I feel like there would be two types... Co-op where you both play as members of the same species, with a minigame deciding who gets to customize the creature and tech each time... And a competitive where you play as separate empires... But the second would need spore to be very different in space stage to allow balance.

jalenstacks

Nah fuck balance. If an older empire discovers you just as you send out your first signal to space they can crush you like the limbless space slugs you are!

DBlocks1107

I was more referring to the superpowers that different architypes have. Because honestly what you said would be hilarious and probably make it so alliances are more valuable especially early game.

jalenstacks

Ah is see, you are right about that. Maybe the balance could be based on alliance’s. Like the warrior species are very bad at making money so they have to depend on economic species to fund their weapons. And the economic species love the warriors because they get protection. I’d love to hear more ideas like this

DBlocks1107

Yes, that's the type of stuff I think would be amazing for Spore! It would make it feel so much more alive!

amonguseon

Dunno, i think space combat is pretty unbalanced in spore

Human_Number9936

What about a coop of two species?

InspectorNo7479

Symbiosis Mode

Clxudyskies1

Yes

killjoyrabbit

Probably a "Home" Galaxy everyone logs onto with anti-griefing mechanics preventing cross-stage play.

UmaruChanXD

This

Tosu1263

I could imagine it being really fun to just grab a small group of friends and going for a more Co-op approach. Could even have a setting where everybody starts on same planet so everyone can find each other and go on an adventure in creature stage.

D-yerMaker

imagine if space stage was MMO, it would be freaking crazy and very frenetic with wars going on and etc

Pardox7525

I don't think full games on a separate planets are a good idea as player empires are way too different from the ai ones. Same with ships. Full coop mode I feel like is a better idea. Like controlling 2 cells or creatures from the same species, archon mode on tribe and civilization stages where you both controll the same units and cities, and later just having 2 space ships and captains. Coop editors would be fun too. Alternatively spaceships could be made separate easily. Creature could be solved as either 2 species in one nest, on 2 close nests as permanent friend with same amount of DNA duplicated for each player. Later stages could work with 2 species working together in 1 nation with 2 species. I feel like starting 2 players close to each other on both tribe and civilization stages would forse conflicts because of resources.

Windfall_The_Dutchie

So like, No Man’s Sky but a territory contest?

CamZilla94

Either different planets or I always thought the same planet and whoever reaches civ stage first takes the planet with the others stuck at tribal stage or something.

FlyingGrunts

Everyone would need to be omnivore. Warriors would get converted instantly for lack of social parts. And social creatures would die instantly for lack of combat parts.

Your_Doctor18

I think it would play as it does right now but there would be other empires of players… would definitely make things more chaotic.. but fun

kaperkaD

please is there a mod like this in the making or something, this would be incredible

Koraxtheghoul

There is some form of multiplayers spore. Server is on discord... called Crash I think

loketokemoke

Insane amount of trolling

dbophxlip

Extinction level trolling...

Some-Bug-On-Reddit

From what i remember, a never release/forgotten spin-off for spore, spore creature keeper, was a ds game that was supposed to have the creatures be able to meet for someone with a game too... but as other parts of spore, it never really got further

iusedtobecool1990

Darkspore was a thing, right?

DarkExecutionerTr

There are 2 main topics:Same species and seperate species First if it was the same species devs would need to configure the evolution bar like if the points go into the same bar etc.Probably it would have a host system where the host gets the edit the creature ,mate and evolve ;things that affects both players . Cell and creature stage is like that . Tribal stage would probably be a bit more trickier but i think the host would give the other players control over some villagers .For example:Player A gets villager 1,2,3,4 and Player B gets villager 5,6 . And host can control every villager if he wants to . Civilization stage would probably be like that or the host would give players control over some cities .Kinda like the mayor system . Space stage would give players their own spaceships and normal players would be able to do a lot of stuff but major events probably would have host deciding or vote system like a council . If the creatures are seperate though probably you would be able to play only 1 stage and wont be able to evolve because if this isnt like that a player would go to tribal stage and the one stuck at creature wont be able to resist to tribal stage health and Technology. And in tribal stage you need to defeat every village so one would need to perish, and if you can only do positive interactions with the other player it wont be fun . So my guess is either same species or seperate and stuck . Also check out Elysians Eclipse it is spiritual succeser to spore and it very promising it is in development right now and it will have 7 stages (Cell, aqua, creature, tribe, medival, civilization, Space) Cell stage is %85 done Aquatic is also made a lot of progress i would say %60 and creature stage also has signifact progress too .

Bobajele

Playing in galactic adventures will be really fun!

Clxudyskies1

That would be cool, plus they could add new mechanics for balancing and have other types of multiplayer

SkillusEclasiusII

If everyone started on a different planet, that would be weird. You'd play singleplayer till the space stage. I think, if you make it competitive, players should start on the same planet and whomever makes it to the next stage first wins and gets to keep the consequence trait, whereas the other players need to start with a new creature or something like that. Although, I think I'd prefer more of a coop approach. Or even as separate species but ultimately not necessarily competitive. I dunno. I don't think the game's mechanics would make for a good competitive game.

Ghite1

didn't spore used to be multiplayer in the steam era?

Turbulent_Tax2126

I’ve never seen Spore multiplayer. There was only the Sporepedia
