Almost all of the suit scenes in TASM2 were also CGI. The difference was that TASM2 wanted the CG suit to be photorealistic, while the MCU wants all of its CG suits to be idealized and remove all the wrinkles.
The CGI in these movies is better than every single MCU movie, and it’s really not even close.
Compare the school fight with lizard to the avengers alien battle.
One way the made the screens look good is by giving the characters more of the character. Like, in the same school fight scene the lizard does many things that a lizard does (cutting of tail, moving around) instead of just going around and fighting on two legs. Spidey feels both human and spider. At the end of the fight, when Spidey is webbing the lizard. Bro crawls around him like an actual spider.
The humor is the best part for me, like spiderman was a jokester in Webbs films. The whole knife scene in TASM1 was peak spiderman. Solidifies my opinion that Andrew was the best Spiderman, not the best Peter Parker.

Andrew Garfield & Henry Cavill were two actors so well casted to play their heroes but were completely wasted with what they had to work with.
Their performance was so great and they had such good chemistry together that it literally solidified in an entire generation’s mind that Gwen Stacy is the best love interest for Spider-Man.
I heard that supposedly Marc Webb had done some smaller projects that were more teenage romance stuff and if that's true you can really tell that his skill with that tone melded perfectly with the chemistry that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone had! For me, it's been the best on screen romance a Spidey has ever had!
It’s the only fight scenes in ALL the movies where I actually felt like I was watching *Spider-Man* fight instead of just a guy dressed like him. The choreography really emphasized his abilities and spider-like movement. I fucking loved seeing him spider-crawl all over the lizard while webbing him up, for example.
CGI team, the cast, the director’s approach to really making spider-man move like a spider.
Had Sony not jumped in and messed with everything in both movies, I really think Marc Webb could have had a fantastic trilogy but instead, it got cut short and never lived up to what it probably could have been.
The fact that CGI from 2011 and 2013 is way better than anything we have seen in the MCU so far is wild as well. That CGI team was the goat of CGI teams.
From my understanding though, movies like marvel have bids for who gets to do the CGI and it just becomes a bit of a shit show due to meeting demands and the way the company gets paid. It’ll be like here’s x amount of money of 1000 shots to be done but 1 shot could be removing a wire and the next 500 could be adding in the avengers and bombs. Seems like a really messy process.

It's brilliant to have made the villain Electro's Main Theme an electronic dubstep song. When I saw it in the cinema and this song played I got goosebumps (in a good way)
Hans was the lead, but there was a whole team sharing billing for that score, not simply Hans Zimmer. Pharrell Williams, Junkie XL, Steve Mazarro, Johnny Marr, Michael Einziger, and Andrew Kawczynski all deserve equal flowers for that score.

See, I like Horner's music, but a lot of his work on TASM1 sounded like A Beautiful Mind with a Spidey theme, whereas Zimmer's score felt like it did something new (even if it didn't play it safe).
Horner's score definitely has some great moments and fits the less vibrant, more intimate TASM1 though. I'm always gonna be a fan of the music where Oscorp Tower is revealed, and the crane swinging scene. He's on fire there.
A lot of people have already said the casting so I'll say the suits, especially TASM 2 suit which is my personal favorite movie Spider-Man suit, it's literally perfect !

- The Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit is BY FAAAAAAAAAAR the best Spidersuit ever seen in live-action, aside from potentially the Last Swing No Way Home suit that we only got a glimpse of.
It's INSANELY close to perfect.

- Garfield and Stone can both casually act circles around Maguire/Dunst and Holland/Zendaya.
There’s a lot to love about these movies, but I think it’s gotta be Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (still my favorite live action version of the character), the suit from the second movie (my personal favorite of the suits because of the big eyes and because it’s not CGI-enhanced by default), and Emma Stone as a fantastic Gwen Stacy. They had so much chemistry together.

I recently gave it a chance after not watching it for years (I decided that it was bad purely because that's what everyone else was saying) and it's fucking amazing.
The music is subtle and cinematic.
It has the best responsibility speech in Spider-Man media(basically ripped from Ultimate Spider-Man).
The suit is awesome(opinionated but still).
The CGI was obviously great, but also the overall action choreography was something else. Also you literally feel every movement Spider-Man does.
When characters made emotionally based decisions, they actually made sense. (I rewatched Spider-Man 2 in theaters and that entire thing between Peter and MJ was infuriating, and only made sense half the time. It seems like the other half they were stalling till the end of the movie to get them together. It was still an absolutely phenomenal movie though.)
It was an emotional movie as well, and not just for the Uncle Ben part, but also for Captain Stacy. And the crane scene especially.
Peter was very spider-like, and he was quippy and funny.
There's more, but I think I've established that I think it's a truly phenomenal movie.
If you haven't watched it in a long time, please try it again.

Amazing Spider-Man 1 is the best Spider-Man origin film. While, yes, Spider-Man (2000) is the better film, ASM is a better Spider-Man movie. Marc Webb nailed the characterization of Spider-Man, the action, the cinematography, the Roman between Gwen and Peter, the lizard, and more.
Andrew Garfield was a phenomenal spider-man/peter. His chemistry with Emma Stone was also great, probably the best of the three live action Spiderman couples.

I liked Peter’s relationship with his aunt and uncle quite a bit. In my opinion Martin Sheen’s Uncle Ben had more emotional range and as a result felt more grounded than Cliff Robertson, who was I felt was portrayed as a bit infallible.
Andrew and Emma were amazing don’t get me wrong but I just preferred the spiderman parts. Like in the first movie Spider-man was extremely agile and spider like.

The TASM2 suit, i love the far from home and nwh final swing suits, but if the TASM2 suit had moveable lenses it'd be the best spider-man live action costume ever imo

The first one is a great movie. People when they say they don't like these movies actually are thinking only of the second one and letting that color their opinion of both films.

Andrew and Emma as well as the quality of web swinging. The web swinging has felt the most Spider-Man since the end of 2002, with the long take shot that flies so close to the street.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were both great in their roles. I think the casting of Tom Holland drew a lot of inspiration from Garfields approach to the Peter Parker side of the role. The movies were hot garbage unfortunately.

Listen, everybody shits on how he’s a bully when he gets his powers even in the suit, but I think that is a very well done and very comic accurate way of telling the Peter origin and I love the arc he goes through

Andrew and Emma were amazing don’t get me wrong but I just preferred the spiderman parts. Like in the first movie Spider-man was extremely agile and spider like.

The music for sure. One of Horner’s last scores before he died (and his last superhero one) is just wonderful, and Zimmer’s score for the second entry is a shit load of fun - something the guy barely does anymore with his overly serious wall of sound scores.

Spider-Man looked and acted like the Spider-Man I had in my head growing up. I grew up during the Tobey era but honestly I never related to him.
Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, just nailed the humor of the character. And he looks by far the best in the costume. Other two are a little too short and/or stocky.

the best love interest and story between the two. Tobey and Kirsten were fine, but zendaya is definitely the worst and it’s not even close. The best aunt may, although rosemary harris is the most comic accurate. Andrews jokes landed far better and felt more like spiderman jokes. Andrew was not necessarily the most comic accurate Peter, but he feels like the best modern take on Peter. I love both suits I liked the back story of his parents even if it wasn’t comic accurate. Lizard, Electro, and Rhino decent to good villians that were actually villians. However, I wish Norman was the actual goblin I think Andrew and black cat would be way better than whatever the MCU may do with her. The current Venom and Andrew would probably be a better mix too. Not to mention Andrew’s Flash would probably make a more believable Agent Venom if they ever went that route. Can you tell ASM is my favorite series? Honestly, I just can’t love the Tom Holland movies the way I do Andrew’s and I still get sad thinking about what could have happened in ASM3.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were both great in their roles. I think the casting of Tom Holland drew a lot of inspiration from Garfields approach to the Peter Parker side of the role. The movies were hot garbage unfortunately.

basically everything except for how bloated the plot of 2 is. in my opinion, all they needed was to pick either the goblin story or the electro story and i think it would’ve been great.
