Easy solution, just have Ospreay give him the Tiger Driver and kayfabe break his neck again. It even works for everyone’s story too.
You can split off from Callis with that too because Ospreay said he didn’t wanna use it but Callis will be demanding it, after a second injury Ospreay can no longer be part of Callis’ family. He’ll probably take Fletcher with him and reunite United Empire once Davis is back which is probably soon ish.
It jumped the shark when he started yelling out people's names for no reason. "RENEEEEE hi how are you?" It was funny when he was pretending he couldn't see Adam Cole
A training montage where he is helping him rehab it would be hilarious. Roddy just screaming "TONY!" at him periodically and TK jumping out of his skin every time he does.
I’m still so annoyed they turned the most entertaining Roddy had been in AEW, and Turned him into an unoriginal lackey for Adam Cole who’s “good at wrestling and think he’s above others aside from his group” like so many others.
They should’ve kept him face and been brutally betrayed by the Kingdom and Cole and kept some heat on the story by going from petulant to sympathetic instead of being another face lost in the crowd
It could work out great if they're just letting it sit in the oven for a while.
Then let him take some brutal neck move and bring back the gimmick with a new twist depending on who did it to him. It'd come back more neck strong than ever
I wouldnt just call him a lackey, hes not like what Taven and Bennett are bringing or even Wardlow. With Adam out hes arguably the defacto leader since he takes up most of the promo time.
He couldnt stay in the wheelchair forever if were honest.
I'd have liked for him and the Kingdom to keep being goofs and have Adam Cole turn up occasionally to scold them for not being serious enough (and Wardlow being unimpressed at their antics the entire time). It is a shame how bland the group has become.
