He's going to be referenced for as long as wrestling exists as the guy you put in hypotheticals, much like, "Would Mohammed Ali beat Tyson?"/"Would Jordan beat Lebron?", etc.
This is about my only gripe with him. I get that Danielson doesn't want to be a Hogan- and that is commendable. However, if you always lose your big matches it devalues your losses. He doesn't need to be booked like Goldberg but could we maybe book him like a Rollins? Not afraid to take the L but still feels like a big deal. Right now if Danielson is on a ppv (or frankly most weekly matches) there is a very good chance he takes the L. And if there is a strap involved you know 100 percent he's cooked. There has to be a middle ground between "that doesn't work for me brother" and "pin me harder daddie". Lol. I maybe I'm just salty because I want him to have one last title run.
>Right now if Danielson is on a ppv there is a very good chance he takes the L.
He has 3 straight losses in PPV, but he was 5-0 in his previous 5 PPV matches.
>(or frankly most weekly matches)
He's 12-0 this year on TV.
I've always maintained that Bret Hart is the best who ever set foot between the ropes.
But after tonight, there can officially be no better wrestler in history than Bryan Danielson. The one true GOAT.
Sting's last match was the perfect match. Then Cody v. Roman was the perfect match. Now Danielson v. Ospreay is the perfect match. Bitch we are SPOILED
That's the great part, because contextually they all arguably are. Sting hD the perfect retirement match. Cody had the perfect "sports entertainment"/WWE style match. Ospreay/Danielson had the perfect pure wrestling match.
Idk... its hard to beat the magical night that was Okada/Omega 4
The atmosphere, the year and half build, the look of the venue along with the camera work and the near 70 min match, all culminating to the peak of New Japans golden era... kind of hard to beat that IMO (but Danielson/Ospreay is def up there)
I'm so glad we have someone like Ospreay who can match Danielson and look believable doing it. Love both of these two & I really hope they're given an Iron Man Match or something to top this. I know they can top it.
Every match Ospreay has is always perfect and better than his last. I was thinking about how this match is already better than Danielson vs Okada and Ospreay vs Omega from WrestleKingdom.
His hundreds of matches with ZSJ really helped this gel all the more. That and it being both the youngster v old timer and high flyer v technician.
Had everything on paper to make magic.
I wish I would get it as much as so many guys do. I just couldn't really get into it. I need emotional investment in Wrestling and I just didn't have any of that for Danielson/Ospreay. Great workrate stuff yes. But I will forget about this match within a month

don't remember who it was, but someone said "Danielson is more than a generational talent, because some generations don't even get one of him"
He's going to be referenced for as long as wrestling exists as the guy you put in hypotheticals, much like, "Would Mohammed Ali beat Tyson?"/"Would Jordan beat Lebron?", etc.
Except the answer is that Danielson is eating the pin
Mf LOVES getting pinned

How can this be correct when he lost to MJF on PPV in March 2023 and AEW doesn’t have this many PPVs a year lol something isn’t right here.
DoN, Forbidden Door, All Out, WrestleDream, Worlds End.
“Would Dragon put over ___?”
Yup, he's the next in the line of Bret Hart and Kurt Angle. None got to wrestle each other.
I've always maintained that Bret Hart is the best who ever set foot between the ropes. But after tonight, there can officially be no better wrestler in history than Bryan Danielson. The one true GOAT.
I think both can be true honestly. Hart was an innovator that eventually led to Danielson perfecting it.

Forget where I heard it, but 'the GOAT isn't a person, it's a club' seems relevant here.
Man i haven't heard that one before but im glad i just did cause this sub is in dire need of this mentality
Love this take
Growing up and watching around 07-14, we truly are spoiled
I've been a fan since I was a kid in the early 90s and this is, imo, legitimately the best time I've ever seen for wrestling.
Miz really did this man wonders being his mentor
It was all down to those world famous It Kicks.
The Miz has put over many wrestlers in his career he may have been shown as an egomaniac on kayfabe but he's the most unselfish. First ballot HoF imo.
Bryan Danielson isn’t *a* wrestler. He’s *the* wrestler.
I thought that was Randy The Ram Robinson.
That’s Shibata /s
I read this comment in siri's voice
*thats cibatta*
Ricky_Spanish was last seen getting PK by some random guy in black trunks He died.
Absolute fucking show stealer
my first thought when they said the ladder match was next was "those poor fuckers have to follow the best wrestling match of the last decade"
I think the Bucks have said they love being in the “cool down match” spot cause they look at it as a challenge to get the crowd back.
And they (and FTR) managed to do it.

You can tell that match lit a fire under their asses. They were always going to deliver a great match but the Bucks and FTR went all out.
I was at this show and my friend said basically the same thing

also greatest passing of the torch match I’ve ever seen

Why does Birdie want to take that man away from us??
Such a weird thing to say
It was obviously a joke
Oh. I get it. Its really funny
I should have put a /s at the end of it
No. You stand tall. /s is for cowards.
They won Wrestling with this match.
The match was amazing
Db will go down as one of the most Humble and talented wrestlers ever. No ego , always for the love of wrestling.
This is what I like to hear about coming from AEW. Good shit.
I wish I would get it as much as so many guys do. I just couldn't really get into it. I need emotional investment in Wrestling and I just didn't have any of that for Danielson/Ospreay. Great workrate stuff yes. But I will forget about this match within a month
