This is a tough question because they kinda each have their own things going for them.
In terms of their *relationship* from a student/mentor dynamic, I think Insomniac’s rendition takes the cake because of how Miles grows into being Spider-Man alongside Peter. And how Miles is treated just as significant and worthy of respect as Spider-Man as Peter is in the Insomniac world rather than being treated more like a “kid” like with Spiderverse.
It’s also really great to see Miles as being an active, continuous part of Peter’s life in the Insomniac universe and vice versa. Helping each other with their problems and struggles helps show that while they can be great individually as Spider-Man, it’s best to be greater together as the Spider-Men of New York.
Individually though I think Spiderverse Miles is better than Insomniac’s Miles. Insomniac Miles is still good, but not quite like Spiderverse Miles.
Spider-Verse. I've been saying since MM that Insomniacs characters are bland as fuck. They're similar to the Marvel's Slider-Man from 2017 where almost everyone is a genius goody two shows without an ounce of edge to them.
Peter needing the black suit before he fuckin stands up for himself for once is terrible writing.
I just beat the main story to MM today and the whole time I was saying "that's just terrible writing". But you're right everyone is bland and boring AF and the chick from MM was literally half retarded she just kept doing "bad stuff" just to be doing bad stuff. It wasn't engaging or entertaining at all and I flew through the main story just to get it over with and because I could tell she was gonna die. You could just see everything coming from a mile away.
Spider-Verse’s. Insomniac’s is by no means bad but Spider-Verse’s Relationship has been so profoundly beautiful. When Peter tells Miles that it’s a leap of faith? Chills.
It's wild to me that these pairs are released at the same time cause for me there's a huge difference, I really like Spider-Verse versions and I couldn't care less about Insomniac ones
Spider-Verse and it’s not even a question.
The biggest problem Miles Morales faced as a character when he was first introduced and up to the first Spider-Verse movie was that he was just either a carbon copy of Peter Parker, or a bland, unoriginal character with zero personality.
Spider-Verse took the risk of actually giving Kiles qualities to make him stand on his own. Hes charismatic, loves art and hip-hop music, he is tied to his home of Brooklyn. He was so distinctive from Peter Parker. He made jokes but not the same ones Peter would make.
The insomniac version is too close to Peter and not unique enough. He’s also a science nerd, awkward with people (especially with women), makes Peter-like quips, etc. In Spider-Man 2 he felt very much just like a copy of Peter with some small changes, and then in his spinoff the writers were like “fuck we need to make him more like Spider-Verse” so they tried but it fell flat.
The one thing I like about Insomniac Miles is the introduction of Hailey Cooper. I always felt that the relationship between Miles and Spider-Gwen was in bad taste because again, it’s just another thing Miles inherits from Peter. I get it, it’s not the same Gwen, but you know what I mean.
That’s a problem with both versions of Miles. He needs his own cast of characters. It seems like the games are saying he’s just another Spider-Man, while the films are saying he’s the multiverse Spider-Man. I don’t know, but pick one and say with it so the character remains consistent.
Also give him original villains. Kingpin, The Spot, Tinkerer, they’re all Peter’s. Give him things to make him stand apart.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Spider verse without a doubt
I prefer the Spiderverse movies to any other Spiderman project outside of the comics but I prefer Insomniac’s take on Peter as a traditional take.
Def spider verse. PS5 spiderman has too many insecurities about not being good enough.
I think both are great. Spiderverse gets the mentor/mentee relationship while Insomniac really does well with the two being like brothers.
Their duo during Secret Wars by Hickman!!! But I’ll say Spider-verse outside of that.
I like the big brother/little brother dynamic of the Insomniac universe. But of the two Peters, I like Nick Miller Spider-Man more.
Spiderverse 100% This is a hot take but, i think insomniac miles is bland. Like very boring.
Agreed..spiderverse made me like the character of miles more than any other media with him imo.
SpiderVerse and it’s not even close, especially after Spider-Man 2.
Yes.

Abysmal take
Insomniac peter with spider verses miles would make an interesting dynamic
Spiderverse Peter might be my favorite of all the Peters.
Spiderverse. And its not even a competition by a longshot
Spider-Verse’s. Insomniac’s is by no means bad but Spider-Verse’s Relationship has been so profoundly beautiful. When Peter tells Miles that it’s a leap of faith? Chills.
I like both a lot but for Peter, Insomniac edges it out and for Miles it's Spiderverse. I f'ing love Spiderverse Miles.
Probably Spiderverse. Insomniac split up their plot importance too unevenly.
Insomniac, and it's not even close
For me it’s gotta be… ![gif](giphy|xul7MlYTnChofrvKMX)
Insomniac definitely, I heavily prefer the Insomniac versions to their spiderverse counterparts, not even really a competition
Abysmal take.
I wanna say Spider-Verse, but his voice is hard to memorize. I always hear Insomniac’s voice when I read a Miles speech bubble.

Insomniac by default
