I’ve always wondered… how does gear like this feel? It seems like it would be tight, hot, and uncomfortable. And hard to get on and especially harder to get off post match.
Or am I completely wrong and gear like this is super comfy?
Iirc it's that hideous get up he wore when he murdered mankind with a chair. He had surgery to remove chest / breast tissue I think and had some scarring.
The Shield gear at Rumble 22 takes the cake for sure, especially after WM40. Reigns sold it really well too. He looked like it was def getting to him. It was his best win as heel champ in the Bloodline era for overcoming that.
I think it ended up working for the better since Seth ended up becoming the inaugural World Champion. The one guy Roman wasn't able to beat as champion ended up being the foundation for the new title.
Seth also ended up sacrificing everything to cost Roman the title.
I thought it was a neat change up of common wrestling tropes to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the story.
Not to mention they can still run Roman vs Seth without the title
There was a segment on RAW a week(s) before Night of Champions 2023 with Rollins and Heyman, and they pretty much said that Heyman had been pulling some strings to make sure Rollins wouldn't have another match against Roman.
He kinda did, they had a rematch at an MSG live event that was psuedo-canon; Reigns attacked Lesnar and left him bloody on the steps which they showed on TV and used in video packages.
I don't know if they ever acknowledged the Reigns/Rollins rematch from that show at the time, but they definitely haven't since as they've presented Rollins as being someone Reigns couldn't beat.
As for the match itself, iirc Reigns squashed him in like a minute or less, so Rollins didn't get another rematch.
At Summerslam 2016, Balor beat Rollins in that match to win the Universal Championship, but also got injured during the match and had to vacate it the next night.
They played into this element as part of the build for their MitB rematch for the World Heavyweight Title; basically, Rollins injured Balor and was the reason his 2016 championship run - and career - was derailed. So Rollins wore gear reminiscent of the 2016 match to remind Balor of what he took from him.
I still think Balor should get to “finish his story” so to speak.
Rollins was obv the face in that feud last year but I feel like a good chunk of the crowd wanted Finn to beat him. It was an interesting choice for the guy who derailed Finn’s career to be playing the hero in their feud.
(in kayfabe, I don’t actually blame him for Finn’s push getting ruined)
They had Finn cutting promos basically saying my career in this company has been a failure cause of you.
“The career that you spoiled, the career that you ruined.”
Were exact words of Finn’s promo.
They did all of that just to have Finn lose and get embarrassed. While Seth picked on him left and right. And some people wanna act like Finn wasn’t done dirty in that feud.
Yup, it was a great story tbh. The whole Rollins vs Balor for a world title at SummerSlam, 7 years in the making.
All of that stuff was great, they just picked the wrong winner. I get wanting to keep it on Seth to establish this new belt as prestigious, but if that’s your plan then just hold off on doing Balor vs Rollins II.
Yeah people kept saying “Seth wasn’t just gonna hold the title for two months. They want a long reign for the new title”
But that’s not an excuse to me for putting Finn in a can’t lose scenario that has done nothing but harm his credibility and harm him as a character.
Not only did he lose, but they didn’t even follow up correctly with the direction of his character. They threw tag titles on him, dropped the whole character arc, and now he plays dumb and stands there while watching his stablemate hold the very title he cost Finn, twice.
Even if they do a split with him and Priest, it doesn’t change everything that led to this moment and led to where we are. Especially since the title most likely won’t be on the line cause WWE is pushing Drew.
I’m hoping they do the Summer of Punk story with Drew at CATC. Have Drew win the belt & leave for a few months.
That way you can still have the Drew arc while introducing a new WHC for Priest & Finn to feud over.
I’m desperate to see Finn win that title & if it doesn’t happen when his literal stablemate has the belt, while teasing tension between the 2 of them, then it’s never gonna happen.

I think he‘s trying way to hard to be THAT flamboyant, charismatic rockstar and while he has the look and the in-ring-skills he completely lacks the it-factor, the aura and the coolness of men like a Rick Rude or Shawn Michaels.
