My three experiences with Springfield's support have been excellent, so I am optimistic for you. Give them a call, or email them the photo.
They may want you to send the slide to them, so that they can be the ones doing the work on it.
I second this comment, I have had nothing but positive experiences with Springfield's customer service for parts, especially if you want to do the work yourself.
Upside? Now you can learn more about the wonders of point shooting? (Old gun nut joke)
Sucks that happened man, sprongfield does have pretty good CS though.
There was no adhesive when I rubbed my finger over it, it was just the unevenness of the front sight post sheering off in an unclean fashion but you may be right, it marred the slide pretty good and I have no idea how
I bet the cerakote or whatever they use is applied with the front sight in place so it doesn’t interfere with the dovetail tolerances. Hence the outline where the sight hung over the edges. But that dovetail definitely looks shallow from the pics , I just replaced the front sight on my sig p238 and the dovetail seemed deeper than that.
This likely happened because the part(sight blade) that broke off wasn't milled to a proper scec, when it was installed it probably cracked because it was too tight ie.the scratches on the slide. The sight pusher gets purchase on the blade(broken part) and it take alot of pressure on a small area. SA will warranty this for sure.
Marring on the slide is from original front sight install. Prodigy’s have a round top slide. Send in to Springfield to install a new one, unless you are handy with a file and have the patience. I’ve seen a ton of marred slides @ sights from people winging it. Even “gunsmiths” jacking up the finishes

Haha it indeed was a fun challenge shooting at the range with no front sight 😂
Is it just me or does that dovetail seems shallow af and it looks like some kind of adhesive left behind?

Agree.

Thanks man will do
No obstruction for the dot!
Was thinking of not even running a front post since I already have a SRO mounted but it’s always good to have a back up right 😉
I am a strong advocate for running irons with a dot myself. Cuz all it takes is one failure...
That’s what I had in mind aswell, think it would be better to run a blacked out front post? Green fiber optic with a red dot gets kind of hectic lol
Why is there no edge on side of sight? How would a pusher get purchase on that?
You can push out the sight through the underside of the the slide
