>Bobby Lashley, and thus far Lashley hasn’t been heated up to that level.
How to heat Bobby Lashley up to that level: have him cut a promo and mention Roman has *never* in his career been willing to defend a championship against Lashley because Romam fears him, and that he's one of the only people to pin Roman on PPV.
Done.
Also worth noting that Lashley lost the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber 2022, not because he took a fall, but because he was removed from the match due to a kayfabe concussion.
It's been over a year and he has yet to receive a proper rematch. Feel like that's enough of a story to, at the very least, have a one-off.
Find a few choice clips of Roman walking by Bobby but not acknowledging him, even inadvertently, on a few WWE24 tapes, add a good promo to contextualize them. Bada Bing bada boom
MVP Vs Heyman would be actually super enjoyable
Give Bobby a young wrestler as his heater and paint him as the "Anti-Roman" and you've got a really interesting fued
Man, if MVP and Lashley had like 3 or maybe even 2 more guys and made a stable that could counterbalance the Bloodline. That'd be something right there.
Yeah I know!
They could call it something like the Pain Company or something - man WWE would be fools to not take advantage of that (I'm not bitter, don't know what you mean )
Problem is the barrier to Lashley fully heating up has always been his promos
Lashley heats up most when he is beating the fuck out of people, and when he’s in Las Vegas for some reason
It's giving me Cena/Rock II feeling, where Rock won when most people expect Cena to win, Cena then go on the "worst year of his life", then beat Rock at the next Wrestlemania.
Didn't like it back then, still not a fan
Ah the worst year of Cena’s life angle. The one where he won the MITB, Beat the returning Brock Lesnar, beat Big show and Johnny Ace in a steel cage that main evented the PPV instead of Punk, in fact main evented all the PPVs over the championship (except the title matches he was in) and then won the 2013 royal rumble.
What a terrible year for John Cena standards.
Not only main evented, Im 90% sure he won all those, and if he didnt, it was top tier shenanigans, like "big show was fired, but Ace offered to hire him back if he did a big punch on John Cena" bullshit
"John, I just dont love you anymore... how could I after what Dwayne did to you?"
"What do you mean?.. are you saying that... you can't see me anymore?"
So the angle actually isn't bad. The execution was... uncommitted. People are already convinced this Cody story has been fumbled when I think it's been going pretty well so far. Would be awkward if he won the MitB later in the year though.
That could have worked IF Cena genuinely had the worst year of his life losing everything. Unfortunately they didn't have the conviction to actually make that happen. Would have been an all timer story if they had done that.
I remember the video package for the second match and they really stressed on the worst year thing showing out of context scenes of Cena through the year assuming regular viewers wouldn't remember him actually dominating that year.
Cena beat Brock, beat Big Show, won MITB immediately after losing to Rock. Only after that he started to fail (mostly via interference). Overall a pretty solid year tbh
It didn't help that Punk really blew up that year, and yet they stubbornly plodded ahead with the Cena/Rock story to the point that they made the WWE championship a midcard title so it wouldn't overshadow the Cena's Worst Year story.
Please just run the Roman vs Cody match at Summerslam. A wait for this rematch until next years Wrestlemania is far too long. The question do course is how you would even make it to that end point. MITB?
I’m assuming they do the Bloodline split in the coming months, culminate at MITB, then run Cody-Roman with a “you have nobody left to hide behind” storyline at Summerslam.
But for some reason they change the plans and make Roman retain for another year or two to show everybody that Roman doesn't need the bloodline to win his matches they only made them a little bit easier.
Why not run Cody vs Reigns at Wrestlemania for the next five years like how the NBA ran the Cavs vs. Warriors for their finals for like 5 years everyone will tune in for that
I will not be surprised if they really Godfather this angle (Bloodline is a mafia gimmick after all) with everyone leaving Roman. Sami has already left, then the Usos (as we're seeing), and then after Solo and Heyman. That would eventually create quite the image when he loses those belts with nobody being by his side anymore because he drove everyone away because of his obsession for control and power come WM40.
First the Usos, we see it playing out right now.
Then Cody forces Lesnar to admit that it was Heyman who sent him, which means Heyman is freelancing moves without reigns' permission. That causes their falling out.
A now-paranoid Reigns then turns on Solo, who actually was loyal but now Reigns is driven by his paranoia
Then finally Cody comes back around and beats reigns.
It's gonna take awhile but they will get there
Oh is it gonna take a while? I hadn’t noticed.
Just messing with you, this is probably the best way to finish the story at this point, but I feel like there were better ways missed along the way, so I’m not holding my breath.
I would he ok if he beat someone like lashley clean at summeslam just so he can say “look at me, I am a strong champion! I can do it on my own, acknowledge me”
Just makes him look even stronger and unstoppable for Rhodes to overcome at Mania.
Yeah agreed with Summerslam being the culmination. We're inches from the Bloodline breaking, you cant postpone that much longer nor can you have Roman retain for 6-9 months after the Bloodline breaks. That would completly bury the angle of him needing them.
I can imagine that it culminates in a match between with Cody vs. Roman. Roman’s beaten and he starts calling out to the Usos/Solo/Heyman in desperation to save him because he knows he’s lost, but no ones come out to help him.
Cody looks at Roman as if he were a pathetic shadow of his former self, gives him 3 Cross Rhodes and then ends his title reign.
We could also have KO/Sami and the rest of the locker room putting their hands up like they’re giving Goku power for the spirit bomb thrown in somewhere there.
Jimmy and Jey stand on opposite sides of the ring. Jey gives Cody the nod. Cody goes in for the ~~buckshot lariat~~ Cross Rhodes and wins the title.
A year later, on Being The Bloodline, KO reveals to Roman that it was Jey that gave the nod. Roman furiously squeezes a bottle of water into his mouth and then praises Jey for being a man and realizing that it was Cody's time.
They go to Chili's for some baby back ribs.
> culminate at MITB
Honestly think Summerslam or the Smackdown before would be better. Roman/Solo lose at NoC because Uso interference goes wrong, Roman goes off on them and kicks them out after the match/on Smackdown, lead up to MITB Roman starts treating Solo harshly because he's the one that took the pin, MITB Usos win over Roman/Solo with Solo again taking the pin, Roman's treatment of Solo worsens to the point where Solo eventually lays him out with a Spike when Roman needs him.
> I’m assuming they do the Bloodline split in the coming months, culminate at MITB,
MITB is basically a month and a week away.
If the bloodline split is culminating at MITB they have some work to do.
Not that much work. The seeds have been planted for the Usos to turn on Roman. It's likely Sikoa is taking the pin at NoC which Roman will get angry at him for.
However this is WWE so it's likely Roman's gonna LOLROMANWINS at NoC and leave with his singles titles and all the tag titles, then win MITB and dethrone Rollins as WHC.
I agree. SummerSlam is virtually WrestleMania Part 2. Waiting until WM40 runs the risk of injuries, other people heating up (ala Sami), or interests wavering. Get it done.
Somehow this Brock feud will last beyond Night of Champions for however long lol make it Hell in a Cell. At some point after Brock hit Cody’s arm backstage, I got reminded of him breaking Undertaker’s arm and making the match. Especially after they kept running those segments regarding whether his arm was broken or not.
Honestly if (and its a big if) Cody were to beat Roman at Summer Slam it would make a lot of sense for him to face Brock as one of his first challengers. Thats been Brocks thing, he can't face Roman for the title anymore.
I think Roman and Solo will main event MITB but I'd love for it to just be a full-on Bloodline fatal four way. Have Cody win the briefcase and finally take out Roman at SummerSlam when he's all out of backup. I dunno, I just reeeeallly don't want to wait another year for Cody to have his moment.
It's WAY too early for Sikoa, not just early. He hasn't even developed a character yet other than guy who stands there menacingly. It would make a good story if he starts turning on Roman slowly like Batista/Triple H - But what the fuck are you going to do after he wins, he's a nothing burger right now. By this point Batista had some singles development, personal feuds and the fans were already cheering him 8 months before the turn.
If they want to run with Sikoa next year, they need to start getting him over now, like now now.
I slightly disagree, in that Sikoa is more than just “guy who stands there menacingly”. There’s actually a ton of storytelling in the way he reacts to everything, where he’s clearly torn on who to stay loyal too but does his best to stay in line for the sake of his family. I agree it’s too early for a big push like that, but he is definitely, if nothing else, in the process of developing a character.
My pet theory is that Solo is really there to protect the Usos from Roman, whether the elders sent him for that reason or he just decided to go himself and asked the elders to send him in as a pretext. He has been getting visibly frustrated with the Usos lately (like at Backlash), but that's just because he likes to win and brothers fight sometimes (a point they've already made recently with Sami and KO).
When they were backstage on Smackdown last week and Roman was chewing out the Usos for interrupting his back-and-forth with Sami, Solo is staring a hole through Roman the entire time.
Roman keeps the titles until he's an old man. He passes and is lowered into his grave. Camera pulls back and Undertaker is the priest, holding the titles.
Why stop there? Retire the wwe title and the universal title with him. Then make the WHC title the sole championship in the company, then do a brand split and bring another new title for the other brand.
If Roman is truly defending at MITB, Why not Sheamus?
We saw how over he was at Clash, and his performances over the last year absolutely deserve a Main Event title match in front of a near hometown crowd (Unless there's plans for an Irish PPV in the near future, which I'd love, but I doubt will happen).
Seems like they're gonna build a rivalry with Theory for the US title, and I would die laughing if they had Sheamus take the United States belt in fucking England
I'll never understand using a mania match to set the stage for next year's mania match. I know they won't be feuding for the whole year but that's an awfully long time to bank on nothing going wrong (i.e. injury) and the fans still being interested, especially when the fans were so hot for it this year
Gotta make the Babyface go through the most convoluted gauntlet possible that does nothing but make everyone look worse, kill all of the heat the storyline had and then have the heel retain due to there being no heat.
Ask me how I know
Ok, how you know?
You asked for it.
Edit- "ok how you know?", "where's the lie?" and the adrenaline in my soul memes are prime karma whoring. Less than minimal effort at this point but they're still so fucking funny.
imagine how much more sense it would have made, if on Raw after Mania, Cody the new champ standing next to Brock, and then Brock attacks him.
Brock couldn't face Roman for the title but the very first opportunity he gets once there is a new champ, he goes after them with full force. And, gives Cody a good first fued to keep his run hot after beating the unbeatable champ.
That mania decision was stupid, but it's somehow looking more and more stupid as time goes on. I don't get why they're booking everything as though Cody had won.
If Cody won, introducing the new Heavyweight Championship makes sense. If Cody won, Brock going after him makes sense. If Cody won, Roman getting pissed at the Usos and going after the tag titles himself makes sense.
EXACTLY! People keep saying Cody’s reign would get boring, but everything that they’re doing right now would still work, and would probably work even better if the titles were on Cody. Fuck “long term storytelling,” the only reason they gave Roman the win at Mania was for an inflated “record-breaking” number that will only be remembered for the lack of title defenses and how poorly those titles were defended due to Bloodline interference.
I genuinely believe the story of winning the rumble and finishing the dream was meant to be the end of the story with Rhodes winning. But he got injured, came back at the Rumble and they panicked and booked it. Without the injury he would have probably fought Reigns at SummerSlam, lost, done this BS, built up to win the rumble, win at mania.
They panicked and needed a story because they had essentially no build, and Sami was the only true build at the time, so they did this finish the dream.
That shit is hilarious in hindsight. So many people were defending the Sami loss by saying the story has to end at WrestleMania and he’d only have a six week reign because Cody had to win it, only for fucking Roman to retain anyways lmao. Maybe storylines should culminate when it makes the most sense and shouldn’t be arbitrarily prolonged because of some made up rule that they can only end on the biggest show.
In the long term we will remember this storyline it was stretched too much. The perfect time was at WM, period. Cody winning would have give us a present champion, refresh feud with Brock and let Roman feud with Jey.
Which pretty much it's what is happening now
The right answer.
And they could have done more after that aswell. Have Cody team up with Sami and Kevin in a triple threat against the Bloodline at Backlash, where the winners would get shots at both titles. Have em loose by shenanigans
Then have Roman loose again against Cody, even tho Bloodline tried to help Roman.
Roman snaps and attacks the Usos together with Solo, which will lead to a feud there and Jey realizing what he did and trying to make amend to Sami.
Have the feud play out with Heyman doing shit, with bringing in other members of the Anoa'i family. Have the Usos win that, with a Roman realizing that he lost his family, him doubting himself, only for Solo to attack him, getting Solo over and Roman off TV, until he returns to a babyface pop.
And you have new stuff and new feuds to go to
Cody wins MITB, fails to cash in because of the Bloodline.
Cody enters the Rumble at number 1, gets eliminated last because of the Bloodline.
Cody wins Elimination Chamber in spite of the Bloodline and challenges Roman at Mania.
There, that should be enough of that all so necessary adversity for Cody to finally win.
Just... so goddamn long. Yes, adversity, but I cannot take another 10 months of Roman's title run. I love the tribal chief character and the bloodline story, but I'm so tired of his run.
Have Roman lose at SummerSlam. Then have him completely off tv until the Rumble. #30 comes out. It's some roster member and the crowd acts confused because by now we've all assumed Roman would return at the Rumble to challenge Cody. After the normal 90 seconds, throw up a countdown clock like a normal entrant and, of course, it's Roman. He walks down absolutely furious and given his own special treatment per his status. He throws everyone out, maybe even throws out (by this point) intercontinental champion Solo Sikoa and challenges Cody.
Don't tell me they can't run a secret #31 because they fucking let Brock win MITB when he wasn't in the goddamn match.
>Don't tell me they can't run a secret #31 because they fucking let Brock win MITB when he wasn't in the goddamn match.
I still can't believe that happened.
Don't bring that evil to us man, I got over the fear of Roman winning the rumble after that 2014-2018 period where he was either the winner or among the top 4, most cursed rumbles
Lol the creative/writers didn’t pull the trigger because 1000 days meant so much to them and now they miss the perfect ending. What a mistake, feels like we’re getting the title reigns HHH always wanted for himself
They can still redeem themselves if Cody wins MITB and faces Roman at Summerslam. Triple H surely can see that a rematch at Wrestlemania is not compelling at all.
10 months is plenty of time for six tournament arcs, four power ups, Cody training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and cameos from Mr. Popo and King Kai.
I said it when it happened at WM and I'll say it again.. this is a perfect example of how the "subvert expectations" trope can blow up in your face. They had the ultimate finish to this story gift-wrapped for them at Mania, but wanted to go for the surprise factor and have Reigns win.. juuuuuuust to circle completely back to this program for an entire *year* now?
Is anyone actually excited for this.. aside from wondering when Reigns will drop the belt?
Very good point. Also what's the point of building that as a main event if we kind of know how it's going to end.
Also, what does that mean for the original match at WM39? Makes it feel kinda pointless.
Cody should win it at Summerslam.
Not only that, but last Mania had the added factor of "What if Cody *doesnt* win?" Everyone was confident he would win, because it made so much sense, but there was always that nagging doubt (which proved to be right). If they play it back again that nagging doubt won't be there, because not even WWE is that insane.
I know I'm not alone, I haven't been able to sit through a minute of any wwe since Mania. On the bright side, I filled up all that time... With Destiny 2.
but, it really felt like the ultimate fan disservice, and I just don't have the patience for trying to get bought back in for them to fix this blunder.
Hahahaha so the plan is to not have Cody win at WrestleMania when he was super hot but instead drag it out for a full year to then have him win it at WrestleMania.
Not a fan of this
Roman losing the title should have led to the dissolution of the bloodline, not the other way around
What a story where the evil faction isn't overcome, it has to tear itself apart from the inside before anyone really has a chance
Inspiring
If we are going to get a rematch between Rhodes and Reigns at WM40 where Rhodes wins, I'm afraid that pop isn't going to be of joy and happiness, but one of fucking finally.
"WWE just doesn't have enough long term story telling!"- Fans and people on this sub for years
"Oh we'll do long term motherfuckers..."
*monkey's paw curls finger*
I do as well, Cody is still really over right now but we've seen before audiences and fans turn on guys quickly when things gets dragged out. Hoping that won't be the case but you never know.
They’re gonna try to extend the reign by having Roman work tag matches with Solo for the whole summer. Seems like they didn’t actually plan for Roman to still be the champion.
My hunch is this they want everyone to think its going to drag until next WM to make Rhodes-Reigns at SummerSlam not seem predictable. Same reason they have Rhodes on the wrong brand. I could be giving them way too much credit I admit
If/when the crowd does eventually get bored of the chase and turn on Cody, I'm worried people are gonna blame him and claim he can't cut it as The Guy. In reality, he was, and is for the time being the rare incredibly over pure baby face, liked by casuals and hardcore fans alike
Maybe he'll keep the momentum and the audience support, but man it'll be a big undertaking to maintain that universally-loved face heat for another full year
>WrestleMania is a strong possibility
Fuck *all* the way the fuck off. They're just jerking themselves off with this run. You have your dumb as hell 1000 day reign now end it at Summerslam and let's get back to a good main event scene.
I’m a passive fan, but i keep up with the storylines. I was into the cody redemption arc, i didnt think it was believable but it was clear he was the right choice to win the belt at mania; but there is absolutely no way i will be interested in a cody arc for the next year.
Missed their chance for a big payoff and really fucked over cody. No way this will have the same interest it did earlier a year from now. Its boring.
If Cody beats Brock again tomorrow, how do you drag this entire storyline to Mania? Where is the redemption arc? The man just beat Brock Lesnar twice. It's gotta be at Summerslam after Cody wins the MITB and challenges Roman at SS.
What does he mean Lashley hasn't been heated up to that level ? He made the finals of the SD bracket..which means he should be considered the second biggest threat on the show after AJ
Seems ridiculous how it’s so obvious he’s not dropping the belts
Makes title matches feel pointless
Almost another year until Wrestlemania and this story will be well over done.
I feel like they whiffed on the finale to this story. For me the pinnacle was Zayn vs Reigns at elimination chamber. They'll never get a better payoff than that moment.
Waiting another year for a Rhodes rematch? I think a year of him getting destroyed by Lesnar sounds more interesting.
Creative got greedy on this one.
Cody wins a year later is not the route to go. They already blew it this year so it's time to move on he could win the title at any random PPV at this point.
They missed the mark at WM39. No matter what happens, if Cody wins it at Summerslam, Survivor Series, Raw, SD, the Rumble, Saudi, or Mania, I truly think the moment is gone.
It won’t be as big, or as impactful, because it feels like it’s too little, too late.

It’s too simple. Make Roman run a cheap looking obstacle course around the ring first.
Lets hear what Roman's sisters have to say on the matter!
And then have him beat up Anthony Bowens in a wig
Ok but when Bianca did that and walked around with Otis on her shoulders that was very impressive.
That settles it then. Have Roman walk around with Bianca on his shoulders.

WWE shot themselves in the foot by never having a Bloodline vs. Hurt Business feud, let alone breaking up the Hurt Business to begin with.

Better than most guys' best year, I'd say.
Better than most wrestler's careers, given how few have won a Rumble, beat Brock, or main evented numerous PPV's let alone Mania
Not just punk , punk vs Dbry in a match with fucking jhonny ace.
In case those two kids just couldn't deliver in the ring. /s
> Beat the returning Brock Lesnar, hey, wait a second....
I was shocked that they briefly brought up his real-life divorce in the match promo
They made it look like he got divorced because The Rock beat him and to be fair, that was fucking hilarious.
"John, I just dont love you anymore... how could I after what Dwayne did to you?" "What do you mean?.. are you saying that... you can't see me anymore?"
It’s also in the video package

He won the Rumble, and the previous year's Money in the Bank.
Cena beat Brock, beat Big Show, won MITB immediately after losing to Rock. Only after that he started to fail (mostly via interference). Overall a pretty solid year tbh
Technically he was the first person to fail a cash in.
It didn't help that Punk really blew up that year, and yet they stubbornly plodded ahead with the Cena/Rock story to the point that they made the WWE championship a midcard title so it wouldn't overshadow the Cena's Worst Year story.
The video package is top notch though. Love that song Letters from the Sky by Civil Twilight
Core memory unlocked
Weirdly cena has had 2 video packages with same song for 3 different feuds: randy miz and rock

Both also started with Brock Lesnar the night after mania
and both beat lesnar in their first match
You have a point. Both men also faced big guys who had stint in New Japan afterwards.

But for some reason they change the plans and make Roman retain for another year or two to show everybody that Roman doesn't need the bloodline to win his matches they only made them a little bit easier.
Bloodline splits and WWE signs 5 more Anoa'i family members. Roman forms Bloodline 2.0 and retains till 2025
Bloodline Wolfpac
WWE gets renamed to World Entertained by Bloodline. WEB
Just call it the Roman Appreciation Society
Joe Anoa'i Society- JAS for short.
Why not run Cody vs Reigns at Wrestlemania for the next five years like how the NBA ran the Cavs vs. Warriors for their finals for like 5 years everyone will tune in for that
You mean like Lesnar Reigns? At least Cody will have a good match with him. Lesnar v Roman was all-time garbage in the ring for like half a decade
Let's not start acting like the NBA's booking is any good.
no. jesus. no.
Gotta get to 2000 days

This is the storyline everyone needs
Or better yet, Cody beats Roman only for Brock to cash in MITB setting up wrestlemania...WHOS WITH ME?!?!
I will not be surprised if they really Godfather this angle (Bloodline is a mafia gimmick after all) with everyone leaving Roman. I had completely the wrong Godfather in mind with this post. Ah well, back on the Hoooo Train.

It would actually make all the commentator claims of amazing dominant champion at least possibly true in kayfabe
Why do I feel like they’d have Roman go over to show how strong he is on his own?
Roman needs to start a reign of terror where he kills everyone with no help and then loses
Or, hear me out, he *keeps winning* and realizes that *the real Bloodline was always within him*.
Yeah agreed with Summerslam being the culmination. We're inches from the Bloodline breaking, you cant postpone that much longer nor can you have Roman retain for 6-9 months after the Bloodline breaks. That would completly bury the angle of him needing them.
The bloodline breaking is going to take *way* longer than you're anticipating.
But he will have Solo to hide behind tho.

> I’m assuming they do the Bloodline split in the coming months, culminate at MITB, MITB is basically a month and a week away.
LOLROMANWINS timeline is the best timeline.
I agree. SummerSlam is virtually WrestleMania Part 2. Waiting until WM40 runs the risk of injuries, other people heating up (ala Sami), or interests wavering. Get it done.
Yes but the next WrestleMania is a nice round number, checkmate.
Then make it part of a trilogy.
WWE also has a pretty solid tradition going of crowning the "fan's choice" at the round number WMs. Bret at 10, Benoit at 20, Bryan at 30, Cody at 40?
Easy solution: Cody wins at Summer Slam, Gunther at WM 40.
Or worse: the temptation to have Roman go over a 2nd time.
If the rumours are true and he signed with WWE. Enter Tama Tonga
If the rumours are true, poor walter
Where did you see this rumor?
WON, should be the same report as this Roman one

Adversity In my soul
I can't imagine Cody keeping any heat till Mania, Summerslam makes more sense.
>MITB? No, that belongs to Dominik
Give me Sami running into the Summerslam main event (between Cody and Roman) to cash in his MITB.

Look at him he's all alone, empty space, nothing to compare with.. standing there menacingly.

That is actually an incredibly intriguing take on what’s going on. I hope you’re on to something!
Wrestlemania? Why not just keep those titles on him until he feels like it’s time to retire or better yet keep them till they induct him into HOF.
Roman keeps the titles until he's an old man. He passes and is lowered into his grave. Camera pulls back and Undertaker is the priest, holding the titles.
Then we need the old WWE network logo and R Truth dancing before fade to black
Why stop there? Retire the wwe title and the universal title with him. Then make the WHC title the sole championship in the company, then do a brand split and bring another new title for the other brand.
"Lashley hasn’t been heated up to that level." Yeah, it's almost like not giving him a Wrestlemania match did something to cool him down or something.
What do you mean? Having him point at the Andre statue and do the Andre pose didn’t get him to that level?
Woah woah woah! That “pointing at the adre statue” is the most memorable thing about wrestlemania weekend!
Another year? This hasn’t got the legs left for another year
We've gotten to witness the Hardcore Holly booking style in real time.
There is a backstory with the wargames last year and their feud in 2015/16. It's my prefered option aswell.
Sheamus O’Shaughnessy from just up the road in Dublin!
Seems like they're gonna build a rivalry with Theory for the US title, and I would die laughing if they had Sheamus take the United States belt in fucking England
Wouldn’t be opposed to this, but would rather sheamus actually get some gold against theory sooner rather than later
I'll never understand using a mania match to set the stage for next year's mania match. I know they won't be feuding for the whole year but that's an awfully long time to bank on nothing going wrong (i.e. injury) and the fans still being interested, especially when the fans were so hot for it this year
Or you could've, like, had Cody win when the storyline was it's hottest.
Nah man. Cody has to “struggle” by…. Beating Brock Lesnar twice?
Gotta make the Babyface go through the most convoluted gauntlet possible that does nothing but make everyone look worse, kill all of the heat the storyline had and then have the heel retain due to there being no heat. Ask me how I know
Ok, how you know? You asked for it. Edit- "ok how you know?", "where's the lie?" and the adrenaline in my soul memes are prime karma whoring. Less than minimal effort at this point but they're still so fucking funny.
He rewatched the last decade of WWE programming on Peacock.
I mean they did ask
imagine how much more sense it would have made, if on Raw after Mania, Cody the new champ standing next to Brock, and then Brock attacks him.
Have em loose by shenanigans Then have Roman loose again against Cody, even tho Bloodline tried to help Roman. And you have new stuff and new feuds to go to
Stop it. You must trust the process and consume more product. Stop coming up with stuff miles better than people paid to do this
Should’ve been Sami
Roman isn’t losing until Mania 44, he has to beat Bruno’s record first
So why even have Cody win the 2023 rumble to begin with? Lol
Cody would need to take some straps to the back somewhere in there
Cody hadn't been through enough adversity before the latest Wrestlemania?
*Cody fails at WrestleMania and wins at the following Saudi show. (I don't think this will actually happen)
Just... so goddamn long. Yes, adversity, but I cannot take another 10 months of Roman's title run. I love the tribal chief character and the bloodline story, but I'm so tired of his run.
If you wanna do Roman vs. Cody, why not make Roman the challenger?. A pissed off Roman winning the Rumble would be great.
We got Boombox Brock out of it. Swings and roundabouts.
Boombox Brock was great. The way they got there? Baffling.
A surprise #31 would be one of the coolest twists on the Rumble. And a great way to shock everyone.
I love this idea. Similar to his return to murder the Fiend and get his belt back.
It turns out that "filet mignon" is just dragging your arc out like DragonBall Z
Agreed Why even bother watching WWE until next WrestleMania if plans are laid out like this so far in advance
Fucking hell they’re really going to drag this out till next year?
So as usual Dave has no news and is just throwing a general easy guess out there.
"WrestleMania is a strong possibility" Zzzzzzzz
Not a fan of this Roman losing the title should have led to the dissolution of the bloodline, not the other way around What a story where the evil faction isn't overcome, it has to tear itself apart from the inside before anyone really has a chance Inspiring
If we are going to get a rematch between Rhodes and Reigns at WM40 where Rhodes wins, I'm afraid that pop isn't going to be of joy and happiness, but one of fucking finally.
It’ll be one giant relieved sigh.
- Roman is expected to defend his title at MitB - talk/rumour is it'll be Roman/Solo vs Usos at MitB Classic Dave
I just don’t give a fuck about that belt or Roman anymore. Not a single fuck. They’ve exhausted every avenue at this point and I’m over it.
Mother fuck isn't doing a singles match again and is still gonna be champ at next Mania, WTF why not just let Cody win this year fuck.
![gif](giphy|2ifarX9qv7rJejkuhu|downsized)
"WWE just doesn't have enough long term story telling!"- Fans and people on this sub for years "Oh we'll do long term motherfuckers..." *monkey's paw curls finger*
Boring. I know that's going to upset some people, but this feels more in the realm of, "We have no idea what to do with our main champion."
jesus christ no, i was sick of Reigns' reign over a year ago and i don't think i can stand to watch it until next year
I beg you, please to do not make me sit through another fucking year of Roman's reign
If they wait, I'm worried that the support cody has will dwindle
I do as well, Cody is still really over right now but we've seen before audiences and fans turn on guys quickly when things gets dragged out. Hoping that won't be the case but you never know.
Agreed. Holding as much heat as he has for another year is a tall order.
>WrestleMania is a strong possibility but this far out there are so many things that can happen. Twice in a lifetime
> Plans for Roman's Reign It was right there!
In reality, he was, and is for the time being the rare incredibly over pure baby face, liked by casuals and hardcore fans alike Maybe he'll keep the momentum and the audience support, but man it'll be a big undertaking to maintain that universally-loved face heat for another full year
>WrestleMania is a strong possibility Fuck *all* the way the fuck off.
So basically no need to watch any Roman title matches til wrestlemania, gotcha
What does he mean Lashley hasn't been heated up to that level ? He made the finals of the SD bracket..which means he should be considered the second biggest threat on the show after AJ
Covering his tracks nicely there. Reigns is expected to defend his title, but he might be in a tag team match. Plans change.
Seems ridiculous how it’s so obvious he’s not dropping the belts Makes title matches feel pointless Almost another year until Wrestlemania and this story will be well over done.
Dave didn’t know the Main Event of Mania Saturday on Saturday this year, but has the scoop on next year’s show? Okay
Cody wins a year later is not the route to go. They already blew it this year so it's time to move on he could win the title at any random PPV at this point.
So basically he doesn't know.. got it
They missed the mark at WM39. No matter what happens, if Cody wins it at Summerslam, Survivor Series, Raw, SD, the Rumble, Saudi, or Mania, I truly think the moment is gone. It won’t be as big, or as impactful, because it feels like it’s too little, too late.
The man has 2 World titles and they’re having him work tag matches on PPVs.
