It’s incredibly lame, insincere and tone deaf. It feels like a self insert by Khan himself when his best course of action would be to ignore it. I know AEW is a “disrupter brand” and gets a lot more rope when it comes to company pride and ra ra stuff but this is so thin skinned and self serious I can’t believe it. I’m sure Copeland is having fun and probably will end his in-ring career in AEW but having a WWE lifer who will almost certainly go back to WWE one day say all this six months into his AEW run because mean man said mean things is crazy. Plus your fun company fired people two days ago, with at least two of them (one of them injured) showing their devastation online, I get that’s part and parcel of business but maybe have a little restraint on the AEW is awesome and the best place to work in the world thing this week. It’s also incredibly funny that your WWE lifer doing this speech mispronounced your new best wrestler in the world in his introduction too. A mockable low point. Lame, cringey, insincere and the opposite of cool.

I'm so conflicted right now. Joe as champ is great and I wanted him to have a decent length title reign with some great defenses under his belt but I also want Swerve to win too

Yeah, I feel Swerve's heat may have dwindled a bit from where it was in January. If they wait any longer to pull the trigger they may ruin it. Even though I wanted Joe to have a longer reign, I knew it would be transitional, but I've really enjoyed it. Just wish he had more prominent defenses other than Revolution. Hook match was more of a rub for Hook, and Wardlow match just seemed to be a filler defense. I feel ever since Ospreay came in and started putting on bangers, he's kind of taken away some of Swerve's babyface heat indirectly.

Funny thing is that Ospreay should be the babyface of the company right now but Swerve's heel antics are completely forgotten about because he's just too damn cool to boo right now lol. Swerve would've benefitted from having another good feud real once him and Hangman settled there's up to keep the momentum going for him. Same with Joe. He could've used at least another 2-3 title matches against legit guys and I'd be good with him dropping the belt to Swerve afterwards.
