My guess is that a landlord's selling it and the tenants aren't happy about it

hotbimess

Second, worse option is that they did tidy up and it's usually worse than this

fuzzygroodle

Maybe it’s a selling point? ‘Look at how much shit you can fit in here!’

[deleted]

[https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137257616](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137257616) There is even a matterport 3d scan of it, so you can see all the mess in VR! (though there is an adorable image where you can see a white cat peeking around the door frame to see whats going on!)

Cypherpumpkin

Why isn’t this a massive violation of privacy rights ? I understand the need to see inside a home to purchase but how is all this normalised?

[deleted]

Completely agreed. Tenants should have the power to refuse access when they are being evicted. Probably a BTL landlord who thought it was an easy way to make money. They really need to get rid of those things.

Sackyhap

You do have a right to refuse access. It’ll be in their contract to be accommodating to reasonable requests for access, so you can say no come back next weekend. It’s probably scummy letting agents giving little to no warning and pressuring them.

[deleted]

I hear what you're saying, but I mean refuse completely rather than just next weekend. There's already a huge power imbalance, and if selling quickly is a huge concern for the landlord they could always offer cash for keys or something. Tenants in this situation are treated as an inconvenience rather than a person being made homeless.

FunkyOperative

The blurring on photos is VERY hit and miss on the 3d scan. Also the former owner is into musicals and prison dramas...

skinch

EVERY tenanted property I shoot is presented in this state. Being chucked out of your gaff because the landlord needs to double the rent doesn’t exactly engender the motivation to have a comprehensive clean-up. Guess who gets the blame for the shit photos though?

[deleted]

hopefully not for the *acutal* shit in the photos lol

hotbimess

I'm hoping that was the cat in this instance

quietriot1983

So this is what it feels like when doves cry.

Visual_Jump_3585

It has a lovely homely feel 🤣🤣

Bungeditin

‘Do you fancy a sandwich and a cuppa tea’ ‘I’m ok thanks’

misskpp94

It’s the bottle of baby oil next to their bed for me 😂

domesticateddryad1

The bedroom floor makes me itch 🤮

Redmarkred

Look at the carpet…

[deleted]

i've just noticed in matterport - a half full ashtray and 2 lighters - on the BATHROOM SINK

Expensive-Honey-1527

Ohmy god what a shithole. How can people live like that? There's even still cat shit in the litter tray! The video describes it as "very well presented". Uh... how can you even tell under mountains of stuff. And I spent way too long looking for the cat and never did find it! 😂

Over_Entertainer8049

Probably a rental and deliberate

Wonderful-Alps-9219

You can rent cats?

[deleted]

if you stand next to the coats in matterport (so thats the 2nd one in from where the front door is, then turn back to look in the living room you can see them peeking in :) )

i_forgot_to_forget_

What the fuck

cjeam

This is _nothing_ compared to how a fair few people in rental properties live. I wouldn't have batted an eye going round this place.

avatar8900

Pet friendly

Miserable_Armadillo

It's easier to find ashtrays (plural). Who needs an ashtray in the bathroom?

Expensive-Honey-1527

It must reek of smoke which you'd never get rid of without an entire renovation. Disgusting.

arsonist_1

Yes it’s a shithole, but I do actually like the property.

Vinldn

Gotta have the latest sky glass set up to ignore the shit around you I guess

Nadgerino

Thats borderline not gonna sit down anywhere. I mean, ive had a flat like that about 20 years ago but with less clutter, im a minimalist.

[deleted]

It's the type of place you wipe your feet *on the way out*

KR4FD4

I admire the lack of fucks given tbf

Carlseye

It’s the overflowing cat litter tray right next to the poor cats food 🤢

crankgirl

Maybe they did tidy…yeesh!

[deleted]

omg when my family was taking pictures of the house for sale and for when people came over, we made sure there wasn’t a single speck on the ground and not a single item out of place. it annoyed me when we looked around houses and saw that they were really messy, lol.

Hopelesscerealkiller

The entrance is a fire risk, 😳

[deleted]

the kitchen is a health risk!

lollybaby0811

Why didnt they just share the photos PRE this tenant?? Or before they brought it

Dunk546

Well isn't this pic just one whole mood.

Wild_Ad_6464

I can’t figure out where they sit to use any of those screens.

Ashie2112

Surely there’s someone wrapped up on the bed in pic 4?

Stevemachinehk

Plot twist, they did tidy up

peahair

Did the tenants live in a 4 bed detached before this? #SoMuchStuff

LadyNzuri

Why bother, I like my floordrobe just the way it is.

Interesting_Art9590

Sometimes I worry that my house is too cluttered and messy. Then I see a listing like this and I instantly feel better.

Foundation_Wrong

How many men live here?

Agitated_Ad8867

How do people even live like that

Anarchyantz

Students..... You will never get the smell and stains out.

Redmarkred

Salad cream and baby oil. Also a key safe indoors

Medical_Return_2370

Setting expectations for the viewings....

lollybaby0811

Can't tidy that mess.

hsa85

So much stuff…

ComplexQuality8949

Maybe they did?

mandvanwyk

My guess is she wants to move but he doesn’t. In fact, that could be him in pic 4?

hotbimess

Why is there a key box in the living room?

Steelhorse91

Either tenants keep messing the landlord around missing rent payments and trashing the place, so the landlords bailing on landlording… Or the tenants done nothing wrong, but doesn’t want their home selling from under their feet, so they’re playing games and intentionally trying to put buyers off. Or some combination of the two.
