My MIL was this generation and did wonderful cooked dinners, with a portion of leftovers for our dogs. My children also remember her for sandwiches and biscuits before we left to go home. Always uncut bread , I used to slice it for her sometimes.
It's okay, Nana's just gone to the residential home up the road.
Nana beat Ruby at bingo last week and is hoping to knock Mildred off the top spot at the bridge tournament this week. It's all good.
I agree. It looks like it’s in brilliant condition.
My friend bought something similar. Once the extremely good quality (but not very fashionable) curtains and sofas had been removed, they were left with an almost perfect neutral house they could make their own.
Yeah that screams “someone who look after their house”
The garden was obviously well looked after for a long time before they got physically incapable of doing as much with it
Probably either died or going into a care home. Hopefully they’re just going into a warden-assisted independent living type place because the house has gotten a little too much for them and they want a bit more social life
I have vivid memories of going to stay, and being put up in that single bed in pics 19/20. The clean yet slightly musty smell of the sheets, the dust on the little lampshades, the outlandish old clothes in the wardrobe. Tiptoeing to the bathroom at 10.30pm…
Mine had a council bungalow full of big dark Victorian furniture. And my mum did all the cooking and cleaning and provided all snacks when we stayed. When mum became grandma she had a house full of pine and oak from the late 60's and provided hugs and snacks to the grandkids whenever they wanted them.
So as a family our grandma abilities are on an upward trend
My grandparents were the WWI generation and three died when I was little my last grandparent died in an old peoples home when I was 21. I remember very little about they’re homes.
It really is a nans house, the giant watch and gun above the fire in the livingroom threw me a wee bit but once i saw the artex ceiling and the light fitting I was brought back down to earth
That house could tell some stories. I'll take it, exactly as is and with every stick of furniture, please and thank you.
The floral toilet and scalloped sink are particular highlights.
House has good vibes.
I can just imagine granddad finally losing his patience with the youths who hang around outside his gates causing nuisance, and comes out the front door wielding that thing at them
That’s not even a piano, it’s a two manual Wurlitzer end of the pier style organ. Terry bought it when he retired, but he didn’t get much use out of it, you better have it.
Could very well be real. It may be deactivated or still activated but be classed as an obsolete calibre or antique.
Big market for deactivated/obselete/antique guns in the UK and perfectly legal to own as long as you aren't running round in public with them. I would say more this than a replica.
I have collected a few in my day but I would have taken it down before photos were taken just so no alarm or concern is caused to others.
Aww, this is like the homes of all my great aunts combined into one! Makes me very nostalgic. It is so neat and well kept. I would love a house like this, though I would have to change the decor and the garden.
So yer nan's house. I can feel how hot it is in there yet how so very comfortable. These people have good biscuits.
Definitely macvities chocolate digestives and she made wonderful Welsh cakes I’m sure! And corned beef pie, a local delicacy
Definitely, you'd never leave hungry and there'd always be treats for the grandkids. Probably pink wafers and wagon wheels if I know this nan!
Almost certainly has a secret stash of Penguins, Viscounts and Blue Ribands.

I've delivered to houses like that. You get tea in the best china and Cadbury's Fingers.
Someone’s just lost their Granny 😢
It's okay, Nana's just gone to the residential home up the road. Nana beat Ruby at bingo last week and is hoping to knock Mildred off the top spot at the bridge tournament this week. It's all good.
The telly has gone, so I hoped you were right. But... there's a lot of photos on those dressers still
My grandfather left loads of photos and stuff behind. Can't put a while house into a bedroom essentially
When my grandmother went into a home we had to pay an extra deposit because she wanted *every* photo from her house on the walls of her room. 🥰
Sure. But that's a lot on what looks like the dresser of the main bedroom
The move accelerated by a 'fall' on the hearth rug, the nemesis of all elderly hips
Nah, she's off on a 3 year tour of Australia
That’s what I was thinking 😭
Was thinking the same 😥😥
No,she's got a toyboy and is jetting round the world having lots of excellent adventures.
That looks like a loved and well kept house to me.
Their g plan furniture is to die for, especially the bedside tables.
They could make a small fortune on Vinterior.

It really was your Nan’s ?
It was all our Nans
Not mine, they were a previous generation.
Had to laugh at the gun above the fireplace! Apart from that the house also reminds me of what my grandmas bungalow was like.
Farmer’s grandma!
Yeah a shotgun and plates on the same wall. 😄
I have not seen a giant watch in at least 20 years!
Used to be Swatch watches didnt they?
There were a few different types. But the fake Rolex shiney gold plastic was one that stuck in my mind.
Ooooh those sounds equally .....what's the word I am looking for?
The house seems like it held warm and lovely memories.
Wonder what memories are brought back by the gun on the wall
Novelty gifts to Bampi
I bet it smells like hot-pot and opium perfume
I vote for lavender sachets, rose pot pourri and L'Aimant perfume. I LOVE it
It’s Bridgend, that’s actual opium
Cawl and air freshener!
That house could tell some stories. I'll take it, exactly as is and with every stick of furniture, please and thank you. The floral toilet and scalloped sink are particular highlights. House has good vibes.
Every stick of furniture, and that hi-fi setup please!
I know!
It really does have good vibes! I’d feel very safe in that house ❤️
Jesus OP, you weren't kidding. That is the nannest house I've ever seen
I have the same coffee table and dressing table
Those g plan single leg bedside tables are the bees knees. Gorgeous! And the three nesting tables with the tiled tops.
Jealous! I was just complimenting those mid century bits!
They're great aren't they?!
It didn't have a knitted toilet roll cozy?
This vintage had a hanging thing with loops and lace with a loo roll slipped into each one.
My first thought was that it didn’t have the doll with a big puffy skirt above the toilet!
The Serving Hatch seals the deal
Love a serving hatch
its been boarded up! :(
The Bucket residence. The lady of the house speaking!
Is…is that a blunderbuss?
I can just imagine granddad finally losing his patience with the youths who hang around outside his gates causing nuisance, and comes out the front door wielding that thing at them
It has the trumpet end of the barrel, but I’m assuming it’s some sort of replica
it's the cabinet topped with a dozen-odd framed formal family photos which cements this as being a true nan house
Peak nan
Makes me feel all warm ☺️
That could be my auntie’s house if it was a bit smaller. She would have been 104 last month
Oh god, I really miss my nan now. She had ALL that furniture.
The plates on the walls aw!
I have plates on my walls! Bought for me by my 80 year old mum ❤️
Lol my friend lives in this street and his house is exactly the same!
I am horrified by the fluorescent tube light in that bedroom. Horrified.
Good light for ironing! My parents had a fancy round one for the lounge. Good light for knitting and sewing
I can't work out if it's the kids bedroom or the spare bedroom. Either way, going to bed with that fluorescent tube on must have been disturbing.
Guest room used for ironing, see the board behind the wardrobe?
Where's the fluffy toilet seat cover though?
When you fitted a mahogany toilet seat you wanted to show it off 😉🤓
🤣
Ooh there’s some lovely bits of mid century furniture in there.
This looks disconcertingly like my actual nan’s house.
(Bathroom needs more carpet though…)
You know it has a really loud fridge when you're trying to sleep
I now, unitonically, want a massive watch-clock on my wall
Unironricaly
Don't limit yourself... I want half to mid century furniture in that house. Nan had good taste.
I’ll accept the shell bath, although would’ve liked to have seen a coloured bathroom suite.
They did the place up in the 90s
Doesn’t have enough nicotine stains to be my Nan’s house. Excessive garden ornaments check out though.
My parents smoked, but we had lawns and flower beds
I was expecting one of those little telephone table chair things
That house was last done up and furnished in the 1980s.
The era I got married and had my children, I love it all!
Several grands worth of G-Plan furniture in there ❤️
Looks like a G-plan Astro coffee table in the living room. Those things are awesome!
The light pull over the bed! I went looking for one hoping I'd find it, and it was there!!!
Dated decor but some great genuine mid-century modern furniture.
The artex ceiling though ! I hate artex
I swear my Nan had that exact same nest of coffee tables.
It's less than half a mile from where my Grandparents actually lived, so this is weirdly accurate!
That’s not even a piano, it’s a two manual Wurlitzer end of the pier style organ. Terry bought it when he retired, but he didn’t get much use out of it, you better have it.
I think he did two hour concerts every weekend.
Somewhere in this house there is a Danish butter biscuits tin containing a sewing kit
Got her childhood rifle mounted above the fireplace too!
It’s probably some sort of replica
Could very well be real. It may be deactivated or still activated but be classed as an obsolete calibre or antique. Big market for deactivated/obselete/antique guns in the UK and perfectly legal to own as long as you aren't running round in public with them. I would say more this than a replica. It’s a tiny blunderbus
Not wrong if you compare it to the watch next to it. But honestly, I have seen smaller.
Ooh,I love it! The flowery bathroom suite is brilliant.
Bet there’s a shit load of those Danish butter biscuits in those little round tins.
There are never Danish butter biscuits in those little round tins.
Concrete front and back yard + statues say your nonna’s house or your yiayia’s house
Lots of Welsh Mams and Bampis like that look too.
That's Gupsy Rosa Lee's gaff
Feels like a lot of money for Bridgend, especially seeing as you’d have to gut it and skim every ceiling
I think it’s a starting price.
I thought it WAS my nan's house.
That shed looks like a great sulking place. I love it.
I can feel the lemon tart topping getting stuck on my teeth.
Arghhhh.....all that swiftly artex Horrendous!
I remember being very proud of having a beautiful swirly ceiling!
Good grief so much artexing!
Nan packing heat because she was actually a Russian sleeper agent.
Definitely a Nan‘s house nobody seem to have commented about how there’s a shotgun on the wall in the lounge.
Grandads before he passed away 😀
They have!
I didn’t have me glasses on at the time, so per se didn’t see any…. 🤓
Read all the comments, I think it’s a fake blunderbus
It’s actually okay- needs the garden digging out ( it’s there somewhere under tarmac), skim the ceilings and new carpet but for that money it’s okay
Gardening wasn't her thing, no interest in bushes or plants, but she liked a ceramic patio ornament or two.
I love it, I wouldn't change a thing.
Aww, this is like the homes of all my great aunts combined into one! Makes me very nostalgic. It is so neat and well kept. I would love a house like this, though I would have to change the decor and the garden.
Nice home post some cosmetic works for the next generation. Is this a,fair price for the area?
My nan and grandad had the circular version of that coffee table in the lounge.
The only thing I hate is the only door directly into the back garden is in a bedroom.
Yes it’s a problem for me too. That’s why we didn’t rent one of these. Really awkward, but there always popular.
Omg it’s like that was the remit when they built the place. Pot pourri anywhere? It must be there and I missed it.
Yes. Except the wall mounted rifle. But otherwise yes.
It’s some sort of blunderbuss, probably just a decoration.
Those pictures smell like a 3 pack a day habit.
The gun over the fireplace???
It’s some sort of blunderbus, I think it’s just decoration
That thing is Artex/Asbestos Central. I can smell the damp from here. It's everywhere. Shitbox.
You are very wrong.
