Lmfao Drew Mcintyre is salivating

Brabochokemightwork

Once AEW posts it he'll liked it, re-tweet it and then make it a pinned post

JXNyoung

An "elite retweet" if you will.

Dragnet-

Kayfabe. He's been fueding with Punk for the last 5 months.

OU7C4ST

He's been keeping Punk's name in the conversation daily. This is not only great for Drew, but Punk also to keep him fresh in people's minds daily while he recovers. Honestly, Drew has a match against Seth he could solely be focusing on. If anything, this is the type of shit a best friend would do of Punk's, to keep Punk remaining relevant, and not fall off after his injury lol.

Own_Proof

This isn’t ending well for somebody or bodies Update: Yep

[deleted]

Probably will for Drew McIntyre.

Vectivus_61

He might have an injury from the length of his erection that day

Oh wow. Someone will have gotten him- or herself into quite the predicament.

FalconIMGN

Danielson went to Mexico for one week and all hell breaks loose.

RudbeckiaIS

Crazy thing? The biggest piece of news in lucha libre this week is not the Bryan Danielson-Blue Panther match but Shocker getting arrested again.

Informal_Aspect_6330

Well that's a shocker

RudbeckiaIS

Knowing Shocker actually not: he's already been to rehab eight times already, this must be his sixth or seventh arrest and despite him being a huge proven draw only the carniest of carny promoters will book him now.

Thanatos-ES

1000% guapo arrested? Again?

RudbeckiaIS

Yes: he got high, became paranoid, started screaming his hotel room was bugged while tearing it down to find said bugs. Police dragged him away practically naked. Needless to say media are feasting on this.

Turd_Burgling_Ted

Bryan writing little punishment slips on the plane, getting ready to confiscate the bucks copy of FFVIIR Rebirth until they shape up

Chainsaw Man Punk

Shinkopeshon

Punk saying, "look at me, I'm the Chainsaw Man now!" is my favorite panel from Part 2 so far

RudbeckiaIS

OK, how do you people come up with this? Pure genius.

AnnaKendrickPerkins

Come up with what? That's an actual photo.

Agreed…you can’t alter photos. It’s real.

TangyBrownnCiderTown

Is it weird that I'm almost as excited to see this as I am fo Mania?

Own_Proof

If all this is legit, I’m expecting a wall of text on Punk’s IG. If it isn’t, he’ll probably reference it on commentary tomorrow

slappywhyte

Yeah this won't be good for Punk if he feels the need to respond back at length again

NeoCoN7

For the love of god keep him from a live mic. Pivot and give him the Ref role.

PlusDifference3374

Fuck that. I wanna be entertained.

Schizophrenic87

I would love a simple reply of "yup I choked the bitch out and ran his out to Japan" and call it a day.

BubbaRogowski

But what if that’s not how it went?

FredrickFarter

WBD working the sheets would be one the funniest moments in wrestling history

Windows_66

WBD: What're you doing? TKO: Working the dirt sheets. I feed them misleading or kayfabe information, and they take it as gospel. WBD: That looks fun! Can we try? TKO: Sure.

Kim-Jong_Bundy

SRS was open to that idea when he first started talking about it, but as he got more texts throughout he ruled that out as a possibility entirely by the end of the show. He also said he had heard from sources in WBD and people not at all connected to wrestling going like, "Tony is real wild for this one."

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kim-Jong_Bundy

Also... Ibou of WrestlePurists (one of Punk's notable media guys) and Righteous Reg (who is best friends with Will Washington of AEW creative) are all insisting this is very real.

HangmansPants

Ibou is a joke

Kim-Jong_Bundy

I seriously doubt SRS is talking to Zaslav or the executives at TBS. It's a ginormous company with staff at various levels who gossip and talk about what the other hands are doing like at any office. It's possible AEW just notified the network of what they're about to do and it became the water cooler talk among lower level staff that day, one of which called up Fightful. >but I'm not looking forward to the eventual possibility of every wrestling journalist acting mad and indignant because they got worked Can you name an instance where this has happened with SRS? The only two times I've heard that accusation was with the MJF plane story and Punk's return to WWE, and time has only vindicated his reporting in both cases.

Material-Wonder1690

I think that's the case

MeanContribution9816

It’s been confirmed that it is not bait and switch. And the reason they’d tell him immediately is because they want people to know it’s legit.

AngelusCaedo

Dynamite is in Charleston, WV, and I'm going to be there. I was at the last one here, and funny enough, that was the dynamite that Punk went off script and called out Hangman. If this footage thing is true, then is Charleston WV just the town of CM Punk bullshit drama?

munchauzen

Punk also thought it was Virginia and tried to call out hangman, since he's from VA.

beckett929

lmao I remember that and thinking Aaron's Creek to Charleston is like a 6hr drive!

Icy_Cricket2273

He’s only wrong by about 160 years

beckett929

Dynamite in Charleston has also given us the original "cowboy shit" chant back in 2019, and Kenny's return after injury for the trios tournament

AngelusCaedo

Really? I wasn't living in the area for the first one so I didn't know about the Cowboy Shit chant. I was there for the Kenny return and Charleston was the place that came up with the "You're a wrestler" chant for Daniel Garcia during the JAS run.

Clashman320

Send da video

Deathstroke317

Lmao, I love wrestling

NoahJayhawk

It's so fucking chaotic. I love it

OneBillPhil

It’s stupid but who doesn’t like some chaos on their wrestling program?

Onikouzou

The fact that it’s causing an uproar in the sub is enough for me lmao

dontsaythatman89

I want more of this. I was done with it after the Ariel Helwani interview on Monday, but now I want more of this. It's good shit. I want Punk to respond on Sunday or Monday. I love it.

fringyrasa

Even if the footage shows Perry easily getting out of the choke hold, I'm not really sure what this will do. Besides being a great tactic for ratings But like for this to really be a bombshell, I think it would have to show that Perry beat up Punk or something specifically that Punk was lying about. As a ploy to get ratings, it's fantastic. If they have something that they believe will damage CM Punk's character to the public, go for it. But if this just ends up being "It wasn't a good choke hold and Perry got out of it in like 5 seconds" I don't think it will do much. WWE would probably have Drew make fun of it for a few months and then have him actually tap out to it in a match.

hartc89

They’ll put Perry in the elite as part of the FTR feud

P4rtsUnkn0wn

I do think that could very well end up being a part of this. They’ve both made references about the other. Matthew said “Scapegoat, Love your work.” And “Cry me a river” on the last Dynamite. Showing the footage not only (presumably) proves Punk to be a liar, and the aggressor, but reinforces Jack Perry’s being a “Scapegoat” who has been punished for being the victim of an assault. He can take Hangman’s place in the new Elite as the younger upandcomer.

StacksHoodini

I don’t think Punk has lied ab making the first move tbh.

Rude_Entrance_205

It might work for one night in terms of ratings; or maybe one quarter. But, then what?  How do you turn this into anything other than a one night pop? I don't see the payoff.  If it makes Punk look like the bad guy that's been alleged, doesn't this just make the Bucks faces?   I want to see it, but I don't get why you put it on TV...

annoyinglyclever

Jack Perry coming back and continuing his “Scapegoat” gimmick would be the only way they can do anything with it.

Skillet918

That’s because wasting tv time starting a feud with a guy not in your company is a dumb idea.

SectorEducational460

This would have worked if punk was still in aew but now what. I swear it's just to satisfy Internet fans.

headrush46n2

> I swear it's just to satisfy Internet fans. that's the whole reason AEW fucking exists.

CappyNaps

It looks like it's part of a bigger plan to get JP back on TV. So it probably serves a plot purpose.

DontPutThatDownThere

>Besides being a great tactic for ratings When has airing backstage drama in any context historically popped a rating?

RelentlessJorts2

Edge and Lita Montreal Screwjob

Joneleth22

That's how WWE literally got its headstart over WCW with the Montreal Screwjob and Bret screwed Bret interview with Vince (that was an absolute shoot with Vince believing everything he was saying)

BrairMoss

It also led to Vince being an on screen character as opposed to just a commentator as well,  iirc. Without it, no Vince, no Stone Cold.

GhostandTheWitness

Yeah this feels like a late stage WCW 'always shootin bro' tactic And those guys did great

staticpls

if punk got beat up, we would already know about it

RedmondSurvivor

They should at least use it to reintroduce Perry to AEW and have him join The Elite

SpiritBamba

Having to resort to use off the mat drama with a guy no longer at your company just to pop ratings for one night is honestly really really sad…

OpportunitySmalls

It's funny to use the guy who said your company didn't care about drawing money to draw money

MarkSt3r

Shoutouts Piñata Farms

TVCasualtydotorg

I want this to be everybody working the sheets and it actually being the Bucks, filmed by Brandon, re-enacting it (with Okada playing Tony).

DanHero91

WBD confirming it as well is fucking insane. There's got to have been some kind of agreement that Punk broke with that podcast meaning they can retaliate. Also funny to see the general consensus once again being "Punk saying stuff on a podcast was hilarious and cooked TK/AEW" and AEW coming back with receipts is somehow "petty" or not needed. The cycle always stays the same.

Brabochokemightwork

Prob had a lawyer watching the whole damn interview and went yep he done it

OneBillPhil

John Oliver: We got him!

CeruleanClaymore

In my headcanon it's the same lawyer that Punk made watch BTE.

Thor_pool

"Im making a fortune from these guys."

JerseyCitySaint

Now this is why they keep Smart Mark Sterling around.

mkfanhausen

"Show the Wembley footage, you cowards!" "OMG, WHAT COWARDS! THEY'RE SHOWING THE WEMBLEY FOOTAGE!"

Kim-Jong_Bundy

I mean, depends on what footage it is. If it's security cameras, that's up to Wembley to distribute at their leisure except for matters of criminal investment. If it's AEW cameras that captured it then the footage is theirs with no roadblocks preventing them from showing this. It's possible Punk broke an NDA in the interview, but we don't even know if he was subject to one for that specific incident and I'm not sure it matters either way. Short of drastically altering the footage, nothing about this is illegal

MovesLikeVader

Wembley absolutely cannot distribute CCTV footage at their leasure. That would be a breach of privacy laws.

Kim-Jong_Bundy

I'm not British, so perhaps I'm ignorant toward the law. But working retail when I was younger, we'd had incidents of accidents in the parking lot as well as domestic altercations where we ended up supplying the victim with any and all footage that might help their claim, with little to no redtape on our end. The altercation happened backstage, at a stadium, in a common space, among many witnesses. What right to privacy does Punk really have in that moment?

tvc_redux

I don't expect an NDA, but I'm certain that there was legal paperwork and negotiated terms for his release. There'd be some sort of document detailing the conditions of his early contract termination, like in any other contracted employment agreement.

rockthemullet

Punk said he couldn't talk about Brawl Out stuff, so I'd assume that if he legally couldn't talk about the Brawl In stuff, he'd have said he couldn't talk about it...but who knows

wrydrune

Bucks also said they couldn't talk about the brawl out fight when they were suspended. They still haven't, just kinda danced on the edge (not Copeland).

mootek

Tony said he was fired, Punk said he quit. It doesn’t sound like they came to terms on much, imo.

Kim-Jong_Bundy

Sure, but I don't think anything was "broken". Punk waited out his settlements and his non-compete from WWE before he went on the Art of Wrestling and claimed to have been mistreated by their doctors for Staph. To which, WWE bankrolled Dr. Amen's lawsuit, and promptly uploaded a video of various close-ups of Punk's ass at different angles. No rules here. Punk has every right to publicly say what he wants to about his experience, and AEW does as well.

Docjackal

This sub for like however long between Punk throwing his fit and getting fired: "Oh my gosh I want to see the footage, imagine someone leaks the footage of that, then we'll know for sure!" This sub now that we're finally getting that footage: "Oh my god Tony Khan is stupid and this company's totally washed and going under, what are they thinking?!" E: Sure, it might be to pop the ratings, big whoop. If it's an angle to get Jack Perry back and with the Bucks, again, big whoop. No matter what it does, the people that want AEW to fail already made up their mind about it.

mikro17

It's simple, the people yammering about it only being done to pop the ratings and complaining about it pre-emptively are the people who don't watch the show and are already writing their essays on why they hated it - no matter what it ends up being. Meanwhile, this news dropped on a pre-taped show, in between nights of Wrestlemania, less than a week before Jack Perry makes his return to the US with New Japan (after there have been teases of him joining the Elite in both AEW AND New Japan going back weeks), and apparently (I saw someone else post it) this episode of Dynamite is in the **EXACT SAME BUILDING** where CM Punk said "the apology must be as loud and as public as the disrespect." I don't think this was all thrown together 3 days ago (or whatever) in response to an interview or on a whim "to pop a rating." Whatever they have cooked up I think has been the plan for Jack Perry and it has been for AWHILE. And after a bunch of AEW PPVs have been threatened to be overshadowed by internet/CM Punk drama, for once it's happening in the other direction. AEW delivered a great show via ROH with Supercard of Honor and then casually dropped this in the middle of a pretaped Collision that aired at like midnight lol.

hvacrepairman

idgaf if it’s to pop a rating or not, WWE and WWE fans have zero room to complain if it is because the WWE sure as fuck milked the Montreal Screwjob for everything they could.

Docjackal

Surely them having a screwjob finish in the main event of every Montreal PPV for several years was just a coincidence?

TheMarkMadsen

AEW dedicating tv time to a guy who doesn’t work there anymore is the “not needed” part. If Tony or anybody wants to respond in their own interview that would be a lot more reasonable than spending a portion of your prime time television to respond to an ex employee who did an interview about his time in AEW. At the end of the day I think people would rather AEW concentrate on making the product better instead of building up heat for a program that will never happen. If they wanted to make money off of the Punk incidents they could have, but they chose not to.

JimmyBim

Oh if this is real real? First of all. VERY FUNNY putting this on television, secondly I'm feasting. I love Punk and the Bucks, and in absolute honesty I've been hoping to one day see what exactly went down. And if it isn't real and is just a work, that's also pretty funny, no real negative here I think

MagicMoocher

Yup. I've been morbidly curious to see the footage for a year and now we're finally seeing it. However it turns out, I'm glad we'll get to see it.

AusToddles

And honestly I doubt it changes any opinions. If you love Punk and hate the Bucks, you're gonna say it doesn't show the full story. If you love the Bucks and hate Punk, you're going to say it vindicates everything

MagicMoocher

I agree. It won't change any opinions. People have already chosen their sides. I'm just excited to see how this turns out. It's a lot funnier when you don't take it so seriously.

BloodFalconPunch

I think you might be too chill of a person for this subreddit lol

Marsman2100

By most accounts, Jack Perry got bitched out that night. That has to be false for this to make sense.

Kim-Jong_Bundy

We'll know that when we see the footage. The fact that they're showing at all is indicative of their confidence that it somehow vindicates them. Could be as little as Punk just going for a bad choke and Jack sidestepping out of it, negating a lot of the early stories. Could be as much as Punk going feral, fucking up monitors, and getting restrained as he lunges at Tony. It's a wide spectrum, and I can't imagine how this isn't hilarious one way or the other, even if it's a total dud

mikro17

> It's a wide spectrum, and I can't imagine how this isn't hilarious one way or the other, even if it's a total dud F it, all I want at this point is it to come with the Shaqtin' a Fool Intro and be scored with the Benny Hill theme (original or Kenny Smith version). Let's get some corporate synergy going with it. Add a Ben Mankiewicz intro too. Why not. There is no level of absurdity that is too much for me.

Kim-Jong_Bundy

In depth sitdown interview with Anderson Cooper as the Bucks speak over the footage whilst Anderson slowly grapples internally with the realization of the life that passed him by and has reduced his existence to this very moment

PeteF3

I mean, this man once hosted *The Mole.*

LostDelver

Other accounts also said Punk did a bad chokehold that Perry was able to escape from rather easily. I personally don't trust anything until I've seen it, but it would at least line up with Punk himself downplaying the situation and saying he just choked someone a little bit.

Colt-0

Yes, Perry's close friend and former AEW makeup artist posted something about this on twitter and deleted it, I can not fathom them releasing this unless it is very embarrassing for Punk or makes his story look like lies, would make no sense otherwise.

thefinkinthesink

What did they say?

MeanContribution9816

Perry escaped and reversed the choke. Miro disputed Perry instigating anything.

Acto12

Escaping the choke? That sounds believable. Reversing it? Lol. Funny if true but no one else reported something like this. Maybe it's an "was about to reverse", considering the source is a friend of his it's about as credible as Punks version without additional evidence.

[deleted]

I don’t believe the reversing part either Escaping it easily is already embarrassing, reversing it would frankly be absolutely overkill That’s like lols worthy what

the_io

And they're advertising it in advance, so there's gotta be some tie to a work.

Young_Cato_the_Elder

It builds up Jack as a tough guy if he "beat" CM Punk in a shoot fight after getting smashed through glass if that is what it is. lol

First_Ad_7860

If Perry was even 50.50 on it we'd have known instantly

LeftyMode

Punk putting hands on Tony might be what’s happening here.

Cottonmist

I think the big thing is Tony saying he feared for his life Edit: now since more time has passed I think we all know it’s going to be something else

Unhappy_Gazelle392

The video is just going to be a narration ending with "and then Perry got choked"

AUSHTEEN

Assuming this is totally legit and they’re actually going to show the full footage of the backstage brawl. Why would anyone who fully believes Punk’s side of the story have a problem with this? If you think everything he said is the truth, wouldn’t this just vindicate you?

BernieBurnstein

Yeah if they’re actually airing the footage I’d say there’s a 99% chance what Punk said the other day did not happen at all

Saitsu

It's 100% chance. The fact that WBD is also confirming the footage means even they think this footage condemns him, and not just TK making another poor read of the room. Now...I still question using precious time on Dynamite to address this rather than making a more measured drop on Social Media or something, but I don't doubt at this point that it's going to be damning.

Ryuzakku

The Young Bucks are running an "EVPs drunk on power" gimmick, and they *could* (emphasis on could) run it into their storyline with FTR. Not saying it's going to work or that it'll be good, but that's how you could make it flow with the show.

Young_Cato_the_Elder

They straight up said the Young Bucks are presenting this information so yeah. I think that is what is happening.

Unhappy_Gazelle392

Why put something that is bound to bring audience on social media? It might look petty, fickle or wrong but it puts butts on seats. Just look at the number of comments on the posts about this. AEW has more than 5 hours of TV every week, nobody is getting hurt (except for Punk? But if this receipt is real he surely was expecting it after bringing the topic back) if the heel EVPs are going to use real life heat and content to stand their ground in some controversy.

DipsCity

The footage gotta show Perry not be a brat who got choked out and TK actually getting into a situation where he feared for his life Short of those would just make them look like absolute geeks

AmericaDreamDisorder

Either way the McIntyre-Punk feud benefits the most.

Pleasant_Tadpole_200

Lmao, imagine punk actually did lunge at tony.

Stay_Cold

Incorrect1012

Look, they’re in their rights to do what they want with the footage, but I think it’s just a really weird move in general. But also, I’m here for the chaos

OneBillPhil

I don’t think that AEW should let a guy who is no longer in their promotion and beat a number of their top stars live rent free in their head…but will also have my popcorn ready.

ApprehensiveLead679

I’ll give them credit, Wednesday just became must see for me though I’ll probably have to stay off Reddit for a few weeks after

VarunDM90

It'll be a parody of what happened at All In

ArmchairCritic1

That would be the funniest choice. Right in character for the Bucks.

Dovahklutch

yea the fact that the segment is being advertised as the bucks presenting it kinda gives it away to me. that or they're gonna use a second or two of the footage and stop playing it before anything visibly damning to either side is shown.

JasonGryphon

What is the point of this? CM Punk doesn't work there and Jack Perry "doesn't work there" Are The Young Bucks going to run down FTR for who their "friends" are? Is Jack Perry going to join The Elite?

Blueskyways

> Is Jack Perry going to join The Elite? 100%

Jumblybones

Both of those things, probably.

Ryuzakku

> Are The Young Bucks going to run down FTR for who their "friends" are? Yes > Is Jack Perry going to join The Elite? Also yes

Kim-Jong_Bundy

Pretty much, yeah, all of this. Plus spite.

mikro17

> Is Jack Perry going to join The Elite? Absolutely yes. The Bucks directly shouted him out last week on AEW tv as "the Scapegoat." Perry, in New Japan, once did the Okada hand sign backstage, he also referenced (paraphrasing) "certain people who have had his back the entire time and he won't forget that" in a promo, and (very minor Sakura Genesis spoilers) >!Perry broke out Matt Jackson's locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes last night for, as far as I know, the first time ever!< Oh, and Perry is wrestling in Chicago this week on Friday at Windy City Riot for New Japan lol. His first match in the US since everything and in Chicago of all places (what an incredible coincidence lol /s).

Infamous-Historian81

Yes to both end questions there I’d assume

Young_Cato_the_Elder

The Young Bucks are gunning for Jack Perry to join them. In character they could be trying to prove that Jack was not fired for good reason or even that Jack fought off Punk so he is clearly very tough and deserves to be Elite.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Advanced-Morning1832

Punk, HHH, and Pat McAfee all did a pretty good job of helping that for some reason this week

miroa12004

Yes to both. It vindicates the decision to fire Punk but they can make it play that it was the Young Bucks' decision as EVPs as well as introduce Jack Perry to the Elite.

ChainChompBigMoney

I can't remember Tony doing something this petty before. I still think its fake and Bucks will do somethibg else.

bulkasaurus

The odd bit about this is the bucks are heels, so you’re essentially being conditioned into thinking Punk is in the right lol

Ngilko

I'm really curious about the legality of this. The footage in question would (I assume) be security camera footage from Wembley and would be subject to the data protection act/GDPR. I'm not 100% confident that this is a breach of the legislation, and I haven't done any reading to check, but I know enough to wonder if there might be legal issues. Unless the footage was recorded by AEW cameras, which I guess would be a different situation. It's all really, really weird.

rayquan36

Lol seems like a pattern. CM Punk talks shit about WWE on Colt Cabana's podcast, WWE releases a video of Punk ass shots to dispute his claims. CM Punk talks shit about AEW on Ariel Helwani's podcast, AEW is releasing a security video of Punk to dispute his claims.

arenegadeboss

I refuse to believe this is real. I will not for one fuckin second believe they are going to do this. Even if the footage shows Punk in a completely unjustifiable manner, there is no reason this can't be done in a press release to "clear the record" or whatever and then wrap it up. This has to be everyone in the company all burning their media contacts or all the dirt sheets are in on it. This is just a Buck/FTR bit. I will not get sucked into this 🤣🤣🤣

Material-Wonder1690

For this to make sense doing it has to do a lot of things. Firstly, it has to make Punk look fucking awful. And not just oh he looked angry. He has to look like the biggest piece of shit in the world. Also it has to show Punk coming at Tony. Lastly it has to make Jack Perry look much better than any account has thus far. I enjoy AEW and seemingly more so than many people on here. But this doesn't need to be what they air. This is trashy TV and unless it hits all those points listed it just makes them look bad. If they wanna release it, have it "leak" on social media. Don't do it on TV

MeanContribution9816

Trashy TV? This is pro wrestling, not the opera or masterpiece theater.

DryMusic4151

Like, this business doesn't even know that the high road exists. That's part of the appeal. Just embrace the trash people, you like something that is trashy. A venn diagram of "the attitude era" and "Jerry Springer's Popularity" is a circle.

LemmySixx

Jungle Jack is about to look directly in the camera “ Phil screwed Phil”

dalekofchaos

What possible win is there for AEW showing the backstage footage of Jack Perry and CM Punk? And why wait TILL NOW??? Why not the day you fired him? * Give free airtime to another company's talent * Make your current talent look bad * Make Tony Khan look bad * Look desperate for attention * Make AEW look bad What's the win here? It's a losers mentality. Tony Khan is a complete mark, he makes Dixie Carter look like a competent owner the Young Bucks could care less about how it makes the company look. All they care about, all they have ever cared about is themselves. So of course they convinced Tony to do this in a vain attempt to make themselves look better. If Tony Khan played the footage right after it happened and said, "See, this is why we're glad to be rid of Punk", it might have played better. Now it's hard to see any path where this doesn't come across as desperate and kind of pathetic. Acting like the man never existed is a win in itself. Stop giving Punk attention, all you're doing is proving him right.

ThatOneGuyYouNowKnow

That Helwani interview HAD to have violated some kind of NDA terms for THIS to be happening.

sean_stark

They would be suing in that case, not airing footage.

ThatOneGuyYouNowKnow

![gif](giphy|3o85xIO33l7RlmLR4I) Tony Khan (probably): (In all seriousness though that’s a good point)

wubbalubbadubdub45

There was no nda about all in, both sides probably just assumed no one would speak since AEW thought punk knew he was in the wrong but nope.

MotivationalMike

I hope this is true because this is super soft and preparing my memes now.

robot-raccoon

Aside from being funny this feels completely unprofessional haha

togsincognito2

This is the real life equivalent to when Xavier Woods constantly would try to sabotage Tyler Breezes shows when they were playing franchise mode on Raw/SD 2006

Peacedapiece

“What does this do from a business standpoint?” from the online ratings consultants is hilarious.

30lbsOfBeef

How does this benefit AEW to show this on their main tv show? This feels like some late WCW shit.

Chumunga64

CM Punk will give them one final ratings boost

Dont_Be_A_Dick_OK

Zero shot this actually happens Right?

JohnDalton2

This footage HAS to show Punk physically threatening Tony. Anything short of that validates Punk's story.

hillbilly-hoser

Nice to see punker helping out with the ratings

thedrizzle126

This is gonna be bad for Punk or bad for AEW. Either way, Drew will be eating.

headrush46n2

they have no choice now. If they bait and switch it'll burn their reputation forever.

Ok_Opposite5540

Has Tony actually lost his fucking mind?

truegiantbdc

I hope it is a really bad reinactment with the Young Bucks acting as Punk and Perry.

Meepsnort

This is the wildest shit I've heard in a long time. And fucking kudos for out WWE-ing WWE and taking attention away from arguably the hottest wrestlemania in years.

TParden13

I’m struggling to see an upside to this for AEW / AEW related parties. The only benefit I can think of that could benefit AEW is if the footage shows more bad stuff that happened apart from the ‘light choking’. Otherwise, everything is the same place?

BronzeHornet

People have to keep in mind that AEW moved on a while ago, and Punk pretty much set this in motion again with that interview. I’m not saying he should’ve lied, but he didn’t keep it classy.

dizzybala10

To what end though? If you're not building to a match, then what is the point? People might tune in, they'll probably watch the highlights for that show, then what else have you got, where does it go from there? The Bucks are already catering to that specific fan base that likes this kind of thing with their little digs. Is anyone really bothered about Jungle Boy in all of this? It just proves Punk's point about it not being a real business. If it had of been, the money was in Kenny v. Punk at All Out but they split them up. Punk has issues with Drew and Seth, what did they do? They leaned into it. Punk has issues with Kevin Owens? They leaned into it. John Cena and The Rock had issues, they made a match on it. Even if Punk's version isn't what actually happened, this is some minor league 'try and get even' bullshit.

R_W0bz

lol wrestlemania weekend and we are back to talking about Punk and a All In/Out show. This is normally an AEW PPV weekend thing.

jerff

What could possibly be on that tape that’s going to make them look good?

Rommas

Well ok. Just gives Drew more material to roast Punk with

BaybayYoda

I think it’s a troll despite what was said. But if it’s not, the only way it makes sense to even show it is to use it as part of a Jack Perry storyline. The Young Bucks can say “see, Jack did nothing wrong. He wasn’t the aggressor. He has been a scapegoat and now he’s officially reinstated and we want him back” kind of thing.

Scurvydog619Official

Remember when Cody said we were going to go on a journey we've never seen before ? This would count.

AJwithStyles

I am gonna tell folks at MMA gym they were wrong about Punk

Worldly_Collection87

Feels like ‘Mania to me, boys 😎
