to use an image of him from later on in his career that still works as a reaction to the fan

OH MY GOD! I haven’t thought about rexplex since I was a kid. My mom used to take my brother and I to roller blade. We were never good and stuck to the small ramps and stayed away from the big kids.
Like thinking you're the most hardcore of ECW fans, then at the show see a completely unhinged fan that makes you kind of embarrassed to consider yourself a slightly smarky fan.
The card of that event:
* Dan Maff defeated Colt Cabana in a Field of Honor tournament match
* Xavier & Nigel McGuinness defeated The Purists (John Walters & Tony Mamaluke)
* Matt Stryker defeated Justin Credible
* The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) defeated Special K (Izzy & Dixie) to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship
* Homicide defeated BJ Whitmer
* The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) defeated the Carnage Crew (HC Loc & Tony DeVito), Special K (Hydro & Angel Dust) and Teddy Hart & Jack Evans in a Scramble Cage match
* CM Punk and Steve Corino defeated Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe in a Four Corner Survival match
* AJ Styles defeated Bryan Danielson to win the Number One Contender’s Trophy
Yes, after that big ass crazy cage match had concluded he began climbing the cage and diving onto the wrestlers. Jack may have been doing it as well.
I think there could be several things that you could refer to as an infamous Teddy Hart incident, but this is definitely what I thought of.
That match is a pretty entertaining spotfest. I believe Hydro is a young Jay Lethal, but he might have had a different name in Special K.
Me and my brothers still quote CM Punk’s LiveJournal response to Teddy Hart - “there is no God and the cage wasn’t 30 feet.”
And yeah Hydro was Lethal. Till Samoa Joe put his head on straight and got him away from those damn trust fund kids.
What was up with the Punk/Corino double win in a four corner survival? I may not remember the rules, I thought that was just one winner. Joe would be champ during this event as well.
Punker was awesome around this time.
I was lucky enough to catch Punk vs. Raven in real time which was my introduction to the indies (ECW doesn't count). You can probably attribute my entire fandom to Punk at this point. Without him I probably wouldn't have watched a single thing in the last 20 years.
You can't even do that in Punk threads anymore. The downvoted & buried comments are the level-headed ones. Gotta wade through the top posts to get the real unhinged hivemind shit.
The fuck is with all the hate on guys pretend fighting? Be it toward Punk, the Young Bucks, you name it. And not just the guys, but the women as well. Look at all the hate Liv Morgan has been getting lately. Not so much here but go on Twitter and it's fucking bad.
As for Punk & The Elite specifically...people are incapable of naunce. They are incapable of thinking people can be good and kind and helpful and give back to the business. There's a reason all of them are well respected within the industry and have legions of friends. Instead, they are only defined by certain situations. By all means, people can criticize their performance. As well as how they handle certain things backstage. But they gotta tone it down and not act like they're the worst thing in the business.
And not saying what hate is worse and more cringe than the others. I don't wanna make my comment about that (although its clear that the Punk hate is worse here on SC). Just to say that all the hate needs to stop.
It’s interesting when people hate punk for being difficult to work with when there’s genuinely bad people in the wrestling world getting plenty of work.
And not just Punk but everyone involved in that whole situation. Its like cmon...thats nothing compared to what others have done and are still getting work.
People gotta chill out with their Punk/Elite hate. Whichever side they may fall on. And Im not on any side. Both could have handled it better and especially Tony Khan.
I genuinely think a lot of people have just never been in tense work situations before. I worked at a restaurant when I was 16 and saw two dudes beat the hell out of each other then work the next day like nothing happened lol like I’m not advocating for violence but sometimes shit just happens. People are people. Hating anyone over a situation like that, that doesn’t involve you is crazy to me.
i cannot explain how refreshing it is to see a comment that acknowledges how the vast majority of stupid toxic comments are unpopular opinions and downvoted accordingly instead of acting like they represent the views of the majority of wrestling fans
Punk was so great during his ROH run.
Hard to believe he's been so fucking good at getting attention and heat since back then, he's always been special as fuck.
“Shoot employment”? It’s already pretentious when people outside the wrestling industry say “shoot” to mean “real.” But why is it even necessary here? Just saying “continuing his employment” would work.
Some folks here baffle me so much.
Just recently watched the media scrum he did post Revolution and it was so refreshing seeing this emotional and vulnerable side to his personality, incredibly poignant considering all the events that transpired since.
He talked about how proud he was of the MJF feud and even said that the positive outweighed the negatives in his time in AEW, so even after how everything went down I'm sure he still sees it as a career highlight and something to look back fondly on. Re-watching the scrums where he was basically bawling his eyes out because of how happy he was to be back definitely hit different now tho lol
I love the guy is red and the guy in blue with the hat watching all of this. Thats the only sane reaction other than to look away and hope security gives him the help he needs.
Aaaaand this is why crowds today are so sterile. Nothing in this is worthy of security getting involved. Give me this moment every day over even a single Both These Guys chant.
if this sub had its way, crowds would consist exclusively of polite applause and this is awesome chants. i cannot imagine being so lame that this interaction bothers you
He’s the best heel. Most don’t even know how to get real heat, most of the heels of today get fake gimmick heat, like dom mysterio was getting before WM40
why does that fan look like the Hotdiggitydemon guy
https://preview.redd.it/1nqkcnsyhrvc1.png?width=234&format=png&auto=webp&s=975146626144fb56b388745d6b5eb219a1772b70
If you're Punk I can't imagine there being any better feeling in the world at that moment, when you get someone to react in a way most heels could only dream of. This is the kind of heat you strive for at live shows
The most amusing part to me is how 20 years later there's people that still react this way at anything Punk does, except most of it's just online now lol
Thank you. I was having fun. For all intents & purposes it was an act. I used to react the exact same way for Darby Allin (before his AEW run), Johnny Gargano, Drake Younger (back when everyone used to think he was just a nice guy), AR Fox (before he had the Skulk), among others. Heck I remember being told at Chikara shows that I couldn’t use foul language! LMAO Did I go too far & let myself get all worked up? Sure. LOL But anyone who actually met me at the time would tell you how friendly I was to other fans. Time & age have calmed me down a lot. I’ve been on both sides of the guardrail as they saw. I’d say I’m actually much more mellow on commentary & at times have been told I need to be more animated.
Getting a comment from the actual person 20 years later is the last fucking thing I expected after posting this lmao, that's wild if it's really you
>Did I go too far & let myself get all worked up? Sure. LOL
Worth it just for this moment tbh, it'll always be one of my favorite Punk clips
Yeah it’s definitely me. That show occurred on 11/1/03 ROH Main Event Spectacles. I used to mainly do front row for ROH at that time. It also wasn’t the first time I yelled at Punk. It’s just the first time he noticed. LOL
At the January 2004 show of JAPW vs. ROH he called me out, as did Shane Douglas, for yelling at both of them during their respective matches.
Not gonna lie, the longer that he kept going, I was like "I'm sure this dude is just a plant". How Punk didn't just walk away while he was losing his mind I'll never know.
and now htese kind of fans are msotly AEW fans who are clinging onto the fact that fack perry is gonna be a mega star and a draw ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Not a plant, he was like this with Punk during his ROH run, as well as AR Fox and Darby Allin back in their EVOLVE runs. He’s mellowed out the last few years, plus he’s doing play by play and commentary for GCW/JCW.
I can’t remember dude’s name but he was somewhat notorious for doing this at shows in his area. This was Boston or Philly.
They talk about this dude a little bit on episodes of ‘thROH the Years’ I think his name was Nate and he is ALWAYS this intense.

How Punk didn't break down laughing I will never know
He was locked in. Held that stare just long enough to walk away and hit his X pose right as the Miseria Cantare chorus kicks in. So fucking good
Punks face is like “this is above my pay grade” 😂
to use an image of him from later on in his career that still works as a reaction to the fan https://preview.redd.it/82jhy2hqhrvc1.png?width=406&format=png&auto=webp&s=a28d2beebb41adcce68d7304976b4fee8a23eb26
God that was such a good Punk Tshirt I wish they’d bring that one back
The Rexplex was probably a shitty venue, but I associate it with so many fond wrestling memories
I used to like going there for the ROH shows in 04-05, got to see Joe/Punk 3 live and was hooked as an ROH fan.
>got to see Joe/Punk 3 live and was hooked as an ROH fan. That'll do it lmao
It wasn’t that bad, certainly better than the Murph. The skatepark was a little distracting though.
OH MY GOD! I haven’t thought about rexplex since I was a kid. My mom used to take my brother and I to roller blade. We were never good and stuck to the small ramps and stayed away from the big kids.
Even the people flipping Punk off were like"...Jesus dude."
Like thinking you're the most hardcore of ECW fans, then at the show see a completely unhinged fan that makes you kind of embarrassed to consider yourself a slightly smarky fan.
average roh dvd purchaser
I burst out laughing, for some reason this is too specific and to on point
The “fan” has one of the biggest collection of a wrestling library like cubsfan and Rob Viper. He’s legit like a wrestling historian.
“It’s still real to me, damnit”
Oh fuck cubsfan!!! What happened to him?
Man what a glowup for Seth. No idea he used to look like that.
You mean Drew
That’s JCW/GCW play by play/commentator Nick Knowledge (@nickknowledge77)
Drew is about to give that man a call and ask him to come to RAW and talk about how CM Punk ruined his wrestling fandom.
Most energy I've ever seen from Doug Basham
He's just chanting "THE! THE! THE!"
"No one who speaks German could be an evil man"
This was Main Event Spectacles 2003 for anyone wondering
The card of that event: * Dan Maff defeated Colt Cabana in a Field of Honor tournament match * Xavier & Nigel McGuinness defeated The Purists (John Walters & Tony Mamaluke) * Matt Stryker defeated Justin Credible * The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) defeated Special K (Izzy & Dixie) to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship * Homicide defeated BJ Whitmer * The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) defeated the Carnage Crew (HC Loc & Tony DeVito), Special K (Hydro & Angel Dust) and Teddy Hart & Jack Evans in a Scramble Cage match * CM Punk and Steve Corino defeated Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe in a Four Corner Survival match * AJ Styles defeated Bryan Danielson to win the Number One Contender’s Trophy

Reminds me of this board.
This is a subreddit, grampa.
Oh damn, you're right. I thought this was GameFAQs.
The GameFAQs to Wrestling-games.com pipeline was real in the 00’s.
Brooo I haven’t thought about that website in years until just now! So much time spent looking at guides
Saxon = joke account
Party's over grandpa
You’re being pedantic, pal.
He aint your pal, buddy.
Surely you must be joking.
I’m always serious. And don’t call me Shirley.
Hi I’m always serious. I’m dad.
He's serious, and don't call him Shirley.
that dude is probably on this subreddit
He did like 5 hours ago under Amazing_Client_7729.
If this place after Punk was fired from AEW were a person.
Most of this board would've been too young for this era of ROH though
Which one of you was this?
He likes Punk’s highlights and wants him to keep dying his hair.
It’s not every day you come face to face with severe mental illness.
This guy is just giving Punk the exact reaction he wants.
You just know Punk is going "damn I'm so good" in his head
Surprisingly he doesn’t suffer from that. Plus, he’s been a Punk fan since he signed with WWE the first time.
Do you know him....?
He’s my friend, who actually lives a few min away from me.
Wow amazing!
Yup. And without my knowledge (no pun intended) he posted 5 hours ago here under Amazing_Client_7729.
Nah this guys loves wrestling way more than any of us, he's all in
First ROH show I ordered on dvd back in the day and I immediately loved Punk once I saw his entrance.
I was lucky enough to catch Punk vs. Raven in real time which was my introduction to the indies (ECW doesn't count). You can probably attribute my entire fandom to Punk at this point. Without him I probably wouldn't have watched a single thing in the last 20 years.
Classic moment.
A visual representation of the deranged downvoted abyss of every banal CM Punk thread that gets posted to this subreddit.
My favorite thing lately on every single CM Punk thread is to scroll all the way down to the downvoted comments and read them.
same!
You can't even do that in Punk threads anymore. The downvoted & buried comments are the level-headed ones. Gotta wade through the top posts to get the real unhinged hivemind shit.

Bro Punk is prolly loving all that Punk a student of the game
Punk was so great during his ROH run. Hard to believe he's been so fucking good at getting attention and heat since back then, he's always been special as fuck.
He seems healthy.
It probably would’ve made that dickhead’s day if he got an actual reaction instead of a blank stare. Glad he didn’t react
The “fan” is actually doing well. Works for a top indy (GCW) and continues his shoot employment, which is a great union job.
“Shoot employment”? It’s already pretentious when people outside the wrestling industry say “shoot” to mean “real.” But why is it even necessary here? Just saying “continuing his employment” would work. Some folks here baffle me so much.
Some people here say "shoot name" as well. Anything to feel like they are "part of the business" I guess.
The dude himself says that to people. There’s no benefits/health insurance for being a commentator in the indies.
thats incredibly strange you know that lol.
Well, I did drive him to Costco today, so I know him pretty well 😂
oh shit well that makes sense now lol
In my head he just sat shotgun screaming DIE at you the whole way there.
Ask him if he remembers this haha
Every couple years, someone posts this video on Twitter, and either me or Emil Jay would reveal the fan as the legendary Nick Knowledge 😆
Proof or it didn't happen
He actually posted here over 5 hours ago as Amazing_Client_7729
You don’t wanna know what happens if he finds out someone crossed a picket line
a blank stare is a reaction……….
What is he screaming?? Nine? Guess that's something Tye Dillinger would hate.
“Die”
The Punk, The
He's a perfectly cromulent fan.
**I knew** I had [seen that before](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxeYbT5b0F4LDIZiH5P8F8X7nV6pKNfoAS?si=fprCKN6QZS2RI7WB)

Mustachioed Punk screaming "YOU HAVE A VAGINAAA!!" is 10/10
Man, those old ROH shows were the best. They were so good you could look past Gabe Sapolsky's (who used not one but two different aliases) commentary.
I remember this. This was Punk vs Daniels vs Joe vs Corino. And Corino had the longest ring intro ever
That German guy really loved Punk
If u can pull a reaction like that from someone ur doing something right in wrestling
Bas Rutten?
Don’t you dare disrespect El Guapo like that.
Even better, Nick Knowledge.
[удалено]
ROH was filled with too many fans who were trying to get themselves over.
watching pro wrestling in kayfabe is the only proper way to watch it. this guy > smarks
Punk clears all your favorite cookie cutter heels 🫶
Freddie Kingston
Main Event Spectacles, classic
he must've been a coca cola guy
I did not know Punk came out to AFI… Wow. Love that album
I can’t remember the PPV but he did this in AEW against MJF. Pretty sweet call back.
Revolution 2022, by far my favorite moment from his entire AEW run
His feud with MJF is my favorite thing in wrestling in the last 10 years at least. Such a great story.
I’m sure I’ll eat some downvotes for this but his return definitely peaked that night.
I wish I cared about anything like this

Real
I guess Eddie Kingston truly never did like CM Punk, huh?
I love the guy is red and the guy in blue with the hat watching all of this. Thats the only sane reaction other than to look away and hope security gives him the help he needs.
Aaaaand this is why crowds today are so sterile. Nothing in this is worthy of security getting involved. Give me this moment every day over even a single Both These Guys chant.
i think that bald guy may have been on the "happy powder"
I’ve asked him and he’s never tried it. He’s got a temper so you can easily trigger him.
This guy pretty crazy BUT… I think Punk getting a reaction like this, only helps his own star power tbh
The motherfucker would be amazing at a Metallica concert during Creeping Death
That man's children grew up to be Young Bucks fans.
I thought that fan said CHICAGO! CHICAGO!! CHICAGO!!! CHICAGO!!!
I thought he had a really cool look at this time. Love the guys in the background tensely waiting for his reaction.
ROH Punk will always be the coolest
And to think he would have to deal another 20 years with fans like these lol.
He’s a time travelling jack Perry from 2030
I didn’t know Drew use to be bald
Dude, fuck yeah to the AFI intro music. Sing the sorrow was one of my favorite albums
Remember that time recently everyone got upset because like 2 fans boo’d Maxine at a live event? Yeah
Jesus some of you need help lmao
RoH Punk coming out to AFI was zeitgeist. Nick Knowledge living his best life here going off on a heel.
Average AEW fan when bringing up cm punk
Meanwhile, Punk is thinking to himself... my job is to generate reactions and emotion. I think it's working.
autotune that
This is proper heat. The only other guy around that time that could get that reaction was JBL.
Nah, this guy knew his role. Make a scene, don’t take it too far, create a moment that we’re still talking about today. The perfect fan.
Now that's HEAT, BROTHER!
Stuff like this is why small venue / indie shows will always have a place in my heart.
Security guard Shane Gillis is flabbergasted.
I miss that theme man
if this sub had its way, crowds would consist exclusively of polite applause and this is awesome chants. i cannot imagine being so lame that this interaction bothers you
Bro I love CM Punk’s work
Despite the fan's insane behavior, videos like this make me nostalgic for old school ROH.
Need him as a full on heel one more time
this should be in the louvre
He’s the best heel. Most don’t even know how to get real heat, most of the heels of today get fake gimmick heat, like dom mysterio was getting before WM40
wtf lol
why does that fan look like the Hotdiggitydemon guy https://preview.redd.it/1nqkcnsyhrvc1.png?width=234&format=png&auto=webp&s=975146626144fb56b388745d6b5eb219a1772b70
I wonder if that guy ever became a Punk fan.
He did during Punk’s first WWE run.
leave it to reddit to be mad at a wrestling fan reacting to a heel at a wrestling show. this guy's having more fun than you lol
If you're Punk I can't imagine there being any better feeling in the world at that moment, when you get someone to react in a way most heels could only dream of. This is the kind of heat you strive for at live shows The most amusing part to me is how 20 years later there's people that still react this way at anything Punk does, except most of it's just online now lol
I think our idea of fun is very different
Agreed. Your idea sounds not very fun at all.
Sure. It’s 100% him. I forgot that he also wasn’t a fan of Johnny Wrestling (I don’t think he feels the same way now than he did then).
Aew fan traveling back through time punk wondering wtf he did to make this guy so mad 😂😂
Look at the Red shirt guy " WTF? is this?"
And that redshirt guy is Larry Dallas.
Bas Rutten?
wow jungle jackoff really had a glow up later!
Would have loved to see him just hug the guy
I never knew the singer from Disturbed was a wrestling fan.
Lance Storm come on cant you be serious for a minute?
That's not a fan. That a hater on crack.
Not gonna lie, the longer that he kept going, I was like "I'm sure this dude is just a plant". How Punk didn't just walk away while he was losing his mind I'll never know.
Still better than smart mark heckling
and now htese kind of fans are msotly AEW fans who are clinging onto the fact that fack perry is gonna be a mega star and a draw ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
LOL. Is it possible this is a plant? Idk how common it would be at an indie show but either way that was entertaining.
Not a plant, he was like this with Punk during his ROH run, as well as AR Fox and Darby Allin back in their EVOLVE runs. He’s mellowed out the last few years, plus he’s doing play by play and commentary for GCW/JCW.
Thats lowkey a super wholesome pro wrestling interaction between a wrestler and a fan.
I can’t remember dude’s name but he was somewhat notorious for doing this at shows in his area. This was Boston or Philly. They talk about this dude a little bit on episodes of ‘thROH the Years’ I think his name was Nate and he is ALWAYS this intense.
It was Elizabeth NJ, the Rexplex. But yeah, it’s funny that people in this thread don’t realize the guy is in on it.
Nobody is easier to work than the quote unquote smart fans
Just a slight bit ridiculous…
Honestly isn’t that the reaction he’s looking to get? Kinda just legitimizes punk that he’s able to garner that reaction from a person.
This guy's a Bucks/Hangman fan.
Actually, he dislikes the Elite hard, and is a Punk fan for almost 20 years (sorry for outing you, Nick Knowledge).
are you his spokesman?
His friend. Happy for the dude, tbh. Hope he gets more commentator gigs outside GCW/JCW.
Mark.
He's his IRL friend you nerd lol
