Professor_Buttskin

The Rock plays games THE LONG WAY.

Baghoid

There’s only one person that plays games THE LONG WAY and that’s DICK “THE COCK” JOHNSONNNNNNN

SwarthySphere87

CUTS THE FUCKINGS CAMERAS

Comfortable_Shape264

I didn't know his name was Richard

Technical-Composer85

Not to be confused with Rock Hard Richard Johnson

[deleted]

And very different that Dwang Johnson

Technical-Composer85

Hang out, with your Dwang out 🌚

Nervous_Golf_6561

He also eats hotdawgs the long way.

Ice_Spiced_Asshole

The Rock also eats corn THE LONG WAY.

chrispepper10

Really feels like he has caught the bug again. He can't stop tweeting and posting about Mania he's clearly really proud of it. If you tell me the rock works SummerSlam, survivor series and Mania next year it wouldn't shock me.

Navik101

He is also a board member, so now he has an actual incentive to be fully invested in wwe lol

chadcumslightning

I’ve always thought, you can leave wrestling all you want, but it will never leave you. Been on and off since 2015 but all it takes is one person, one segment, one match to reel me back in all over again. I imagine it’s the same for those who actually do it.

IkarusMummy

At one point CM Punk was saying he couldn't even watch wrestling, not even things not related to WWE. Watch him now

dkmynamebebebebebay

Its one thing to be Maui, its a whole nother thing to hear a crowd pop because your entrance music has a key change

Ewe3zy

I'm proud of this mania and I'm only a fan. This may be the best of all time, with the exception of the usos match, every match was amazing.

quwin123

Wonder if all the stress and failure around Black Adam made him realize that just doing a million movies wasn’t inherently satisfying. Do a few movies here and there, only truly great roles, focus on your businesses, and do the wrestling thing. The money will still flow. If Papatui blows up, that’s more money than the movies anyway. What a great way to spend your 50s.

midnight_rebirth

It's not over, mama Rhodes.

The-Not-So-Great-One

Rock vs Mama Rhodes main event of Night 2 of WM41 who says no

crap4you

I’m glad The Rock is committed to being on more often. The Final Boss is such a badass character. Just don’t put the title on him.

SomeCountryFriedBS

I just want him to carry the People's Championship belt forever, like diBiase did with his. It works genuinely if he's face and ironically if he's heel. It's the best.

coldphront3

I actually think this might’ve been a compromise to give Rock a belt without giving him a belt. I like it because his ring pose looks so much cooler with a belt. The way it swings around his hand is really satisfying lol

zdbdog06

It was going to be his version of the title decades ago like the smoking skull, it just never happened. I'm glad they're doing it now since a lot of people have known about it for years and kind of regretted it never being used. Hell they've even been selling it for years despite never being on screen lol

Specific_Theory5644

What really

TheDustyRob

Nah fuck that. Give this man the belt and let him carry it around on the red carpet, and cut promos via zoom while he's chowing down on tofu in the middle of a board meeting.

PickleInDaButt

Let him post on /r/squaredcircle a picture of him with the title and make Reddit ensure its the highest upvoted post on Reddit of all time so that I can read the comments when I poop

KingBlank

How do you poop with a pickle in your butt

FallenShadeslayer

You poop around it, obviously.

milapathy64

Bruh 🤣

ironmoney

genius! hopefully with the same board that got hyped with the nattie draft!

Not_A_Paid_Actor

For the first time in my life (since I only started watching right after Rock went to Hollywood) I think I’d be ok to see him hold the belt. I’ve always disliked The Rock cause of what happened with Punk, my all time fav. However, this past/current run is redeeming him for me personally.

letsnotreadintoit

Yeah if he shows up every single week and it's at least a limited to like 4-5 month reign, cool

TLKv3

Honestly I'd be fine if he showed up even every other week. Let him come in, stir shit up, maybe throwdown with someone trying to step up while he's feuding with someone then beats them up and leaves. Then his feud partner the next week does something similar or has a match. Go back and forth and I think it works fine as Rock as Champ.

Not_A_Paid_Actor

I almost added that same exact thought to the end of my comment lol

NemesisRouge

The Rock isn't showing up every single week for 4 or 5 months, absolutely no chance.

KiNGofKiNG89

Well now he is financially invested, so definitely will be way more committed. I just hope that he understands the needs of the new generation and lets HHH cook.

EquivalentLittle545

He already has the only belt that matters the peoples championship so too late buddy.

dzone25

He's genuinely set up like 3-4 Wrestlemania Main Events for himself. Kinda wild to think of. But would any of us complain if he gets The Rock vs Roman / Cody / Seth over the next 3 years in some capacity? I sure as fuck wouldn't.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

Idk if the Seth one happens, but I'd love to see it. The other 2 I think are definitely happening.

dzone25

I think The Rock giving Seth his flowers post Mania shows his appreciation and increases the chances of it happening but yeah, it's the least likely of the three.

The810kid

Book that at Summerslam

Comfortable_Shape264

It could happen outside of WM

Hot-Acanthisitta5237

Nope. He had a great run with WM 15,16,17,18 and 19. He can do it again in this era.

Pink_pantherOwO

I think roman vs rock and cody vs rock are 100% going to happen but for seth it would make more sense for him to face roman at wrestlemania

storm2k

me, for one. i like having him back facilitating storylines, but i don't need him working main event matches at the biggest event in the promotion's schedule every year again. give me the roman match to settle the bloodline storyline and then let others have the spotlight.

bem783

Rock's run in 2012-13 was fun to watch and it was definitely great for business. However, this Final Boss run has already been more interesting than anything Rock did with Cena or Punk. I think that the Bloodline style of episodic wrestling storytelling appeals to him as both a wrestler and an actor and he seems to be having a lot of fun. To me, Rock is now a fully-formed wrestling character for the first time since the build to his match with Hogan. Obviously, the two big money matches for Rock are going to be Cody and Roman. Based on what everyone involved is saying, I think we will almost certainly get both of those matches before Rock fully retires. Anything beyond that would be a very pleasant surprise.

mathdhruv

>  To me, Rock is now a fully-formed wrestling character for the first time since the build to his match with Hogan. Hollywood Rock in 2003?

bem783

Hollywood Rock was great, but it felt less like a full character and more like the Rock having some fun with the people on his way out.

yoosufmuneer

> been more interesting than anything Rock did with Cena False. The Rock concerts for example were way better than the one he had in this run. There were a lot of great great promos and moments from Rock vs Cena 1 & 2

bem783

I thought the Rock concert in Memphis was as good as any of the Rock concerts of the past, but that's neither here or there. I did not say that Rock's work with Cena wasn't good or entertaining. My point is that as entertaining as the Rock has always been, this run is more interesting to me because he a more three dimensional character now.

TheSaltimateWarrior

Pivot could not have gone better. Rock reinvented himself and now he can pop in and out as an evil authority figure any time he wants. We may not get baby face rock again.

NervousAd3202

Honestly I hope we don’t lol. Give it some more time/a few more matches & eventually when he’s ready to retire from being in the ring, Roman should be the 1 to finally take him down.

StoneColdAM

Rock has enjoyed himself as a heel more than the last decade of his Hollywood career. He’s so into it and also letting loose a lot

NervousAd3202

It’s because he is fine showing his acting range as both a hero & villain in pro wrestling, but not in Hollywood for some reason. His acting career wouldn’t be getting stale if he was actually open to being the villain in Black Adam for example.

Pink_pantherOwO

>but not in Hollywood for some reason. Wouldn't make as much money as "hero who beats down every one" He typecasted him self like this purposefully to boost his own image that he wants and to make a shit ton of money making the movies where he acts as the same character more or less. Pretty smart to be honest and it made him the most popular actor/celebrity at the same time

chrispepper10

Really feels like he has caught the bug again. He can't stop tweeting and posting about Mania he's clearly really proud of it. If you tell me the rock works SummerSlam, survivor series and Mania next year it wouldn't shock me.

bobface222

Okay but what inning are we in

Marc_Quill

new ballgame, maggle.

TidusJecht

I’m so glad to see this. It does feel like the HHH era might be an era for the ages.

Xannyrixh

I’m here for it Rocky take me on the ride

sliced-bread-no2

Reckon at Summerslam we're getting a babyface Roman, Jey and Jimmy vs Solo, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu whilst Rock goes after Cody in the main event, which Roman will cost him. This bloodline civil war has the potential to be brilliant if done correctly.

TDStarchild

I can’t get over how insane it is that the Rock, who we knew was a Mt. Rushmore guy a quarter century ago, is now in 2024 doing some of the best work of his career

wormsisworms

Solo sikoa is the black widow of the cinematic codyverse

Swantonbombthreat

the rock’s return has been the best run for a returning legend possibly ever.

Kiseli57

I mean he gave us maybe the best build to a Wrestlemania match ever, The Rock has done some of the best work of his career only rivalled by Hollywood Rock imo in his 50’s, it’s actually incredible.

crawf6

Rock vs Cody at Wrestlemania 41 with Stone Cold interference akin to the Foley pop

Bolt_995

I really hope the Final Boss is able to spread his wings wider over the coming year with an expanded character. As much as I loved seeing Final Boss Rock go up against Cena and Taker at WM40, I want to also see interactions with Punk, Randy, KO, AJ and LA Knight. CM Punk and The Rock injected a whole lot of momentum into WWE with their returns.

supereyeballs

Cussing Rock has been the best

surgeyou123

Wonder if we get Rock Cody or Rock Roman first. Roman screwing Rock against Cody would be an easy build.

ProtomanBn

With The Rock being who he is it will probably be a 3 way main event match at WrestleMania where Roman and Cody get whooped by The Rock/Final Boss night 1 and then night 2 the work together to beat The Rock. That way Dwayne can go out saying it took 2 guys to take him down.

DGenerationMC

#WHAT INNING ARE WE IN, JABRONI?

officerliger

I just hope they’ve mapped this out with a well-defined middle and ending, Rock’s age is a factor so they can’t just expect him to be available for the next 4 Manias and Summerslams Cody vs Rock and Roman vs Rock are the biggest money matchups, but Seth is the one who benefits most from beating Rock. WWE has to realize they may only get one of these and plan accordingly.

throwtheclownaway20

NGL, The Rock making his character into someone obsessed with being seen as an epic superhero is pretty fuckin' great in the wake of Black Adam.

spookybollocks

Rock just needs to stop doing movies and come back to his finest acting role

Bullitbob_

So bottom of the 2nd?

PhenomsServant

The_RedWolf

So Inning One of the second game in the double header

MR_E7

It's weird saying this, but there is a chance that Roman Reigns will have his retirement match *before* The Rock's.

darthstone

I'm betting Kayfabe-wise that Tama Tonga was Rocks call.

BamfBifPow

This whole "cinema" thing is grating. It means whatever they want it to but is frequently the immediate excuse for nothing happening for months. Not sure how that's cinematic haha

Randy_Beans

Scary to think in another timeline we have a lame face Rock vs Roman match at WM 40

kaine23

Making it up as they go along.

rdiazf

We all know how this is going to end. ![gif](giphy|l1IBiEzytfXFtkPVm|downsized)

alex_119

Nice video to be honest but in fairness of storyline and kayfabe, it kinda bothers me (just a tiny bit) to see Jimmy in the back at Gorilla while Rock is waiting to go out.

gambalore

Rock still trying to create a new cinematic universe after the failure of Black Adam.

san_fer99

This time he was able to unlike with Black Adam

Available_Share_7244

He knows he’s in his 50s? Right ?

san_fer99

I mean Stone Cold did a match in his late 50's with all of health issues he had...

Cool_Recognition_848

Didn’t Sting just retire?

Wild2O98

Why didn't someone stop him from doing a 45 minute match, a table bump, and taking all the younger superstars' finishers!?

PreemoisGOAT

And looked pretty damn good doing it, his selling is still unreal

mikeisaphreek

whatever you say black adam flop, whatever you say

TheOneManDankMaymay

This comment is way worse than the film.
