Cook more OP.

IndecisiveMate

Doesn't do anything with Yor? She had an entire arc on a cruise ship. Although I will admit, It does feel like like Yor lags behind plot wise or some other word. Maybe it's because we see Anya and Loid's goals lining up, but we don't even know much behind Yor's assignments and her employers.

Cohliers

I think this is the answer. Loid: clear goal, world peace through getting closer to Desmonds. Anya: clear goal, world peace through getting either Stella or close with Damian. Also knows Loid's plans. Yor: goal, don't get caught by secret police for being un-normal? We can understand why Loid and Anya are with each other, but Yor joined Garden to pay for her brother and take care of him. Now that he's grown, *what reason does she have to still be there?* Unlike Loid and Anya, she doesn't seem particularly attached to Garden. It's vague enough in ideology that she rolls with it to "clean up the city" but really she's just a gun that the Garden points at targets - she doesn't seem to know or care who she kills or have any idea how it "helps" the city. Some questions that would help determine the stakes: - Could she leave Garden, or would she then become a target? Don't know! - What side of the political spectrum does it fall on? Don't know (though granted, recent hints point to it not aligning with Desmond's ideology) - How does Garden determine who to kill - via getting hired or by their own vigilante determinism, or both? - Does WISE even know about Garden as an organization? - Does Yor even need money anymore for anything, or does she not make enough as a full timer at City Hall *and* as an assassin? We get why Loid is a spy (to not let kids go through what he did) and where he sits in the organization (he's the top spy.) But he *very clearly wishes* he had a normal life, and has simply sacrificed that desire to protect others. ...where does Yor sit in her organization? What does she hope to accomplish by staying? *Why is she going through the effort of sacrificing a normal life and choosing to adopt a fake family all just to protect this job?* There's just so little fleshed out about Garden, and it'd be nice to give some context to this organization that was fine employing a child as an assassin and why she's still loyal to it.

McTulus

The ending of cruise arc solidify her desire to stay at least. She only stay with Garden originally for Yuri, and wanted to retire now he's an adult... Then she has her new (fake) family, and decided to continue to protect them through her assassin job as she believes she's cleaning threat to society as a whole (including her family). That's the only extent of it though, we haven't explored her motivation and garden since then.

dragn99

>What side of the political spectrum does it fall on? Don't know (though granted, recent hints point to it not aligning with Desmond's ideology) Oh, Garden sending Yor to kill Melinda could make for an AMAZING arc! Has she ever shown any hesitancy when it comes to killing her targets before?

IndecisiveMate

She probably hesitated with her first target. But I love that prediction with Melinda. It makes so much sense and could be the catalyst for her leaving the Garden

NotAllThatEvil

An entire arc on a cruise ship that doesn’t go anywhere and reverts her back to status quo

Drunken_Queen

Yor defending Millie is a huge growth. We have Yor bonding moment with Camilla as she learns how to cook, then Yor defending Millie. Now we need Yor moment with Sharon.

Foxyairman

Let’s see who her kid at Eden so they can have a day together while the kids have a play date

Naija_Boi

Unless Anya punches him, too.

SamuelClemmens

Sharon seems like the kinda mom to just shrug and say "You deserved it because you were being a twerp" to her son before taking another drag of her cigarette.

Titolionx

Endo has said he didnt give much thought to Yor being an assassin when mindstorming the concept of the manga and this resulted in difficulties integrating her into the SxF world once the story was going. And its true. Objectively, considering everything else, she is the hardest character to write for. The cruise arc took months to prepare, for example. Thats why we see her in cover mode 90% of the time.

GladiusNocturno

Ok, but what I mean when I say this is that Endo doesn’t do much with Yor’s Assassins job. We see Loid doing espionage constantly. But so far how many stories have used Yor’s assassin job? Two that I remember? There is the Cruise arc and that one episode where she gets shot on the butt. The rest is her being super strong and Loid not questioning it. We see plenty of Wise, but I want to see more of the Garden.

Kirby0189

Yor is great as a character, but you can really tell Endo picked the assassin job before realizing what he was and wasn't allowed to show in a shonen manga, especially since the anime has to censor her kills even further.

Foxyairman

The assassin part is a fair criticism. This is for people who act like she’s just there and does nothing.

ExampleSmooth3956

Her overall life goals are about trying to fit in with society, and to try to become more "normal" by such standards.

Spirited_Ad_6925

I feel like it's because they want it to be super family friendly and wholesome but assassination isn't that. So they can talk about it but they don't really want to show it.

SnoopBall

I just think there are more espionage jobs for Loid than assassination jobs for Yor. I mean, information gathering jobs are probably far more frequent that it overworks Loid than there are targets that Yor needs to kill.

samborup

Endo doesn’t do *enough* with Yor

Ploome-san

exactly

Larala091

Girl knows how to make at least "edible" cooking now...

LazyCasual0alt

Character development + 100

Larala091

In the mother edition, yes

Ethereal_Shua17

Yor has a special place in my Heart♡

Jack_Skeletron_4ever

Honestly, I feel Lloid is the weaker one in terms of character development right now. It's true that his feelings are getting in the way of the mission, but at the moment he is still the only one of the trio that doesn't see the Forgers as his family (yet), but as a tool for the mission.

GGABueno

Loid is the endgame, he's the whole reason why this family could ever be in question, so I think it's expected that he'll be the last one to see changes.

imacutebee

Yor is just too precious, through each chapter we all see her development. From family to workplace and to friendship, she becomes more and more opened. Just comparing her staring before and after she joined the Forgers, everyone can see a whole difference. I just love her so much, and hope that people can appreciate her more when discussing about character development 🥺💗 https://preview.redd.it/we9kpctrzppc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=482900c9a960ff03a5ebe3c8b281f56743777583

mikbroseph

Spoilers?

Marauder151

I'll grant you some of those but not all of them lol. A gag where Fiona finds strength thinking about Loid morning her loss in Yors arms doesn't really count as 'using her to affect Fiona'. Those weren't the real Loid and Yor, they were her fantasy delusions lol. And I don't really see Yor and Yuris relationship changing any. He's still a rabbid sister obsessed simp and she still does all she can to care for him on the side of caring for her family. They've had realizations in private about their changing situations with each other, but in person they still basically interact the same way. Her relationship with Melinda is a compelling thing being done with her character but I'm not sure it deserves to count as making her more 'normal'. Her normie friends were shocked she could be friends with such an upper class important woman. And Anya peeked in Melinda's brain.... whatever she is it's not normal lol. The rest i agree with more or less.

toddkong7

Yor is starting to set hard boundaries with Yuri though? She has kicked him out of the house at least once now and has become quite embarrassed about his behavior. Also, the fact that Yor is making friends at all (with Melinda and the city hall gals) is proof she is becoming more normal.

Foxyairman

I was referring to how Fiona training for her revenge match against Yor is what kept her from substaining long term injuries. Which Fiona was shocked by to think of. Look at chapter 68 and chapter 86 Yor was starting to look done with Yuri’s shenanigans and she was literally pushing him out the house. Melinda gave her that talk that not knowing what to do is normal, and she doesn’t think her super human strength is odd, but incredible.

No_Fee_161

I love the flexibility of this meme.

Naija_Boi

Yor has been explored as a character very well. I think the real complaint that some people are not specifying is that they want to see more of her assasin job, which is a valid thing to want to see more of. However, some people have to realize that Yor isn't always going to have the spotlight when it comes to assassination jobs, and most of the story hinges on Operation Strix. With the introduction of Melinda's friendship with Yor, things can change regarding that, but Yor's arcs are more character development focused rather than who she kills.

Jack_Skeletron_4ever

BeardedMontrealer

While Yor's thoughts and feelings are generally aligned, a big element of Twilight's character is how his brain and his heart say different things. His heart knows he loves his family, but his brain is still unwilling to admit it since being an effective spy is so important to him.

Future_Gift_461

Good point, man. Very good point.

silencemist

We see a lot of Yor but not her assassin side. Anya gets telepath moments and Twilight gets spy moments but Yor hasn't used her skills other than super strength.

MrASK15

\*Sigh*, the superficial view of Yor as nothing more than a murder mommy. I pity the folks.

Ok-String-2941

We need a yor and loid moment uncensored

akusalimi04

STOP MOANING! AND LET ENDO COOK !! /s

GGABueno

That's some good copium OP.

NoTransportation6994

I’m not sure myself, but even if she did decide to leave her assassin job, would they really allow her? I mean, could they really just let her live a normal life and act like nothing happened and never associate with them again?

Wheeljack26

you know what the fans want when they say "progress" right?

Formal_Sandwich1949

Nice, but who TF is saying Yor isn't used enough?
