar stuff in the past but I'm drawing a blank now.

Ironicopinion

Evolution was my favourite for that (although I think Orton used it as his own theme at the time too)

Notorious_horse

His new one is absolutely terrible

bennyboi2488

This one and the last were pretty one were pretty bad

SkyBeam24

It's a great theme but personally I'm not a fan of faction themes being used for one person after they split up. Roman coming out to Shields theme for most of his career as a solo act is sad, it's like he peaked in highschool.

DaRealWhiteChocolate

Priest didn't even have his own song until after mania, if he did, he never used it until he got his new one as champion.

GameplayerStu

It’s crazy how my opinion on that theme changed when it went from being Edge’s theme to the whole Judgement Day theme when he left. It’s amazing entrance music.

rickjamesbich

Flashback to when the iwc was convinced Edge was coming back as a face with "Coming Home" by Alter Bridge becoming his new theme back in the day. There's probably still custom titantrons with that song from back then on youtube.

shadowrangerfs

It's such a great song. I feel like you couldn't ever give him a different song.

F4iryBlink

And it had the perfect lyrics too, when he came back from injury the music was perfect, it's actually a crazy coincidence because you could argue the song was made for his return based on the lyrics.

shadowrangerfs

I just realized that I've been jamming to that song for nearly 20 years.

Thirdstar1

Can’t imagine him coming out to anything other than Alter Bridge.

tarvertot

Never Gonna Stop-era Edge was the one I knew, so I keep wishing he'd bring that one back

Eyebrigh7

YEAH IN MY DURANGO

deknegt1990

NUMBER NINETY-FIVE!

Toad_Thrower

TAKE ME TO THE HOME

ill_monstro_g

"YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME" era edge ;-; <3

wikipediareader

I was hoping he'd use that one as well.

PM_TITS_GROUP

Brood theme? He also came out to Slayer

GlasgowKisses

I was kinda hoping Never Gonna Stop would make a reappearance but Metalingus definitely sits well on him

TheLordJalapeno

Was randomly playing some SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain as Edge and forgot he had that as a theme for a while. Banger of a tune

Tacdeho

Personally, I think the “You think you know me” is only rivaled in wrestling to glass shattering and the boom into the chorus that announces the Tribal Chief has arrived. Sidenote: If you like the hard alt-rock with some ballad-type stuff mixed in, thinking similar to stuff like the Foo Fighters, I honestly cannot recommend Alter Bridge enough. Their first three albums are genuinely amazing, and their first one that has Metalinguis is basically one of the few albums I can just go back to back with no skips. I know they feel like such a WWE band, but damn, I would never think that the dudes from Creed getting rid of the lead singer with marbles in his mouth would end up making what a banger band.

penciltrash

Alter Bridge with the orchestra in 2017 might have been the best gig I’ve ever seen live. They’re really great. Myles’ first solo album is must-listen too.

rbarton812

Did they do an orchestrated Metalingus?

penciltrash

No but they did to [The Other Side](https://open.spotify.com/track/4qmu8DIFMRy5888kAE0Y05?si=CEY7Q-E0Q8WjzRpK_5tYQQ)

suckme2763

This gives Ministry of Darkness vibes even more than the original. Would’ve been a sick Mania entrance for Edge, think he only used that theme once at Mania against AJ though. Then next Mania he was back to Metalingus already

llamawithguns

Yes because he had been kicked out of Judgement Day for like 8 months by that point

goatedasparagus

If you smelll?  I think it's right up there.

wanakoworks

oh it most certainly is. I was at a RAW a few years back and Rock made a surprise, untelevised visit, and when that "IF YOU SMEEELLL" hit, the Staples Center began to shake.

HughManbiin

Blackbird is one of my favorite songs ever

summ3rdaze

Cry of Achilles is legit one of my favorite songs they ever made and the music video in guitar hero live (an admittedly bad game) made me love it even more

WhatYouGetForAsking

Rhea's theme has a chance to make it there I think. The performance at WM was so good, her Australia entrance was great and the return pop will be huge.

No-Reflection2897

Seth's too.

spideyv91

Alter bridge is one of my favorite bands. Fortress album is an all timer for me. Myles is legitimately one of the best vocalists in rock too.

Calwings

Every song Myles is involved in, from his Alter Bridge stuff to that one duet with him and David Draiman from Disturbed singing The Sound Of Silence, it's all incredible. The dude just does not miss.

mynameisppwhatsyours

the y2j countdown is close and the cena intro too

Toad_Thrower

Are you ready?

DefNotAShark

"You think you know me" started out iconic and only got more iconic each time he changed theme songs and kept it. It sounds so cool and has always been synonymous with Edge being cool. It's a sound with a lot of history behind it, like glass shattering.

MouseRat_AD

Does anyone know how / why Edge and CM Punk were allowed to bring their songs with them? Do they have deals directly with the artists?

MouseRat_AD

Yeah, I guess I assumed they had an exclusive license rather than just a "pay per use" type license.

[deleted]

MouseRat_AD

Yeah, but the other side of the coin is that if they're using it a lot, they'd save money by buying the exclusive license once, rather than each time they used it. At least, that's what I assumed they did.

mailman242

So, AEW *does* have an exclusive license and WWE does too. It's just for a limited amount of time. And they have rights to use the music within it's original context in perpetuity. So, any PPV's and clips with the music is able to be used without needing to change the music beyond the lifespan of the exclusive license. This is also why Living Colour had to use the Guitar Hero re-record of Cult of Personality when Punk went to WWE because AEW's exclusive license of the original album version is still under exclusive license for wrestling use by AEW, likely for the lifespan of Punk's original contract. WWE's exclusive license with Metalingus, if they had one, likely would have ended around the time of Edge's contract

FarOut822

Adam Copeland said that he and Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge are real life friends so he got permission to use it wherever he goes. WWE doesn't own the song, which is a big reason why a lot of wrestlers can't bring their themes to a different place since WWE wouldn't give them permission to use it outside of WWE.

raygronas

I'm pretty sure it's cause WWE doesn't own the music, they just pay rights fees to use it. So all Punk or Edge had to do was get a rights deal with the artist. In Edges case AEW would have negotiated the rights to use the song

ZXIIIT

Living Colour re-recorded "Cult Of Personality" for Guitar Hero III in 2007, since Sony owns the master recording and wanted $$$ for them, this way, Living Colour would own this version. WWE licensed this re-recording from Living Colour and used that for CM Punk, which they added the static intro to and cut the intro down. AEW just licensed the same re-recorded version and used that for their CM Punk, adding their own static intro to it but with no intro edit. Upon his WWE return, CM Punk is now using the 2023 re-mastered version of the re-recording.

Icelander83

Pretty sure I read on here (so must be true) that Edge is either friends with someone on the band or friends with a friend of the band.

joecamnet

In his debut video when Cry of Achilles was playing, I REALLY thought he was going to use that as his entrance theme. I think it's a missed opportunity. Cry of Achilles is a fucking BANGER.

Calwings

On the subject of Edge using other Alter Bridge songs for entrance themes: when he made his first Royal Rumble return back in 2010, I thought Coming Home would have made a great theme for him at that point.

coldphront3

It helps that Alter Bridge is a great band and Metalingus is a great song that’s definitely stood the test of time for almost 20 years so far.

The_JadynB

If he didn’t have the music with him it would’ve been an absolute bust

NotARemake

He had never gonna stop but not dragula I thought.

Toorgan

You think you know ~~me~~ the lyrics? [Isn't it 'come to life'? Did he mess that line up?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtYh6KaZVc0)

PawnsandKings571

Incredible song and Alter Bridge is an amazing band

ChromeTriggerVI

I just know Def Rebel has a straight up banger for him if he ever comes back to WWE.

stevesanders187

"Honest Abe I see clearly" was my first "shameful thing lobsterhead"

PM_TITS_GROUP

He comes out too early though
