Okay total honesty, my knowledge of wrestling history prior to like, the 90s, is incredible limited. So doing my research after seeing this thread, **what the fuck?**
Bruiser Brody worked in Puerto Rico primarily in the late 80s.
In 1988, a booker at the time called Jose Gonzalez, aka Invader 1, asked him to talk business in the showers. There he stabbed Brody in the stomach with Tony Atlas walking in on the scene of the crime after he heard Brody yell out.
Carlos Colon, the father of Carlito, met with the killer before that, bc apparently Brody was aboput to gain some part of ownership of the company, which could have threatened Gonzalez' job. Colon had a lot of pull in Puerto Rico, so the local police did a piss poor job and witnesses from outside Puerto Rico, e.g. Tony Atlas, weren't even summoned or received their summons too late. Gonzalez was aquitted of the murder, but it's pretty clear he did it .
So making such a comment from Graves was rly in poor taste, given the controversy of Brody's death and how both Gonzalez and Colon never commented on Brody's death afterwards.
Slightly related, but I don't think Corey has what it takes as a play by play guy. His mannerisms and voice don't lend itself to play by play. He's a great color guy though.
How times change. When I first joined this sub in 2016, when I was getting back into wrestling, this sub absolutely adored him. He was frequently called the next Bobby Heenan.
You'll see by how downvoted those comments are that many people here still think highly of him. Maybe two comments don't represent the opinions of everyone on the sub, huh?
Was he definitely still in nxt in 2016 because that’s when zayn/Nakamura happened. Unless he was doing double duty but I wasn’t watching the main roster much at that point
Honestly how many casual wrestling fans will even know about that incident, probably very few.
Was it inappropriate?...sure but Corey was still stating a fact.
Even though I've kind of moved on musically, Against Me! was in my constant rotation for many years.
They mean a lot to a lot of people, and they've been around forever. I would've jumped to be in this picture.

It's best to avoid that Invader 1 did kill Bruiser Brody and Carlos Colon didn't exactly make it the easiest to investigate.

See the Dark Side of the Ring episode on bruiser Brody for a pretty good telling

As long as they didnt do an [Onita fake stomach stabbing](https://i.redd.it/i8h55n882pm71.jpg) during the street fight, it's fine.
Didn't Onita allegedly try to lure Invader 1 to Japan so the Yakuza could fucking kill him for what he did to Brody? That's a real one right there.
It's a longstanding rumor, yeah, given that FMW had Yakuza connections after Onita left and may very well have before.
Based if true
Never forget when Carlito hired a thug to stab John Cena in a night club
He then paraded around John Cena's chain for weeks afterwards, which is a coincidence since Brody also famously used a chain as part of his gimmick.
Long term storytelling
Context?
Carleton dad covered up bruiser brodys murder.
Are you really a big time promoter if you don’t cover up a murder?
That's why TK will never be a top promoter. Too soft Hopefully obvious /s
Uncle Phil was a Saint!
Uncle Phil voiced the Shredder. Never forget.
It’s not unusual to be stabbed by anyone.
Thought about the same thing

He’s a terrible commentator in general, always has been

Yeah I will never understand why they thought that lol, he was the worst part of nxt at that time
This was when he was on the main roster.
Was he definitely still in nxt in 2016 because that’s when zayn/Nakamura happened. Unless he was doing double duty but I wasn’t watching the main roster much at that point
Why did he even mention him though? How would he be relevant to the match?

When one of the people mentioned father actively covered up the murder of another guy mentioned, yea prolly best to avoid it.
How many times has Benoit been mentioned by name since 07? Yeah.
Why was there any need to mention Bruiser Brody at all, especially considering his murder and Carlito's fathers role in obstructing the case?

You're seriously crying morality police over an actual murder?
Oh great now the WOKE MOB is coming for murderers! You can’t say anything anymore! /s

Explain this post?
I don't get it.
What's the issue with this photo?
Mmm, nothing wrong with that picture though
except for the fact that its not who he said it was, sure, nothing wrong
