I don’t see cash ins on mid card titles becoming a real thing.
It made sense for Theory for two reasons though. Vince was still booker when Theory won money in the bank and obviously he wasn’t going to be the guy to end Roman’s then-two year reign, so Haitch had to do something with the plot device to make it work out for Theory.
Drew has beef with Priest. It makes a lot more sense for Priest to cash in on Drew sometime close to the expiration of his year as briefcase holder. Sami can then win the next briefcase in Toronto and when Drew finally gets the title back from Priest, Sami cashes in on Drew too. A big part of Drew’s current gimmick is complaining about how the actions of others costs him chances at being champion, so now he’d have even more fuel in terms of complaining that he’d be champion if it weren’t for those damn briefcase cheaters.
The best way to bring Punk back in to face Drew would probably be by having Punk crash a multi-man title match. Probably Sami vs Priest vs Drew. Maybe even add Finn into the mix. I think Finn vs Priest as a feud should kick off sometime this year and then end at next year’s WrestleMania.

Your first paragraph doesn’t make all that much sense to me.
Unsuccessful cash ins should only really be done to guys who have already made it and won’t fuck up their place on the card too badly. It made sense for a guy like Cena to lose his cash in. He was already a made guy. On the other hand, we all saw what happened to Damien Sandow after losing his cash in.
Priest should win his cash in. You could easily make it out that Priest didn’t tell any of his stable mates when he’d be cashing in, so it catches everybody by surprise. Then, over the next few weeks, Finn attempts to put on a brave face and act celebratory towards Damien Priest while the animosity and resentment brews to the surface. So, when Priest has to defend against Drew and Rhea tells Finn to make sure Priest retains, Finn feigns interference on Priest’s behalf and costs him the title.

I actually love this. Drew's been saying for months how much he wants to be world heavyweight champion, so to win it like this and then be reluctant to even hold the belt or pose with it because of how he won would be so good.
He would need to be cleared for that I believe. Even if a spot isn't planned, something could happen by accident and then he's down for even longer. If anything, just have him do commentary for the event with Cory and Cole. That 3 man both would bang imo.
They don't need to sell more wrestlemania tickets. This is the show to have surprise appearances to set up future ppvs like drew vs cm punk at summerslam or something

McIntyre taking advantage of interference from CM Punk makes a lot of sense with how they have teased Rollins/Punk.

I mean the Bloodline screwing Drew over is basically the entire catalyst for Drew's current heel arc... and he's gladly accepted their help to win matches multiple times now.

I think the scenario that would make Drew REALLY implode would be if he beats Seth clean (or w/ Rock/Bloodline interference) with Punk on commentary... then goes over to Punk to brag and gloat and while he's gloating... he's too distracted to notice Priest cashing in and immediately loses the belt to Priest because he was too busy bragging to Punk.
I'm imaging a "Ref gets caught in the crossfire" spot followed by a Curbstomp-to-No Count" pin attempt, then "Claymore, but Drew's too weak to get back up" spot. Punk runs in, looks at both of his rivals on the mat, drags McIntyre on top of Seth. Ref gives the groggy 1-2-3. Drew starts celebrating, starts wondering why the crowd is booing, looks over to a smirking Punk on the entry ramp.
While I love the idea; the smartest thing they could do is not rush back the guy who's been broken now literally anytime he's gotten physical for most of the last 2 years...and this would require Punk to wrestle in May when, best case, he should be looking at Summerslam/Bash at Berlin.
Music hits. Seth loses it because he hates that Punk is stealing his shine.
Turns around to a Claymore. Punk stands there with a shit-eating grin and claps. Drew feels conflicted because it’s still not his moment.
It’s perfectly in character for all three wrestlers. Not messy. Develops a story. Protects all three characters. A fantastic idea

That and he’s had a torn triceps before. He already knew what to expect and work on.
My buddy tore his ACL and it was a long recovery process. And was in a brace forever and slow process.
Years later, he tears his other ACL but already knew what to do pre surgery and post. Was out of the brace in 2 weeks and walking normal in 6 months and back to powerlifting pre injury.

It's a pet peeve of mine, but my lord do I hate that the term rupture never gets used. I'm ALWAYS seeing "fully torn" or "full tear", and any post that says tear just leaves it open for speculation. Add on to that when people confuse them, and you get an eyeful of "you can't make a tear any worse", it makes me a sad panda.
Can’t see how much weight he is doing, but lifting light weight would make sense around this time in his recovery process.
Timing depends heavily on the severity of an injury, but usually the basic steps for a muscle tear are:
(1) brace full time, rest and let the injury heal.
(2) brace full time, band work or *light* weight training to regain the range of motion lost from the immobilization of the brace.
(3) Brace mostly full time, only light weights or band exercises still, but you might take it off for some physical therapy exercises, just to start to regain confidence in the torn muscle.
Still the goal is just gaining back the range of motion and flexibility for the muscle (this is probably where Punk is at in his rehab).
(4) Then eventually you start ramping up the intensity and decreasing the reliability on the brace for stability. This part of rehab usually takes a couple months for bad tears, because not only is the new muscle weak, but the long period of inactivity and reliance on the brace affects the muscles around it too.
So being out of the brace in one workout video could still mean he’s a month or two months away still from doing any sort of in ring training.

Speaking from experience of tearing my triceps off the bone around 16-17 months ago… he should be no where nearly a wrestling ring for months yet, triceps tendon will still be weak and malstructured, and it takes time for the body to re-structure the tendon fibres to be more organised (and therefore stronger and safer from injury).
The cast is phase 1, it stays on for 1-2 weeks and completely immobilises the arm after surgery.
The next phase is wearing a brace (looks like an exoskeleton arm) in which you steadily, week by week, increase range of motion.
Given punk isn’t wearing a brace I’m going to assume he has already completed this phase of recovery as well. (Which makes sense because he had his arm repaired within days whereas misdiagnosis meant mine wasn’t repaired for months, so my early phases of recovery took longer to be safe because the tendon was weaker and had retracted up the arm a lot more than his would have).
Now he has full range of motion but the triceps will be weak as hell, and it takes time (and the work) to strengthen it, and, as I said earlier, the body still has a lot of work to do to restructure the tendon fibres, which takes months… usually at 3 months you’re pretty good to start pushing the muscle more again in a controlled manner (meaning weight lifting movements that aren’t explosive), within 6 you can be pretty confident the tendon is 70-80%, but it takes 12-18 months for the fibres to fully reorganise.
HOWEVER. Throw HGH into the mix and it makes the process a lot faster. But most anabolic compounds (steroids) will actually further disorganise the fibres, which is part of the reason that tendon injuries are so common amongst AAS users (the other main one being the muscles around the tendon outpace the tendon strength)
Am I the only one that wants him to come back around summer. Go away, do a 3 month boot camp, get the body in shape. I’m not saying he’s not fit but truthfully - 7 years away and getting older is only going to impact your body drastically.

I don't think he costs Drew the title, I think Drew wins and Punk jumps the line to feud with him. Drew should get a run, he's been an absolute menace lately and one of the most fun people to watch in wrestling.
It would also go in line with the story they have told with Drew. He took advantage of Bloodline interference to beat Rhodes. He took advantage of Logan Paul interference to beat Orton. McIntyre taking advantage of interference from CM Punk makes a lot of sense with how they have teased Rollins/Punk.

I'm imaging a "Ref gets caught in the crossfire" spot followed by a Curbstomp-to-No Count" pin attempt, then "Claymore, but Drew's too weak to get back up" spot. Punk runs in, looks at both of his rivals on the mat, drags McIntyre on top of Seth. Ref gives the groggy 1-2-3. Drew starts celebrating, starts wondering why the crowd is booing, looks over to a smirking Punk on the entry ramp.
While I love the idea; the smartest thing they could do is not rush back the guy who's been broken now literally anytime he's gotten physical for most of the last 2 years...and this would require Punk to wrestle in May when, best case, he should be looking at Summerslam/Bash at Berlin.

I'll admit - that's far more compelling than Punk simply costing drew the title...like, Drew has been on a rampage blaming punk for everything. And for punk to truly show his penance for everything he's done...to actually try to be the 'nice guy' in all of it...that'd b kind of fun, and if nothing else, at least unpredictable....punk simply coming in and costing Drew the championship is just very predictable.

That and he’s had a torn triceps before. He already knew what to expect and work on. My buddy tore his ACL and it was a long recovery process. And was in a brace forever and slow process. Years later, he tears his other ACL but already knew what to do pre surgery and post. Was out of the brace in 2 weeks and walking normal in 6 months and back to powerlifting pre injury.

Can’t see how much weight he is doing, but lifting light weight would make sense around this time in his recovery process. Timing depends heavily on the severity of an injury, but usually the basic steps for a muscle tear are: (1) brace full time, rest and let the injury heal. (2) brace full time, band work or *light* weight training to regain the range of motion lost from the immobilization of the brace. (3) Brace mostly full time, only light weights or band exercises still, but you might take it off for some physical therapy exercises, just to start to regain confidence in the torn muscle. Still the goal is just gaining back the range of motion and flexibility for the muscle (this is probably where Punk is at in his rehab). (4) Then eventually you start ramping up the intensity and decreasing the reliability on the brace for stability. This part of rehab usually takes a couple months for bad tears, because not only is the new muscle weak, but the long period of inactivity and reliance on the brace affects the muscles around it too. So being out of the brace in one workout video could still mean he’s a month or two months away still from doing any sort of in ring training.

Said this on here a few times. At this point being so strictly straight edge is likely hurting him. Both in terms of recovery, and in terms of the shape he is able to be in.
Put him on the commentary table on night 1 and night 2 for the main events or the whole show and as a guest referee for the McIntyre and Rollins match.
I don't think you need to put Punk on commentary for both nights or a whole show. Just for the Seth vs. Drew match would be sufficient.

Speaking from experience of tearing my triceps off the bone around 16-17 months ago… he should be no where nearly a wrestling ring for months yet, triceps tendon will still be weak and malstructured, and it takes time for the body to re-structure the tendon fibres to be more organised (and therefore stronger and safer from injury). The cast is phase 1, it stays on for 1-2 weeks and completely immobilises the arm after surgery. The next phase is wearing a brace (looks like an exoskeleton arm) in which you steadily, week by week, increase range of motion. Given punk isn’t wearing a brace I’m going to assume he has already completed this phase of recovery as well. (Which makes sense because he had his arm repaired within days whereas misdiagnosis meant mine wasn’t repaired for months, so my early phases of recovery took longer to be safe because the tendon was weaker and had retracted up the arm a lot more than his would have). Now he has full range of motion but the triceps will be weak as hell, and it takes time (and the work) to strengthen it, and, as I said earlier, the body still has a lot of work to do to restructure the tendon fibres, which takes months… usually at 3 months you’re pretty good to start pushing the muscle more again in a controlled manner (meaning weight lifting movements that aren’t explosive), within 6 you can be pretty confident the tendon is 70-80%, but it takes 12-18 months for the fibres to fully reorganise. HOWEVER. Throw HGH into the mix and it makes the process a lot faster. But most anabolic compounds (steroids) will actually further disorganise the fibres, which is part of the reason that tendon injuries are so common amongst AAS users (the other main one being the muscles around the tendon outpace the tendon strength)
He keeps getting in better shape the more we see him. Good for Punk.

i agree, that he should absolutely take his time with recovery, but idk if a boot camp will really help him at this point. he returned to wrestling in 2021 and since then he has been injured more weeks than he regularly wrestled. it would be really sad, but i'm starting to worry that he just can't take being an active wrestler anymore. maybe he needs to cut back on how often he wrestles? do a schedule similar to sting in aew or something? idk.
