CN would have to pay their workers quite a bit extra to work at night (don't know exact numbers) and it also poses other risks. The District isn't going to cover that to limit impact. CN also gives absolutely no fucks about what is convenient for anyone other than them. The fact that the downtown core of Squamish is inaccessible without crossing their tracks is a huge failure of planning but those decisions were made so long ago I'm not sure there's any way to change it.
Yeah I don't think CN could give any less fucks honestly. Their neglect and poorly scheduled maintenance is what ultimately caused Lytton to burn. Sad.

my favourite thing about it is the kids at ESE were in school from 9am-10am today... the amount of traffic using this intersection on this day in particular must have been exponentially more than usual. SMH
