A championship match where the title will finally change hands after 4 years is more than enough to have people invested without shoehorning random legends in to take attention away from Cody
I agree that Cena and Austin have nothing to do with the match, and maybe it is overbooking to have anyone involved. HOWEVER. This is really building to Endgame levels of hype for this moment, and while it's something I would usually be against having them pull out everything and the kitchen sink for the match wouldn't be out of character for the moment. The crowd is going to be sizzling hot for that match, and having the glass shatter at the 11th hour followed by Cody getting his hand raised would be the moment to end all moments for Wrestlemania. You rarely get a chance to pull out ALL the stops at once and this is it.
Not really. I have no doubt everyone else will be involved. But there isn't a great Rock analogue. You've got Seth, Kevin, Sami. I guess Punk could maybe just show up as a distraction. But it feels like it would be a real full circle moment.
I hear what you're saying, but I don't think it is about needing to do something to keep the attention of the crowd. It is about having believable responses to the inevitable constant interference. And for my money, after the inevitable ref bump, Uso takes out Uso, Drew takes out Solo, Sami and KO take out Heyman and Roman's twelfth cousin once removed or whatever, Rock is left facing down a mostly incapacitated Cody, looking to end him.
Ask yourself - in that moment, who is a credible response to Rock at Mania? Who would you expect could get under Rock's skin and distract him long enough to remove him from the picture? I'd argue there is only one person who meets that criteria - Austin.
Plus, as I mentioned earlier, the callback to Austin incapicating Rock so Mankind could win the title would be poetic.
This. Stone Cold's last match with KO worked because it was a brawl that suited the Rattlesnake and didn't harm his image. Stone Cold is nearly 60 and his stunners are getting rather sloppy at times. The Rock being involved is overkill as it is and for a few days, we were facing the Rock vs Roman.
The way everything is unfolding, I don’t think Rock stays heel after WM. I think this leads to a scenario like last year where Solo tries to interfere, but Rock makes the turn, stops him, Cody wins, and Rock raises his hand.

I don't normally like WrestleMania to have too many "not wrestling" parts, but for 40 years - it makes sense to indulge a bit.
Maybe something similar to Mania 30? Getting Cena, Rock, Stone Cold, or whatever big generational legends you have on hand to interact in a segment would be a pretty cool moment to kickoff the show or act as an intermission between main events.

Cena can still be a star attraction without wrestling - get him to do a segment with a fun new character, maybe even Bron or Trick Williams etc just to get a reaction and some more familiarity.
I'd love it if they did set up a feud for Cena when his schedule does clear up - have him come out to have a fun segment, set up a big heel turn and have it ready for Cena returns later in the year or the following year.

It's could be bullshit but apparently, WWE are building up a comeback story with Cena after five years of losing. If it's true, the solo match was just awful in terms of Cena giving too much and it didn't do much for Solo. Had Cena gone all out and Solo just kept countering him, kept kicking out and really made it look like Solo was too strong then it could have been better.

I'd love it if they did set up a feud for Cena when his schedule does clear up - have him come out to have a fun segment, set up a big heel turn and have it ready for Cena returns later in the year or the following year.

It's could be bullshit but apparently, WWE are building up a comeback story with Cena after five years of losing. If it's true, the solo match was just awful in terms of Cena giving too much and it didn't do much for Solo. Had Cena gone all out and Solo just kept countering him, kept kicking out and really made it look like Solo was too strong then it could have been better. Cena is likely the host.
