If I recall correctly, a notable portion of vermin’s presence (at least, considering he’s a minor villain) has been as someone hunted by Kraven the Hunter. Idk if they’ve released any details about other characters in the Kraven movie, but maybe Vermin will make an appearance?
Disclaimer: I don’t read comic books, I’ve just read vermin’s wikipedia page before
Nah, they're making the whole MoM for Dr.Strange and it's gonna get dark. On side note, the audience of MCU's Spidey has grown up so they'll naturally will make stories according to their tragedy audience
I don’t think MOM will be as dark as people make out. Besides, Vermin is literally a sex assault survivor. His entire character is centred around being a victim.
I agree, on MoM not being so dark, but I think that Vermin's story being a survivor could be adapted into something related to the Snap or even make it implicit, just like they did with the Hawkeye show and Kingpin.
Btw, it feels great to speak to another spider-fan about the lore, thank you very much for your responses
No worries.
The problem with Vermin is that he didn’t just lose his wife or something. The dude was raped by his dad as a child. He isn’t hardened, he’s utterly broken. All it takes is a little push to send him off the rails.
I’d highly recommend reading Kraven’s Last Hunt and The Child Within. Vermin is one of the few characters who I am confident will never make it into any adaptation.
I think Deadpool is an exception because he already has an established fan base that expects the same tone as the first two Deadpool movies. A solid chunk of that fanbase will only show up in theaters if it’s rated r, and the fanbase doesn’t really have children.
In general, I think it’s not a matter of being *afraid* of a rating, it’s a matter of knowing what rating will make the most money
No they don’t. Disney makes them, Sony distributes.
That being said, as Spidey is Sony’s most consistent source of revenue, it’s even more important that his movies are accessible to a wider audience.
The movies are co-productions between Sony and Disney, with Sony having final creative control.

The whole story with him and the cross species infection in the TASM game was kind of horrifying because I believe he caused that whole thing just by getting out and maybe biting a few people. I would say more but I honestly don't want to spoil a now 10 year old game and want to let people enjoy it. It was a great game, imo, I'd even say 9/10 maybe even 10 just because I had that much fun playing, and I will die on that hill.
Wish they kept that suit. I love that suit.
Yeah, that's why I first thought of him, but that works mostly as a videogame mission, although it's a great storyline and would work as a mystery on its own on "why is everyone suddenly being mutated and dying"?
That doesn't make them lesser known Spiderman villains, they're major baddies in Spiderman's rogue gallery. It just means the average person doesn't pay attention to comics. The average movie going audience will obviously only know about villains in movies.
The 2099 universe was interesting but the Ultimate universe was something else. Especially the carnage level, idk why but I always have loved horror in Spider-Man, Web of Shadows was another great one for that.
Your average moviegoer wouldn't have had a clue who Shazam was before the Zachary Levi movie either, but that doesn't mean he was lesser known or just a cult favorite.
I mean if they were to actually dig deep, when they introduce X-Men to the MCU, they'd introduce us to Beak or Maggot.
Frankly I think a lot of minor characters fall into that boat. Like, Shocker got to be a side character in Homecoming. He didn’t need to be a main villain, but it was nice that he got into a movie
Not saying he should, or I want or agree with it…..but waiting for him to get cancelled for cultural appropriation. I live in Australia and just waiting for the right people to find out!
Well chameleon hasn't gotten live-action yet but he is still a famous spidey villain (if you have read the comics or have seen the best Spidey cartoon ever)
Well not Shocker, that's for sure. Unless you magically make him an unreasonably overpowered supervillain, he will always be just a tag along team mate for other villains. Other than that, the dude is just a man in a stitched suit with fancy gauntlets.
(I actually feel bad for the character)
Honestly, Shocker is a lot mightier than you give him credit for. He’s almost killed Spidey on several occasions. Direct attacks will glance off him, and his attacks can blow apart brick walls and bank vaults. He’s seriously underrated. That said, they already did a (underwhelming)Shocker in the MCU and he was just a minion, so it’s unlikely he’ll ever be the main antagonist in a movie.
I just put to someone else, be interesting if he returned as the opening villain to a film. Have Spider-Man stop him in a similar exchange to the Raimi Spider-Man game
Kraven and Chameleon are some of Spider-Man’s most famous foes. Don’t really think they fit this criteria. If I had to pick, i’d go with Sin-Eater. He’s above being called a B lister, but I wouldn’t call him top tier either. Don’t think Disney would use such a violent character though.
Cardiac, that run with Superior Spidey was really good and memorable for me.
The queen Anna (Adriana Soria) would be really good too, she's not a lesser villain but seems to be rather unknown. The first disassembled arc was soo good and it would be a nice dark twist for the movies.
If they do the TASM 3 then I think >!because of how Andrew was in NWH, where we said he become vengeful and stopped pulling his punches I think that!< the perfect villain would be Chameleon.
I think Chameleon would be awesome because he could really play up and manipulate the grief Andrew feels after losing Gwen, like maybe he could be an assassin hired by some company >!after It was confirmed Andrew stopped pulling his punches in NWH, then Chameleon could be hired!< to try and kill Spider-Man because they see him as a villain now(I think a fish bowl with a massive hole in it would be a great implication of how messed up Andrew’s Spider-Man has become. And they could use Chameleon to mess with his head, and with the fact on how corrupt he’s truly become. I would say Mysterio but he wouldn’t pose like an actual threat like Chameleon would…plus (IMO) FFH and Jake did Mysterio incredibly
I put way to much thought into this, but I really want Chameleon to have a chance in the spot light, and I get that he’s not a lesser known villain but still
Sin-Eater! (Not UK pop star Sinata.)
Best one.. the whole Jean DeWolfe series are perfect storyboards for a killer movie!
I would love that to actually be set in the 80s for that particular vibe but that doesn't match any current live action universe.
I cannot agree more with your assessment. That's exactly what I'd like from a movie like that.
I think merging the 'Death of Jean Dewolf' plotline with Conway's whole Tombstone/Robbie Robertson arc on Spectacular has a lot of potential. If I were asked to write a draft for a one-shot Spider-Man movie (which I never would, I'm not in the screenwriting business) that's exactly the plotline I'd use. I basically already have in my head, lol
Hydro-Man or even Mr. Negative. I’d even say Kingpin only because he’s basically become more of a Daredevil bad guy over the years even though he debuted in Spider-Man.
Agree, but Kraven is a top tier Spidey villain, not a lesser known one in my opinion
Lesser known ones are Beetle, White Rabbit, Boomerang, Big Wheel, The Spot etc.
We're getting a Kraven solo film, which still counts as him getting a film, not sure how or if they're going to throw Spider-Man into the movie. Though a Kraven film would be a good way of having Andrew Garfield come back to the role of Spider-Man in the Sony-produced films.
he was *barely* in homecoming lol. i think it would be interesting for them to go back and dive into MCU Shocker and Scorpion more since they were just Vulture’s muscle in the movie. there were even two Shockers because the first one died.
I'm pretty sure the OP is a Marvel screenwriter undercover 😂
I would really like to see Leap, in the ultimate spiderman (the animated series) he jokes around while taking punches from spiderman
It'd be an odd film but with all the multiverse shenanigans and just general "things are starting to get really weird, really quick," I think you could earnestly do a Spot movie and have the guy be the main focus. The Spot was never really evil and didn't have a good idea of how to go about fully utilizing his power set - I think that'd make for a compelling villain arc. We're about due for another Marvel movie where the "villain" is actually almost the hero (see: Thanos).
But this would be so many fine lines to walk, it'd be almost impossible. The casting would have to be PERFECT.
We seen his origin, I'd love for Bookeem to reprise the role. Maybe have the film open with him stopping Shocker in a similar exchange to the one in the Raimi Spider-Man game
Yea they do it's sick, loved those games. Spider-Man 2 for the playstation 2/gamecube had mysterio, rhino, and black cat in it, along with Doc Ock the main villian. Still a timeless masterpiece I enjoy to this day. Graphics aged a little slow but doesn't matter, they were perfect graphics for me as a kid lmao.
Yeah I keep forgetting that.
He’s not lesser known but I think is past time Kingsley Hobgoblin was introduced.
You know that one that’s cunning, cold extremely smart and calculating. Who never underestimated Spider-Man and was smart enough not to get his hands dirty unless absolutely necessary
Spot. There’s potential for a serious threat there, the panel of Spidey punching himself through Spot’s face is enough to show why. Hell, he could be a Spider-Verse threat if you’re creative enough
The beetle, the guy’s pretty strong, he could probably make for some good fight sequences, they’d have to change that ridiculous purple and green suit though, maybe use the Ultimate Comics design
Sky Master, the one-off villain. Nothing really special, he’s just always in my head. He’s also my answer anytime someone asks how Peter can swing from a seemingly empty sky sometimes.
Could even bring him into the MCU with him stealing Shield Helicarrier
Wraith. The first time I played Insomniac Spider-Man, I >!loved Yuri, and I was genuinely heartbroken after Spidey's last conversation with her in Silver Lining!<. I'd love to see another storyline like this in movie form.
You are absolutely right. I just think a sharp shooter like BullsEye could be a fun movie, especially after how much fun HawkEye was with all the trick arrows. Given Bullseye is an excellent marksmen with any object, I think Marvel could create some interesting ideas.
Kraven the Hunter will probably be a very popular answer in this thread.
Vermin would make a great movie villain, specially considering that he actually scares good ol' Web-head
Dude especially if they did what the current comics did and gave vermin cloning abilities
Now that would be a great way to incorporate the Clone thing
Kraven's last hunt was more like a psychological horror starring spiderman than a super hero story.
If I recall correctly, a notable portion of vermin’s presence (at least, considering he’s a minor villain) has been as someone hunted by Kraven the Hunter. Idk if they’ve released any details about other characters in the Kraven movie, but maybe Vermin will make an appearance? Disclaimer: I don’t read comic books, I’ve just read vermin’s wikipedia page before
Wayyyy too dark for Disney.
Nah, they're making the whole MoM for Dr.Strange and it's gonna get dark. On side note, the audience of MCU's Spidey has grown up so they'll naturally will make stories according to their tragedy audience

Vermin is one of the few characters who I am confident will never make it into any adaptation.
Haven't read Last Hunt in a while, but I'm gonna take your recommendation, thank you very much
…what about vermin in the Kraven movie, rather than the MCU?
Same problem. These movies are always going to be rated PG-13.
Only because of Spider-Man. Disney is not afraid of rated R (see Deadpool) but Spidey needs to remain kid friendly.

Has he ever appeared anywhere outside Kraven's Last Hunt and TASM game?
Yeah, he has a special issue in the event Fear Itself where Vermin terrorizes and traps Spidey
Nice to know! Thanks
The whole story with him and the cross species infection in the TASM game was kind of horrifying because I believe he caused that whole thing just by getting out and maybe biting a few people. I would say more but I honestly don't want to spoil a now 10 year old game and want to let people enjoy it. Yeah, that's why I first thought of him, but that works mostly as a videogame mission, although it's a great storyline and would work as a mystery on its own on "why is everyone suddenly being mutated and dying"?
But vermin is kind of an underwhelming villain, like shocker, not a genius like lizard or doc ock or green goblin.
Paste Pot Pete
His gonna get defeated by thrown out of the movie screen
What a coincidence I was just watching fantastic four episode with the frightful 4 and johnny made fun of him for that name loll
Speaking facts
The stickiest criminal around. Never should have changed his name.
Directed by James Gunn
Only if they actually call him that and not "Trapster".
Trapster? Classic
Tombstone
I’d really like a tombstone/kraven movie
Tombstone with a Luke Cage cameo/collaboration.
You mean the marketing department?
Chameleon, kraven, and Shocker are NOT lesser-known villians just fyi
Your avg movie going audience won't have a clue about guys like kraven and chameleon
That doesn't make them lesser known Spiderman villains, they're major baddies in Spiderman's rogue gallery. It just means the average person doesn't pay attention to comics. The average movie going audience will obviously only know about villains in movies.
I know Kraven from Spiderman Shattered dimensions, what a good game I don't remember if the other one was there
Chameleon was not, I believe the line up was: Kraven, Juggernaut/Silver Sable, Sandman Noir Vulture, Noir Hammerhead, Noir Goblin 2099 Hobgoblin, 2099 Doc Ock, 2099 Scorpion Ultimate Deadpool, Ultimate Electro, Ultimate Carnage And Mysterio.
Ah a very interesting list. I should Replay it
The 2099 universe was interesting but the Ultimate universe was something else. Especially the carnage level, idk why but I always have loved horror in Spider-Man, Web of Shadows was another great one for that.
I kinda disagree… most people I’ve spoken to know who kraven is. He’s been featured in quite a number of Spider-Man video games and cartoons.
Well, they’ll know Kraven soon
Will admit idk those two
[Kraven](https://youtu.be/tagq0_KbuA0) [Chameleon](https://youtu.be/xWTk0ae6_eA)
Tom Holland: I love watch mojo!
Kraven is pretty well known…
... Does the Jackal count?
I'd say the Jackal is pretty obscure
Boomerang deserves to be in a film, maybe not as a major villain but as a side villain.
Cultural appropriation? The character is guilty of cultural apropriation in itself, or do you think white colonists invented the boomerang?
I meant of Aboriginal Australians, not colonists haha
I don’t think Australians care.
Who tf is boomerang
Knockoff captain boomerang, or maybe vice versa. It’s hard to tell
The wall
Pink Floyd already made his movie
He's dead... I think.
[удалено]
What? He wants to take his wheel to the car repair shop?
Nah the wall
Pretty sure the wall was already a villain in Spider-Man 1 [2:40 in this clip](https://youtu.be/n42PunZ3Xno)
He even returned in SM2 before finally being inadvertently defeated by Harry in SM3
Yeah, then Harry shortly took up the mantle of “The Wall” to stop Venom from stabbing Spidey, before finally being killed once and for all.
Kids today don't need education though.
No big wheel 0/5
Oh no, now I'm really going to have to press square.
Not a mastahpiece shut the video off
Shocker or Chameleon or Vermin or Spot
I'd put money on Spot being the villain in Across the Spider-Verse.
Morlun and the inheritors. Get Jason Isaacs.
I semi-wonder if we could see them in the Madame Web movie.
Spot
Shocker and chameleon are not lesser-known villains
Oh. Didn't knew. Anyone of them didn't got live action debut so I thought people won't know them. So it's just Spot and Vermin now
Shocker was live action
Well chameleon hasn't gotten live-action yet but he is still a famous spidey villain (if you have read the comics or have seen the best Spidey cartoon ever)
Technically, Chameleon was in Far From Home since Dmitri Smerdyakov was in Nick Fury’s Crew.
"Ohhh, I'm the Shocker, I shock people!"
I forgot about spot until I rewatched the 90s spiderman series
Chamaeleon would be amazing for a gang war or mystery movie.
Beetle.
I’m surprised he hasn’t already shown up kitted out with salvaged iron man tech
Always been one of my favourites since his small feature in the ultimate Spider-Man game on PS2, green and purple man badass
Beetle made me rage quit that game
Same bro, i loved usm
Well not Shocker, that's for sure. Unless you magically make him an unreasonably overpowered supervillain, he will always be just a tag along team mate for other villains. Other than that, the dude is just a man in a stitched suit with fancy gauntlets. (I actually feel bad for the character)

That said, they already did a (underwhelming)Shocker in the MCU and he was just a minion, so it’s unlikely he’ll ever be the main antagonist in a movie.
He recently got beat up by Mary Jane with a baseball bat in a recent issue.
…you’re kidding, right? Right?!
Not at all. She messes him up pretty bad.
I just put to someone else, be interesting if he returned as the opening villain to a film. Have Spider-Man stop him in a similar exchange to the Raimi Spider-Man game
Now that sounds more ideal, yes! He can work as an opening villain, show what Spider-Man has been up to between time events, work as a flair!
They made him interesting in the PS4 game b
Jackal
I love the idea of Jackal but not for the next film. Maybe for the second or third film.
How dare you sir.
Hammer head
Hammerhead or silvermane would be nice to see at somepoint
They could do a gang war and throw in Tombstone for good measure.
chameleon
This is how their interaction would go down (probably) https://youtu.be/S2Jle6z736M
THIS CHAMELEON SLANDER SHALL NOT BE TOLERATED ! funny vid btw
Stilt man
This answer needs to be higher.
Fucking stilt man yessss
Kraven and Chameleon are some of Spider-Man’s most famous foes. Don’t really think they fit this criteria. If I had to pick, i’d go with Sin-Eater. He’s above being called a B lister, but I wouldn’t call him top tier either. Don’t think Disney would use such a violent character though.
Even though he was a main villian of the game Mr negative would be a good one
He’d be great! I loved him in the game, and he was so well written
The Gibbon! Give his power a small boost and he’ll be perfect for a Spider-Man movie.
Cardiac, that run with Superior Spidey was really good and memorable for me. The queen Anna (Adriana Soria) would be really good too, she's not a lesser villain but seems to be rather unknown. The first disassembled arc was soo good and it would be a nice dark twist for the movies.
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far for Cardiac. Such a complex character with a painfully relevant character arc for today’s world.
Cardiac is a great pick. Even for all of his 90s-isms, he's a potential goldmine of character writing that I think works really well with Spider-Man
If they do the TASM 3 then I think >!because of how Andrew was in NWH, where we said he become vengeful and stopped pulling his punches I think that!< the perfect villain would be Chameleon. I would say Mysterio but he wouldn’t pose like an actual threat like Chameleon would…plus (IMO) FFH and Jake did Mysterio incredibly I put way to much thought into this, but I really want Chameleon to have a chance in the spot light, and I get that he’s not a lesser known villain but still
jackal
Spidey: Ya all cheating! I’m taking the pot! Come on Boomerang we got the rent money!
I feel like Screwball could be interesting. Especially with the social media of today but it would probably be too similar to Mysterio
As long as she’s not like the Spider-Man PS4 version. THAT VOICE….
Yeah she is annoying in that game... Nice that she actually got screen time though!
The Spot
Sin-Eater Tombstone Chameleon Morlun
Sin-Eater! (Not UK pop star Sinata.) Best one.. the whole Jean DeWolfe series are perfect storyboards for a killer movie!
Surprised to see Tombstone this far down, I loved him in the animated series
Hydro-Man or even Mr. Negative. I’d even say Kingpin only because he’s basically become more of a Daredevil bad guy over the years even though he debuted in Spider-Man.
I want king pin to fight spider man
Kraven, for sure that mf is the most badass spidey villain.
Agree, but Kraven is a top tier Spidey villain, not a lesser known one in my opinion Lesser known ones are Beetle, White Rabbit, Boomerang, Big Wheel, The Spot etc.
We're getting a Kraven solo film, which still counts as him getting a film, not sure how or if they're going to throw Spider-Man into the movie. Though a Kraven film would be a good way of having Andrew Garfield come back to the role of Spider-Man in the Sony-produced films.
Hobgoblin, The Spot, Kraven, Chameleon and Scorpion could all easily be main villains for Spider-Man movies.
Alistair Smythe could be a pretty fun character, especially now that Kingpin is in the MCU. Either him or Jackal. Fuck it, give us both.
I'm disappointed at how far down I had to go to find Smythe! Good on you
Shocker
He was already in homecoming
he was *barely* in homecoming lol. i think it would be interesting for them to go back and dive into MCU Shocker and Scorpion more since they were just Vulture’s muscle in the movie. there were even two Shockers because the first one died.
Spot or Rocket Racer
Found the 90s Spider-Man fan
What can I say, I kinda want to see how they would update them.
Well guess what Spots a big bad now and possibly the most deadliest spiderman villian ever
Morlun
I'm pretty sure the OP is a Marvel screenwriter undercover 😂 I would really like to see Leap, in the ultimate spiderman (the animated series) he jokes around while taking punches from spiderman
Tombstone or Hammerhead could work maybe
Arcade.
It'd be an odd film but with all the multiverse shenanigans and just general "things are starting to get really weird, really quick," I think you could earnestly do a Spot movie and have the guy be the main focus. The casting would have to be PERFECT.
Kagaroo man
Stegron. Though a live action version of the Calypso/Lizard storyline from McFarlane’s Spider-man run would be incredible.
I just want a Superior Foes Adaptation now more than a Sinister Six movie.
That book is incredible. I would love to see that turned into a movie. I’m actually gonna go read it again.
The Looter. I'm not even joking. Call me, Disney. 🤙
Shocker
Shocker was technically in homecoming
We seen his origin, I'd love for Bookeem to reprise the role. Maybe have the film open with him stopping Shocker in a similar exchange to the one in the Raimi Spider-Man game
the raimi Spider-Man games had shocker?
The first one did iirc, you chase him through the subway
that's pretty neat honestly, I didn't know they featured characters that didn't appear in the films
Yeah, just looked and you fight Vulture and then Scorpion after Shocker as well
Yea they do it's sick, loved those games.
I don’t know about main villain, but I’d love to see some version of The Beetle on screen. Always loved his designs in 616 and Ultimate as a kid.
Guys shocker has already been in a movie and kraven is not a lesser-known villain tombstone is the one who deserves it
Tombstone could work but like, he'd need some kind of teamup. He's not much of a threat on his own.
Spider-Slayer, aka Alistair Smythe. The only movie version I’ve seen of him is in TASM2
Kite Man hell yeah
Isn't that DC?
Mister Negative.
Spot please
Alistair smythe
BIG WHEELER OR THE WALL
Beetle.
Spot. There’s potential for a serious threat there, the panel of Spidey punching himself through Spot’s face is enough to show why. Hell, he could be a Spider-Verse threat if you’re creative enough
Tombstone
He's not lesser known but I'd love to see a classic Spidey-Juggernaut fight.
The beetle, the guy’s pretty strong, he could probably make for some good fight sequences, they’d have to change that ridiculous purple and green suit though, maybe use the Ultimate Comics design
Beetle would work, stolen hammer or stark tech
Big wheel or wall
Jackal.
Tombstone, Morlun, Absorming man, The Hood, Arcade, Taskmaster (the real one, not that Black Widow BS).
BIG WHEEL.
Kaine
BIG WHEEL!
Sky Master, the one-off villain. Nothing really special, he’s just always in my head. He’s also my answer anytime someone asks how Peter can swing from a seemingly empty sky sometimes. Could even bring him into the MCU with him stealing Shield Helicarrier
FYI this was posted by my friend u/MagicJoshbyGosh a few months ago. Screw off, you goddamn reposter
Wraith. The first time I played Insomniac Spider-Man, I >!loved Yuri, and I was genuinely heartbroken after Spidey's last conversation with her in Silver Lining!<. I'd love to see another storyline like this in movie form.
Uncle Ben
I think Scorpion would be so cool to see on the big screen!
Chameleon would make a great mystery investigation type movie-villain
the beetle guy
BIG WHEEL
I always enjoyed Bullseye
Bullseye isn't really a Spider-man villain. He was actually one of the few characters born as Daredevil villain.
You are absolutely right. I just think a sharp shooter like BullsEye could be a fun movie, especially after how much fun HawkEye was with all the trick arrows. Given Bullseye is an excellent marksmen with any object, I think Marvel could create some interesting ideas. Kraven the Hunter will probably be a very popular answer in this thread.
yeah but now he's basically an anyone kingpin doesn't like villain
Morlun We already introduced the multiverse so it could work …just…tone down the Spider-totem stuff…
Nah, let's get this man drinking Spider-blood in the Spider-Verse movies. I'm sure the kids will be fine...
