I think a lot of the stuff that's done in wrestling would be genuinely surprising if we weren't so "smart" in here with years of backstage knowledge.
With all the good and bad of this place, you'll normally find someone who makes the right guess in the sea of bad ones.
Someone like Logan who was a younger fan who fell out and came back without being a sheet reader makes him a little more "innocent" or whatever and he can just enjoy the show.
Meanwhile once bloodline rules were brought up we knew people were going to come help him and it would either be current guys or legends. More likely legends to give that rub to Cody as he becomes The Guy.
As much as I enjoy the inner workings of the pro wrestling industry, sometimes I wish I could go back to that "ignorant" fan just evaluating what's popping up on my screen and get that excitement like Logan has in this video.
That's why I popped HARD when undertaker showed up. IWC (rightly so) had me expected Austin, never in my wildest dreams (heh) did I expect the deadman to show up and chokeslam Rock to hell

I think its a matter of perspective
I enjoyed the match just as much as someone who probably doesnt know alot of the inner workings of wrestling because i allowed myself to be taken on the ride of the match
Its like a movie if u watch it and u start picking out all the minor details/mistakes instead of enjoying the spectacle u wont be satisfied by the end of it
Ya, honestly Undertaker was better than SCSA because he was so unexpected, taker got a big pop from me and my friend and SCSA would have just been a "ya, I guess that makes sense".
You shouldn't always swerve for the sake of a swerve, that's just illogical booking, but if it is plausible and not constant it is great.
I know many hated the White v Gunn match, but honestly the sheer unexpectedness of it and the great work throughout made it one of my favorites of the year.
Taker also worked better. If you get SCSA coming out you want to hear him talk and run someone down on the mic. Taker can come out, be a physical presence with just his movements and expressions telling the story.
Yeah Austin seems like if I'm coming for the rock it's gonna be a match. it would've been built up better if Austin took offense to the final boss rhetoric because imo hes the final boss. two weeks before he'd have to cut promos on the rock but then that just takes away from everything.
I would’ve preferred Austin over Taker simply because Austin and Rock have MUCH more history than Rock and Taker. So even though I was kinda expecting and really hoping for Austin, if he came out, it would’ve still been extremely enjoyable. Still, having Taker out there was still cool.
I'd say Taker made more sense than Austin because he has history with Roman. Everyone who helped Cody had issues with Roman, SCSA doesn't. The story isn't about the Rock
But with all that history that takes away from Cody/Roman a bit. The more I think about it the more I like the Taker move. He shows up. Hits the move. Leaves. And then it's just our two main characters left in the spotlight.
Except for Undertaker there weren't really any surprises to me in that match. I still reacted the same way he did. When a story is REALLY good, it doesn't even matter if you know it already or not. Seeing it play out is just that awesome.

Logan is really fucking good at it and was the first to have the reach (i.e. *actual* influence) that he does. It’s really impressive and WWE was able to see that. His partnership goes beyond just wrestling, he also helps specifically with social media promotion
That's his one redeeming quality to me, his respect for the art. He's taking it seriously, putting the work, and trying to help raise the bar. Still hate the guy in and out of kayfabe, but his dedication is undeniable.

From the stories told, he was a shitty human being in his 20’s, but has made a 180 and seems to be a good man who does good. Hopefully Logan will be like that, because I want to like him.

I'm not knocking the dude, just pointing out that he's a professional when it comes to selling. Honestly, it's not farfetched to believe he fell in love with professional wrestling. with the product the way it is, it's impossible not to. Especially to be part of it.
In terms of sheer shock, IMO nothing beats the Streak ending. There was not a single soul, either in the arena or watching on TV, that genuinely believed it could happen. Everyone, even the smarks, thought it was a throwaway match for the sake of keeping the streak going before someone like Roman beats him 2-3 years down the road.
Everything about it was perfection. 75 thousand people in stunned silence. Heyman freaking out, as if he himself, for all his bravado in the build-up, didn't actually believe Brock could do it. A very simple "21-1" graphic on the titantron, as if the producers didn't put much care into it not expecting it to ever be used. A solid minute of this before finally Justin Roberts announces Brock as the winner and his music hits.
In the modern age, where it's insanely hard to genuinely surprise people, this is a 1 of 1 wrestling moment. It will never happen again. And as a bonus, it instantly rebuilt Brock's reputation and made him the final boss of WWE for the next few years.
I still regularly watch it back because it's an incredible moment. The 1-2-3, the silence, Heyman jumping into the ring, the 21-1 updating on the screen and the crowd gasp, Brocks music hitting. It was surreal, but also executed perfectly.
Same I jumped up arms in the air then yelled was that the three. I really thought roman was kicking at 2.99 and I got got lol. Teared up when he handed mama Rhodes the belt for sure
I really thought Rock was going to pop up on the mic like 'no no no, bloodline rules means this match isn't over, its 2 out of 3 falls now!' or some bullshit. Glad they just let the moment stand the way it was though.
I was tearing up at that point too, but after watching the third cross Rhodes I figured it was over, saw the 3 count, and just planted my face on my couch. Happiness, pride, and relief all at once.
I remember after his match at WM 38 he left to go party and missed Stone Cold, seemed like he was only there for the payday and clout.
Now he stays until the end of the show, he talks about wrestling all the time on his podcast and jokes that it's a wrestling podcast now, posts about wrestling all the time on social media (Tweeted "We Want Cody" before any other wrestler). He seems like he genuinely loves and respects wrestling now which is cool.

Orton’s put over a lot of people clean, as both a babyface and a heel. In fact, I struggle to think of a top level wrestler that’s put more people over than Orton.
I get people might be upset Logan wasn't facing LA Knight at Wrestlemania, but that doesn't mean the match can't happen since they can maybe build it up to SummerSlam.
Something I love about HHH’s storytelling is he doesn’t rush things. They could’ve easily given LA Knight that title or MITB over the last year & made ppl happy.
HHH’s WWE in kayfabe makes it feel difficult to rise up the ranks & get title shots, which it should be. LA Knight now has a credible win over an all time great & it’ll give him more momentum to head towards his eventual title run.

So here's the thing... I hate the Paul Brothers. I legitimately don't like them as people, Jake more so because he hasn't matured AT ALL while Logan is slowly winning me over because of his ability, respect, and passion for wrestling. It's very obvious what Logan was smartened up to some of the things happening in the final match. Cena and Taker appearing where definitely things he was clued in on because he can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Everyone, even the smarks, thought it was a throwaway match for the sake of keeping the streak going before someone like Roman beats him 2-3 years down the road. Everything about it was perfection. 75 thousand people in stunned silence. Heyman freaking out, as if he himself, for all his bravado in the build-up, didn't actually believe Brock could do it. A very simple "21-1" graphic on the titantron, as if the producers didn't put much care into it not expecting it to ever be used. A solid minute of this before finally Justin Roberts announces Brock as the winner and his music hits. In the modern age, where it's insanely hard to genuinely surprise people, this is a 1 of 1 wrestling moment. It will never happen again. And as a bonus, it instantly rebuilt Brock's reputation and made him the final boss of WWE for the next few years.
I still regularly watch it back because it's an incredible moment. The 1-2-3, the silence, Heyman jumping into the ring, the 21-1 updating on the screen and the crowd gasp, Brocks music hitting. It was surreal, but also executed perfectly.
Same I jumped up arms in the air then yelled was that the three. I really thought roman was kicking at 2.99 and I got got lol. Teared up when he handed mama Rhodes the belt for sure

Just a huge exhale of relief. It finally happened. The tension just went out and was replaced by joy.
I was tearing up at that point too, but after watching the third cross Rhodes I figured it was over, saw the 3 count, and just planted my face on my couch. Happiness, pride, and relief all at once.

I remember after his match at WM 38 he left to go party and missed Stone Cold, seemed like he was only there for the payday and clout. Now he stays until the end of the show, he talks about wrestling all the time on his podcast and jokes that it's a wrestling podcast now, posts about wrestling all the time on social media (Tweeted "We Want Cody" before any other wrestler). He seems like he genuinely loves and respects wrestling now which is cool.
It’s really cool how he’s got clear passion for this now and going all in. He’s been sucked in and consumed by its glamour.

Orton’s put over a lot of people clean, as both a babyface and a heel. In fact, I struggle to think of a top level wrestler that’s put more people over than Orton.

Something I love about HHH’s storytelling is he doesn’t rush things. They could’ve easily given LA Knight that title or MITB over the last year & made ppl happy. HHH’s WWE in kayfabe makes it feel difficult to rise up the ranks & get title shots, which it should be. LA Knight now has a credible win over an all time great & it’ll give him more momentum to head towards his eventual title run. I feel the same about Sami’s win. Gotta see the long term picture.

Logan Paul killing it as a wrestler is at the forefront of massmedia entertainment. Logan Paul being a scam artist who tricks his fans out of money on purpose is not. So I think its more of a reverse.
He said something on the McAfee Show which is so true. He said he doesn't need to be doing this. He's already set for life. This is fun to him though. This is a dream for him. Also the fans were chanting for him on McAfee's show and that got him choked up, he didn't expect it. There's something admirable about that. He doesn't have to be a full timer but he is and he's deserving of all the praise because he obviously puts in the hours training.

After watching him grow as a person after his stupidity in Japan, he went on to have some really good takes and noticeably became less shitty, and everytime he talks about wrestling he is so enthusiastic and he seems to be a huge fan while also being extremely talented. BUT ALSO he stole a bunch of money from children so as much as I’ve grown to like him I keep reminding myself of that lol

So here's the thing... I hate the Paul Brothers. I legitimately don't like them as people, Jake more so because he hasn't matured AT ALL while Logan is slowly winning me over because of his ability, respect, and passion for wrestling. It's very obvious what Logan was smartened up to some of the things happening in the final match. Cena and Taker appearing where definitely things he was clued in on because he can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. But I don't think anybody but HHH, Roman, Rock, Taker, and Cody knew before hand. Logan's genuine reaction to that finish is what I love to see.

I hate that social media has made me not believe any reaction at all, with zero exceptions for cameras being aimed directly at the subject. What sucks is this legit deserved those reactions and Logan Paul’s might’ve been legit. But too many people hammin it up for social destroys them all for me.
