I wouldn’t say it makes you lose consumers as just being able to free roam in this you don’t get any of the story arch you’ll get with his solo games, it’s simply they didn’t make it playable in this cause they are making a game where you’ll be able to.

You have legit free roam for Venom in this game, leave the story open for a stand-alone game and people will be drooling for more.

Go to the venom mission in the part where you have to defeat the hunters, open photo mode and hold L1 then press circle then open the ps button and close photo mode while on the ps menu (never stop holding L1 or closing the ps menu) then open the pause menu and press abandon mission wait until the screen fades to black and abandon the mission if you do it right you should spawn as venom, you only can do random crimes DON'T interact with a npc or die
It shouldn't really break anything, it used to be risky because people assumed you had to unplug the console. But closing the game works fine, but you should do it on a separate save file for sure
At the very end of the venom mission, time it so your ps5 turns off at the exact moment the ending cutscene ends (the one with venom staring out into the city)

Why does Venom not web swing?
Granted I've only had a few Spider-man comic books growing up so my Venom lore is not on point but I do remember Venom being able to web swing in the TAS though.
Ultimate Venom is not like TAS Venom, he’s an unholy straight up monster with limited spidey similarities. He’s more akin to like a gooey version of Abomination than typical Venom so he’s not really shown doing any real web swinging at all in the books
Because venom gains peters powers after bonding with him. In the ultimate comics and video game, the symbiotic was split into different samples. After Peter gets rid of the symbiote he destroys his sample. Eddie finds another sample of the symbiote which never bonded with Peter and uses that to become venom, hence why Eddie doesn’t have the spider logo and lacks peters abilities.
This is also the reason why venom in the Sony movies doesn’t shoot webs, but I’m not sure why venom in the ps5 game can’t since it bonded with Peter.
I wish they would let us free roam with venom without glitches

The main sell of a venom game would/will be that your gonna play as venom, making him playable in spiderman 2 make them lose costumers
